| Upon a chance encounter on Port Ol'val while waiting to catch a transport back to the Anzat homeworld, Teylas was sought out by Solus Gar to be his apprentice in training of the dark side of the Force. Already familiar with his Force sensitivity, the training began as a rigorous and quick campaign, on top of Teylas' previous combat training, to allow him to join the ranks of the Sith Order as quickly as possible.
| | Teylas would quickly describe himself as a self-centered, narcissistic and sarcastic insufferable genius. His wit has been described as deceptively cunning, with a sense of humor to match. In any combat situation, his nature as a strategist becomes apparent as he prefers to allow his opponent to make the first move. This allows him to both judge the combat effectiveness and tactics of his enemy while also allowing his opponent to become the aggressor. Ramar is an adherent of the recorded teachings of Darth Tyranus particularly his mastery in the art of dueling. |

| Teylas was born and grew up feeling a solitary life. Being one of the first newborns in decades, there were none of his kind on his homeworld that were even within a hundred years of his age. While there was somewhat of a boom, as much as could be from the Anzat, of new births shortly after Telyas', it came too late for his upbringing. Spending much of his time around fellow Anzat that were much older than him, the feeling of an entire community helping to raise him was obvious from early on. Although instinctively many of the other Anzat were losing their paternal and maternal traits as it had been so long since any of them had to raise a child. | | Teylas was born on Anzat into an upper class family with parents whom were both political diplomats. Being one of the few Anzat born every year and the communal feeling of Anzat culture allowed Teylas to take in a wide berth of experiences in his youth giving him a unique personality in his adult life. Despite his wide berth of experiences early in his life, he showed difficulty fitting in with others, but was offset with an almost ironic curiosity and thirst for knowledge. |
|
| |
|
| After he began feeding, his connection to the Force began early on. This connection was quickly boosted once Teylas joined his parents, both Anzat representatives to the Sublight Products Corporation, and was able to have a much larger feeding area. Although they didn't leave the confines of an orbital station, it was a unique experience for the first Anzat to be born in generations. | | After he began feeding, his connection to the Force began early on. | During his youth, Teylas also showed quite an adept attunement to the Force given his young age and lack of training. However it was the lack of training that both made him dangerous and nervous of his own abilities. Because of that, he was reluctant to focus in on using the Force other than his species natural abilities to lure others in for feeding. | | During his youth, Teylas showed quite an adept attunement to the Force given his young age and lack of training. | It was also during his youth that Teylas took a keen interest in the sciences, particularly engineering and it's surrounding fields; likely due to the fact that his parents were working so closely with his species' relationship with a ship-building manufacturer. Although like many Anzat, his long life enabled him to master the field and then quickly grow bored of it without new challenges, settings and the overwhelming drive to feed.

| While traveling out into the galaxy on his own for the first time, the young Teylas happened to venture to the crime ridden world of Nar Shaddaa. It was during his time there that he happened to come upon the nightspot of Club Vertica. While maintaining a solid stance in the corner of the club he was approached by a middle-aged, ruggedly dressed, yet beautifully kept woman. After a long conversation between the two the woman, Captain Brivi Dobal, offered to bring young Teylas on board her ship as a member of her crew. With that she promised to teach the young Anzat all the ways of the galaxy, the methods of privateering and pirating, and how to handle himself as a member of her crew. It was the first promise of many that she would keep. | | |

Decades of this went on until he finally decided to get himself together and return to Nar Shaddaa. Under a pseudonym he returned to the Hutt Cartel, this time as a bounty hunter for hire. | Intending to bring Teylas into the fold quickly, an arduous regiment began for Teylas' training. Immediately showing his competitive nature, Teylas was able to master things quickly, and became quite the duelist with a lightsaber, just like his master. Although his mastery of telepathy was above par for most others, mostly due to his own species mastery of the ability, his attunement to the other Force abilities was untrained. Even after months of attempting to master his abilities, he was only able to become proficient in skills such as Force lightning and telekinesis. However, his seemingly natural flow with a lightsaber was more than enough to compensate for his lack of mastery of the higher Force abilities that could be worked on in time. | | Intending to bring Teylas into the fold quickly, an arduous regiment began for Teylas' training. Sensing the largely untapped Force sensitivity within Teylas, Solus took the time to get to know the man during his stay at Port Ol'val. Eventually he propositioned Teylas to take him under his wing as an apprentice to teach him the dark side of the Force. The Anzat was intrigued enough to attempt what was being proposed. Already attuned to his own telepathic powers, and only slightly scratching the surface of others, it was to be a grueling process.
Intending to bring Teylas into the fold quickly, an arduous regiment began for Teylas' training. Immediately showing his competitive nature, Teylas was able to master things quickly, and became quite the duelist with a lightsaber just like his master. Although his mastery of telepathy was above par for most others, mostly due to his own species mastery of the ability, his attunement to the other Force abilities was untrained. Even after months of attempting to master his abilities, he was only able to become sufficiently proficient in many skills, except for telekinesis which he showed similar skills in as with his telepathy. However, his seemingly natural flow with a lightsaber was more than enough to compensate for his lack of mastery of the higher Force abilities that could be worked on in time.
The first major campaign that Teylas took part in was the conquering of the Outer Rim world of Nfolgai during the war against the One Sith. During the assault and pillaging of Nfolgai was also when House Plagueis revealed itself to the galaxy again after the remainder of the galaxy believed it to be destroyed. The Ascendant Fleet wasted no time moving onto their next target, Khar Delba, in order to claim the ancient Temple of Naga Sadow from right under the Sadowans. Teylas was a member of the strike team which was assigned to explore the decoy fortress on Khar Delba's icy surface. During the landing attempt, the strike team's shuttle was sabotaged and they were eventually incapacitated and captured. Finding that the culprit behind it was Xander Drax, the entire group was tortured for information and, in some cases, the sheer joy of it. During their escape and attempt to reunite with the rest of the team, Teylas and Arden Karn were forced to combat Drax's apprentice, Fuuka Ashasti. Although the two inexperienced Sith were no match for Ashasti one-on-one, they were able to use their numbers to outsmart the Sith apprentice, giving Teylas the opportunity to deliver the crushing blows which defeated Ashasti.
During the campaign to win the spoils of the desert planet Ch'hodos Teylas was assigned by Alaris Jinn to oversee Sith assault operations from orbit on the BAC Terminus. Fighting the assault on the ground would have been preferable for the Anzat, but the experience of commanding from behind the front line was just as rewarding.
Appearance
Physical Characteristics
Teylas is easily distinguished by a strong, chiseled face to naturally match his very lightly tanned skin tone. Very professional and business looking he is very kept. He typically keeps his thick, dark black hair slicked back and clean shaven on the face to match this kept style. The two tentacle-like proboscises used by his species to feed upon other humanoid species are completely unnoticeable when retracted into their proper seams along the ridge of his nose.
Attire
Teylas, loathing the inability to maneuver that comes with more armored clothing, prefers lighter robes. He can typically be found with a basic black tunic underneath a deep Russian violet colored v-neck vest, slit down to his thick belt and two separate ends of the long vest draping below his thick, clasped-belt. The vest, coming up to his neck with a thick collar, is accented with solid black robe with two silver cloak pins at his chest to hold it fast. The cloak matches in color with elbow-length gloves with gauntlet-like diagonal end cuts, and knee high boots with metal clasps up and down their sides.
The robes are more than just for maneuverability, however, as they also have practicability. The gloves gauntlet-like ends allow for storage of small items, as does the clasped-belt. Most importantly though is the vest, which allows for hidden storage of some items of importance within them, including a small DC-15s blaster pistol which is usually on Teylas' person.
