Evoroth Stigaryl is a yellow-orange skinned Zabrak and newly appointed apprentice of the Dark Jedi Knight Teylas Ramar. He has been a member of the house Plagueis as of 36 ABY. Having been abandoned as a child by being sold into the slave trade on Tatooine eventually winding up on Nar Shadaa, his youth was filled with violence and his own personal suffering. This has led to his insatiable lust for power that once gained, Evoroth believes it will serve as a tool to right all of the wrongs that he had suffered during the time he spent as a slave. It was during his service to the Bounty Hunter, Rakat, that Evoroth first encountered the man that would eventually become his master, Teylas Ramar.
Character Biography
From Thief to Slave
Evoroth was born to a single mother on the Zabrak homeworld of Iridonia. A product of a crime committed against his mother, Alendra by a Force Adept thug whilst his mother was homeless, Evoroth lived on the streets of Iridonia’s capital of the same name. There he thrived, teaching himself petty thief tasks such as pick-pocketing, sleight of hand and distraction.
Over time, Alendra began to notice that her young child was beginning to display an ability to complete these tasks with unnatural speed and precision, especially for a young child.
As Evoroth grew, it became more apparent to Alendra that mere petty thievery would not be enough to sustain them both. They travelled to the desert world of Tatooine as stowaways aboard the cargo ship Asheron, with Alendra planning to make money from her son any way she could. After spending a year there without Alendra making a single additional credit, she was so desperate that she finally decided to make money to live the only way she could; selling Evoroth into the slave trade.
A boy of just 11 years, strong and possessing the skill set Evoroth had would fetch up to a hundred thousand credits in this region, easily though he had no idea what was happening to him. Alendra sold him to the Hutt, Juro, the ruling Hutt in the region. During the deal, once Evoroth had been handed to the Hutt, his guards shot Alendra down before him, taking the credits and the boy.
A Slave
As expected of any child slave, life was far from easy. Juro had submitted the youth to a life in the spice mines of the planet - a dark and dangerous task in itself. Suffering regular beatings, each more severe at the hands of the older slaves and slave masters, Evoroth’s life with his mother seemed like an age away.
Even after suffering these beatings, when an accident occurred involving an explosion in the drilling equipment used by Juro’s operation that began to collapse one the mines he was working in, Evoroth did all he could to save those around him. Using his enhanced speed and strength, traits he was beginning to notice he held over the other slaves and even the masters as he grew older, Evoroth made every attempt to save those that he could, managing to save only 5 out of 7 slaves working in the mine with him.
This display of bravery did not go unnoticed. Within days, at the age of 14, Evoroth was taken out of the mines and made Juro’s personal slave.
Life at this point certainly became easier, though it wasn’t without its dangers. Juro was famous for his slaves falling out of favour with him as day follows night. This usually resulted in the slave being fed to the Sarlacc.
Evoroth discovered an interest in ancient texts - both Jedi and Sith - that the Hutt had acquired over a number of years. With this unprecedented access to the Juro’s personal archives, he used his time in service to the hutt to study many of the texts.
At 16, Evoroth’s time with Juro was up as the Hutt had become tired of the Zabrak. Thankfully, Evoroth had done enough over the couple of years of his service to at least win him some favours. It had taken everything he could muster to convince Juro that his best option and more profitable option would be to sell him on.
Rakat
Juro sold Evoroth to Rakat, a Chiss Bounty Hunter and a very good one at that. Rakat’s own reputation preceded him given the clientele he kept. The regular scum and villainy of the Outer Rim were beneath him and his clients generally required the removal of political figures.
Over several months, Evoroth joined Rakat on every bounty, gathering intelligence and placing traps as needed. On several occasions, he even aided Rakat in making a hit look like an incident. Evoroth began to take great pride in his work, finally no longer feeling like a slave in his occupation and beginning to enjoy his tasks.
Finding Evoroth had a natural talent for Bounty Hunting, Rakat began to give him more challenging tasks and began to treat him more as a comrade as opposed to a slave. Through this affinity between them, it wasn’t long before they found themselves in possession of a contract that placed a bounty of twenty million credits on Teylas Ramar.
