| == Alternate Story == | | ===Guarlara in Art, History and Culture of Naboo=== |
| | In the tapestry of history, the delineation of eras isn't always a clear, linear progression. Often, historical periods overlap, interweaving their defining characteristics and significant events. The categorization of historical epochs is more about capturing dominant systems, notable developments, or prevailing circumstances rather than strictly adhering to a chronological sequence. For instance, the arrival of the first sentient beings might coincide with or intersect various dominant systems or defining events of a particular era, reshaping its trajectory. This approach allows for a more fluid understanding of history, emphasizing the dominant features or contexts prevalent during specific epochs rather than rigid timelines. |
| | |

| | ====Prehistoric Era==== |
| | Naboo's prehistoric era signifies a period before recorded history, featuring early settlements not just by humans but also by various sentient beings, including the Gungans. While the Gungans primarily thrived in aquatic environments, they exhibited some interaction with Naboo's terrestrial landscape. This phase witnessed the emergence of primitive societies, reliance on natural resources, and the development of basic tools for survival. Both the Naboo people and other sentient beings showcased a profound connection with their surroundings, as evidenced by cave paintings and artifacts depicting their interactions with the fauna within the landscape. This era serves as a testament to the foundational cultural and historical development of Naboo before written records were established. |
| | |
| | The earliest evidence of Guarlara's existence can be traced back to ancient cave paintings or rupestrian art discovered near the Naboo grasslands. These cave walls held significance to the early human civilizations residing nearby, serving as shelters, workspaces, and historical archives. Among these preserved artworks were depictions of Guarlara, suggesting a historical bond between Naboo's early human inhabitants and the surrounding fauna. |
| | |
| | The paintings of Guarlara on cave walls often depicted these creatures with chubby bodies and short legs, a portrayal potentially rooted in the perception of plump animals symbolizing a rich and desirable food source. Early civilizations highly valued larger or fattier animals for their ample protein content, considering them a coveted resource for sustenance. This perspective likely influenced the initial stages of animal domestication, driving efforts to optimize these creatures for consumption. |
| | |
| | Amidst these depictions, archaeologists unearthed small miniature Guarlara meticulously crafted from wood, bone, and clay. This discovery significantly deepened our comprehension of prehistoric Naboo's profound veneration for these creatures. Sculptures made from stone emerged later in the artistic evolution. Nevertheless, the absence of stone statues during the prehistoric era does not negate the possibility of stone usage in diverse contexts during that time. |
| | |
| | The identity of the first human to ride a Guarlara remains a subject of speculation, interwoven with local folklore that presents various versions of this narrative. Some suggested that the first tame Guarlara, suitable for riding, was a revered creature believed to be a gift from the gods. This folklore, deeply entrenched in Naboo's cultural heritage, profoundly shaped their perception of these animals, often elevating them to sacred status and deserving of the utmost respect. |
| | |
| | The inception of humans riding guarlara likely stemmed from practical needs such as mobility, facilitating travel, and enabling exploration of new territories. As humans realized the feasibility of taming these animals for daily tasks, it's probable they began utilizing them for transportation purposes. Although precise historical records are lacking, the convenience of mobility and the practical advantages offered by riding these animals probably played a pivotal role. Early forms of tack and equipment are believed to have been used in prehistoric times, but their more organized and sophisticated utilization generally began during the later ancient or classical period. |
| | |
| | |
| | ====Ancient Era==== |
| | The Ancient Era witnessed the nascent stages of Naboo's civilization, where rudimentary writing systems and the initial documentation of cultural progressions emerged. In this epoch, representations of Guarlara were held in deep reverence as emblems of strength, protection, and guardianship. |
| | Sculptures of Guarlara during the Ancient Era tended to depict them in more restrained poses, such as sitting or crouching, exhibiting a certain rigidity compared to the later Classical Era. This limitation in pose variations might have been influenced by both structural considerations in sculpture-making techniques of the time and the symbolic significance attached to seated or crouching positions within the cultural context of that era. These sculptures, crafted predominantly from materials like wood, bone, clay, and occasionally stone, were often positioned near gates or entrances, symbolizing their role as protectors of sacred or revered spaces, embodying the spiritual ethos of ancient Naboo. |
| | |
| | During the Ancient Era, artistic expressions transitioned from cave wall paintings to encompassing various surfaces, including clay pottery. This evolution signified a significant shift in artistic practices as people began utilizing clay vessels as canvases for their creative expressions. These clay pots bore intricate paintings, showcasing narratives of the era's history, mythologies, and daily life. The transition from cave paintings to clay vessels marked a pivotal moment in the history of artistic expression, as it allowed for portable art, offering insights into the cultural tapestry of the ancient civilizations. This practice of painting on clay pots persisted and evolved, extending its influence into the later Classical Era, reflecting a continuum of artistic development across different mediums. |
| | |
| | During this period, humans had developed technology and skills that enabled them to craft the necessary equipment to control and prepare guarlara for transportation, agricultural work, and military purposes. This encompassed various types of bridles, saddles, and harnesses essential for effectively managing and utilizing guarlara. |
| | |
| | In parallel with the development of military strategies, the use of guarlara armor originated around the period of the Ancient and later Classical Eras, coinciding with advancements in metalworking and production technology. However, the utilization of guarlara armor became more widespread and intricate during the subsequent medieval era. |
| | |

As time progressed, the escoffiate underwent a transformative evolution, gradually taking on a more intricate and elaborate form. It eventually encompassed components such as the Royal Sovereign of Naboo medal, a wig crafted to emulate guarlara horns complemented by golden hairbands and ornamental hair tips, and a cap adorned with orichalc finework suspensas. |
| | |
| | ====Classical Era==== |
| | Naboo experienced a zenith of cultural and intellectual growth during this period. Significant advancements were made in arts, culture, and political structures, contributing to the society's flourishing. In the classical era, Guarlara statues were often crafted with generous proportions and intricate details. It was a period of artistic flourishing, showcasing statues portraying various poses, beautiful body proportions, and other elements more realistically. |
| | |
| | The Guarlara statues adorning the streets and facades of buildings in Theed adopt formal and noble poses, often depicted in a regal stance. They typically stand tall, conveying a sense of majesty and authority. These statues commonly depict the Guarlara with a raised head, its posture emphasizing pride and strength. The pose is static yet dignified, capturing the creature in a poised and noble manner. Most of these statues signify a historical or cultural significance, adhering to traditional stances that echo the city's reverence for its heritage. |
| | |
| | In studios and museums, Guarlara statues exhibit a broader range of poses, inviting more creativity and exploration of artistic expression. These sculptures showcase innovative stances that deviate from the traditional formalities seen on the city's streets. Some Guarlara statues in these settings might display dynamic poses, capturing the creature in motion—galloping, leaping, or even engaging with its environment. These poses allow for a deeper exploration of the Guarlara's character, offering a glimpse into various aspects of its behavior, emotions, or mythical significance. Studios and museums often employ these sculptures to portray diverse narratives or artistic interpretations, contributing to a more varied and expressive representation of the Guarlara. |
| | |
| | During the classical era, Naboo's artistic landscape flourished with murals that didn't solely focus on Guarlara but encompassed diverse subjects. These vibrant artworks graced public spaces, portraying themes from mythology, historical events, daily life, and nature, earning admiration for their grandeur and storytelling, contributing significantly to the artistic heritage of that era. Mosaics, another hallmark of the classical period, stood alongside murals and continued to thrive, even extending their influence into later periods, notably during the medieval era. Noteworthy in Naboo's architectural evolution were the striking domes and porticos that rapidly developed during this epoch. These buildings prominently featured large domes and porticos adorned with elegant columns, integral elements defining the architectural aesthetics of classical Naboo. |
| | |
| | ====Medieval Era==== |
| | Positioned between the classical and modern periods, this era was characterized by feudal systems, crusades, and significant religious developments that shaped Naboo's societal landscape. In Naboo's history, the medieval period, often known as the Middle Ages, was characterized by a focus on deeper symbolism in the art of carving. Guarlara statues held a profound spiritual or religious significance beyond mere physical representation. This era witnessed a shift towards more intricate and symbolic carving styles, reflecting the deeper cultural and spiritual values of the Naboo people. |
| | |
| | The medieval manuscripts of Naboo intricately portray the Guarlara in various cultural and historical contexts. These manuscripts serve as crucial mediums to narrate tales involving the role and presence of the Guarlara in the daily lives of Naboo's people. |
| | |
| | Within these manuscripts, the Guarlara are often depicted as sacred and esteemed creatures, revered as guardians of nature and custodians of Naboo's culture. | | |
| | During the Medieval Era, while stained glass art flourished as a prominent visual expression on Naboo, another remarkable facet of artistic brilliance was the intricate artistry in textiles. Textile art emerged as a cornerstone of creative expression, fostering a tapestry of heritage that interwove tales and traditions. |
| | |
| | Much like stained glass, textiles held a significant place in medieval Naboo's art and culture. The weaving and embroidery of intricate patterns on fabric mirrored the richness of the era's creative sophistication. | | ====Modern Era==== |
| | During this period marked by rapid industrialization and technological advancements, Naboo underwent profound societal transformations. This era not only propelled the planet into the realms of globalization but also sparked a shift in artistic expression. |
| | |
| | The rejection of traditional artistic norms led to the emergence of Naboo's modern art movement, influenced primarily by dominant forces like Cubism, Futurism, and Surrealism. While these movements significantly shaped the artistic landscape of modern Naboo, the subsequent developments of Impressionism, which further emphasized aspects of Naboo's innate charm, were more aligned with the legacy of earlier art movements rather than directly influenced by these modern art forms. |
| | |
| | Impressionist art portrays Guarlara amidst the wild nature of Naboo, highlighting the allure of the landscape and atmospheric nuances of its surroundings. It endeavors to capture the dramatic changes in the enchanting light that illuminate the Naboo landscape. |
| | |
| | Art Nouveau, also known as "New Art," was influential during the early modern era. This movement emphasized organic beauty, curved lines, and drew inspiration from nature, often portraying elegant forms of flora and fauna. The style is characterized by intricate decorations, detailed ornamentation, and an artistic aesthetic applied in various fields, including fine arts, architecture, interior design, jewelry, and other forms of applied arts. |
| | |
| | Embracing the essence of this movement, Guarlara's form resonates with the elegance of nature's curves, portraying a fusion of graceful fauna and flora. | | =====Rise of Avant-Garde Movement===== |
| | During Naboo's transition from the medieval era to modernism, a significant shift occurred in artistic expression. While many residents held onto classical artistic values, a wave of new approaches challenged these conventions. The emergence of avant-garde movements like Cubism marked a departure from classical and medieval techniques. The term avant-garde comes from the words advance guard and vanguard. Cubism, known for its analytical approach, redefined visual representation by deconstructing subjects into abstract forms. Within this movement, Guarlaras became subjects of multifaceted portrayals, showcasing various aspects of the creature within a single artwork. This representation aimed to capture the creature's essence in a more comprehensive visual context. |
| | |
| | As Cubism waned, giving way to Futurism, the artistic portrayal of Guarlaras underwent a transformation. While Cubism focused on multiple perspectives within a single frame, Futurism embraced the essence of speed, dynamism, and technological advancements. Guarlaras, within the Futurist movement, were often depicted with elongated lines, vibrant color palettes, and fragmented forms, symbolizing their adaptation to an era characterized by rapid change and technological innovation. |
| | |
| | The transition from Futurism to Surrealism marked a fascinating shift in Naboo's artistic evolution. Amidst rapid technological progress and modernization, Naboo's artists felt compelled to explore the profound layers of life, including a deeper relationship between humanity, nature, and the miraculous. |
| | |
| | Surrealism, as an artistic movement depicting unnerving, illogical scenes and unlocking techniques to express the unconscious mind, provided a platform for Naboo's artists to venture into boundless realms of imagination. This movement allowed them to transcend the limitations of conventional reality. Within the realm of Guarlaras, Surrealism offered a deeper and experimental portrayal, evoking unpredictable and mysterious visualizations that intensified the exploration of the wonders within Naboo's universe. |

Their ceremonial use as mounts, the incorporation of their horns and furs in clothing and tapestries all conveyed more than their animalistic nature – they epitomized power and elevated stature. |
| | |
| | The royal perspective accentuated the exclusivity in the relationship with these creatures. Only select individuals, such as members of the royal family or the esteemed royal crusaders, were granted the privilege of riding these majestic beings. This stringent control over access possibly served as a means of preserving and emphasizing their elevated status or privilege. |
| | |
| | The royal viewpoint articulated a distinct perception of guarlara, presenting them not solely as creatures but as emblematic representations of power and distinction. - "Embrace nature as your foremost mentor, for within its whispers lies wisdom unbound."
- ―Agate Gua'lara
Agate Gua'lara, a Force-sensitive human female, possessed an extraordinary affinity for understanding and nurturing creatures. Her unconventional path saw her immersed in the ranching world and conservation efforts, diverging from the conventional Jedi training. Despite this, she deeply revered her Jedi mentors, drawing invaluable wisdom on navigating the path illuminated by the light side of the Force. Her extensive off-world ventures were dedicated to studying the intricacies of nature and the enigmatic 'Lore of Guarlara'.
Character History
Early Life
- "Planting a tree is an act of charity."
- ―Gua'lara Tribe's proverb
Born on the planet Naboo in 1 BBY, Agate was raised within the ancient Gua'lara tribe. Her father, Zircon Gua'lara, and her mother, Beryl Gua'lara, were respected members of this clan. Agate was the eldest of her siblings, with her younger sister, Kunzite, and the youngest, Iolite, completing the family.
This ancient tribe had a storied history of breeding and taming the creatures known as Guarlara long before these majestic beasts became the noble steeds of the royal family. Due to their distinguished ability to form bonds with and train the Guarlara, the clan earned the moniker 'The Guarlara Whisperers.' It is believed that over time, the name 'Gua'lara' evolved from their ancestral connection to the 'Guarlara' creatures, symbolizing their expertise and legacy as breeders.
One of the core teachings passed down from parent to child was a deep reverence for nature. Agate parents instilled in their children a profound respect for the environment and all the creatures that inhabit it. They believed that the balance and harmony of the natural world were essential for the tribe's well-being, and they taught their children not to harm or destroy the delicate ecosystems that sustained their community.
Agate possessed a unique ability for connecting with, fostering bonds with, and communicating with creatures. Her parents also realized her strong affinity with the Force. Some members of the tribe harnessed the Force to tame these creatures. She had a favorite, loyal male Guarlara named Andrea. He was a massive male Guarlara with a pair of horns on his head. Despite his large and powerful physique, he had a gentle, patient, and calm disposition. Agate cherished the time she spent with him, often taking trips to the hill to enjoy the city view and the distant waterfalls.
Agate's remarkable talent for communicating with other creatures, fostering a unique bond with Andrea that allowed her to ride him even without a saddle and bridle. However, during training sessions, she consistently employed tack and equipment. This decision stemmed not only from the understanding that not everyone shared her extraordinary ability but also to ensure Andrea's safety and comfort when used by others who might not share the same connection.
Life on Naboo
Long ago, Agate's ancestors were traders and breeders who formed agreements to work with the Royal family, specializing in the breeding and training of the majestic Guarlara. Through advanced breeding techniques and agreements, the Gua'lara family's descendants prospered, accumulating wealth. They established their homes near Theed, the capital city of Naboo, where Guarlara statues adorned the streets, symbolizing nobility, loyalty, and strength.
However, not all of Agate's ancestors chose to live in or near the capital. Her family maintained a small ranch not far from the city, while some of her relatives resided in remote locations, including the snowy northern mountains of Naboo.
During Agate's childhood, her family often visited these remote regions, exploring the vast landscapes and encountering the wild and feral Guarlaras roaming freely. It was during these visits that they interacted closely with tribe members who adhered to more traditional breeding methods.
For Agate, these experiences left a lasting impression. She felt a stronger connection to the Force and developed a growing desire to learn more about it. Exploring meadows and wandering through forests, Agate found solace in the natural beauty around her, even if it occasionally resulted in minor wounds and scars on her arms and legs. These trips also exposed her to captivating local celebrations, such as the Festival of Glad Arrival in the Lake Country. However, they also led to encounters with daunting, giant aquatic creatures that sometimes approached local fishermen.
Guarlara held significant importance in the lives of the people of Naboo, particularly within the realms of tradition, social hierarchy, and economy. The divergence in perspectives between traditionalist societies and monarchical groups was evident in their treatment and management of Guarlaras, as well as their differing views on sentient and non-sentient relationships within these respective groups.
These disparities often sparked conflicts or tensions within Naboo's society. With a background deeply rooted in traditional values, Agate assumed a crucial role in comprehending and reconciling these differences to foster mutual understanding.
While not her primary focus, Agate's efforts in promoting multiculturalism within Naboo were more personal. She amalgamated traditional values with the need for inclusivity and respect for differences. Her aim was to bridge diverse groups, highlighting diversity as a strength rather than a weakness.
Education
Agate's education took place at the schools and academies of Theed, where she developed a deep love for exploring the city's galleries, libraries, and museums. During her time at school, she encountered a fellow classmate named Balia Donos. While Balia was often reserved and didn't interact much with his peers, Agate had a sense that he carried a mysterious air about him.
In her teenage years, Agate began hearing rumors about Balia's involvement in a significant incident, one that ultimately led to his sudden disappearance. As time passed, Balia's name faded into obscurity, and Agate didn't expect to hear about him again.
However, her life took an unexpected turn when she met her future Jedi master later in life, Sa Ool, who disclosed that he had crossed paths with Balia on Naboo, shedding new light on the puzzling past of her former classmate.
Agate's education in Theed exposed her to a wealth of knowledge in art, biology, history, and diplomacy, yet she recognized a significant gap in her understanding concerning the Force. The mystical and powerful aspects of the Force fascinated her, yet the materials available in Theed lacked substantial references to satiate her curiosity.
The Force's Pursuit
Driven by an insatiable curiosity and an unrelenting yearning to delve into the mysteries of the Force, Agate embarked on a quest to seek out the Jedi, the revered custodians of this elusive power. The popularity of the Jedi on the light side, with their dedication to peace and justice, deeply influenced Agate's choice. She believed, with unwavering conviction, that the Jedi's profound understanding of the Force held the key to the wisdom and enlightenment she fervently sought.
Beyond her passion for the Force lay a deep fascination with the myriad creatures dwelling beyond the confines of her homeworld, Naboo. Her affinity for creatures started with the majestic Guarlara, the mysterious beings that had been a part of her people's history for generations. As her journey unfolded, Agate's interest expanded to embrace the diversity of life across the galaxy. The interconnectedness of different species and ecosystems became a guiding force, shaping her perspective on conservation and the delicate balance of nature. This profound connection with the myriad creatures played a pivotal role in influencing her quest for understanding the Force and the cosmic knowledge she sought. A burning desire to explore and fathom the diverse life forms populating distant worlds intertwined seamlessly with her quest for understanding the Force. This symbiotic union, the intertwining of her thirst for cosmic knowledge and her fascination with the Force, laid the cornerstone for her odyssey as a Jedi.
While the Gua'lara Tribe also engaged in discussions about the Force, their focus leaned more towards the training of their members and fostering relationships with the Guarlara. The ancient bond between the tribe and the mysterious creatures shaped their teachings, emphasizing the interconnectedness of nature and the spiritual aspects of their unique connection with the Force. Agate's departure from conventional training within the tribe marked a divergence, a pursuit of knowledge that extended beyond the familiar territory of Guarlara Ranch.
First Contact with the Jedi
Locating the Jedi representative at Theed was facilitated by Naboo's political and trade prominence. The Jedi Embassy, situated near the Theed Royal Palace, was easily accessible. During her visit, Agate encountered Jedi Knight Aura Ta'var, a vibrant and wise mentor. Aura not only guided Agate to the Jedi path but also provided crucial insights and encouragement that had a profound impact on Agate's early experiences within the clan.
Under Aura's guidance, Agate learned about Kiast, the next destination on her journey. Despite some anxiety about leaving her home planet, Agate's eagerness for new adventures surpassed her apprehension. With mixed emotions, she set forth to the Naboo Space Station, commencing her journey to Kiast.
Arrival on Kiast
At the Jedi Praxeum on Kiast, she was greeted by members of Clan Odan-Urr, where Agate delved into Jedi teachings upon joining the clan. After acquiring fundamental Jedi knowledge, she dedicated her time to studying the archives. Subsequently, she was introduced to Master Sa Ool, who would instruct her in the art of lightsaber forms.
While training under Master Sa Ool, an esteemed lightsaber instructor catering to younglings and seasoned Jedi alike, Agate eagerly delved into mastering different forms of lightsaber combat. Starting with a practice blade and progressing to wield a real lightsaber, she honed her skills under Master Sa's tutelage, completing her basic training. However, her approach to lightsaber combat deviated from the norm; instead of pursuing mastery, she focused primarily on defensive maneuvers.
This unique inclination stemmed from Agate's unconventional priorities, different from the traditional Jedi training she had diverged from. Her investments in nurturing living creatures and preserving environmental balance stood as testament to her diverse interests, often deemed unconventional within the Jedi community. Despite her profound connection with the Force, Agate's approach to understanding and utilizing its power differed significantly from the common Jedi mindset. This marked her uniqueness in how she wielded the Force and her keen interest in less conventional aspects of the universe.
Exploring Solyiat
Agate's unconventional path, diverging from the typical Jedi training, propelled her into an extraordinary journey beyond familiar territories. Her proficiency as a creature handler became a guiding force, leading her to embark on a unique expedition to the distant planet of Solyiat. Once a pristine world teeming with natural wonders, Solyiat's landscape had undergone a rapid transformation due to rampant industrialization and the proliferation of mining complexes.
The allure of this distant realm, brimming with newfound regions and advanced technologies, drew Agate into uncharted territories. However, beneath the surface of progress lay a poignant reality – the exploitation of valuable resources had taken a toll on the planet's once-thriving ecosystems. As she ventured deeper into this altered world, Agate witnessed firsthand the stark contrast between technological advancement and the degradation of Solyiat's natural splendor.
The uncontrolled exploitation of Solyiat's resources led to the displacement of many native species. The creatures of Solyiat lost their homes as their habitats were destroyed to make way for mining operations. The Empire, seeking to assert control over the planet, resorted to manipulating the creatures using the dark side of the Force. This malevolent influence made the native beings more aggressive, and they began to attack local populations and sometimes even initiate incidents near mining facilities.
Agate found herself at the intersection of this environmental crisis and conflict. Her journey on Solyiat would not only test her abilities as a creature handler but also challenge her commitment to the conservation of the planet's unique ecosystems. The delicate balance between industrial progress, the dark influence of the Empire, and the preservation of Solyiat's natural wonders would shape the adventures that lay ahead.
Displaced Animals on Solyiat
The displaced animals, which lost their natural habitat and were influenced by the dark side, approached the local mines, injuring and killing some of the workers. Although many of the armed forces tried to kill the creatures, Agate and her team used their abilities to handle them. At some point, her new experiences in opposing the dark force made her unstable and fall into it. Once, she couldn't stand the dark influence, and in anger, she eliminated the animals. Although she could save the local residents' lives from the attack, from the viewpoint of creature handlers, the mission was considered a failure. Frustrated and depressed, she rested, meditated, and sought guidance.
One night, the hideous, Varritul terrified the colony. The creature handler team combined their abilities to communicate with and control the creature. The mission succeeded. The Varritul was successfully tamed and flew back to the mountainous region. Since then, many of the local residents have changed their perception of the creatures. They learned that the beasts had many similarities to other sentient beings. Therefore, the local residents respected the creatures and wanted to get to know them better.
The Sanctuary
The Creature Handler team established the Animal Sanctuary, offering aid and protection to distressed creatures—often afflicted by sickness, injury, entrapment, or the influence of the dark side. Once rehabilitated, these animals were released back into their natural habitats. Some chose to stay, becoming cherished companions or beloved pets. The community celebrated this as the Friends of Beasts Day, echoing the tales of Agate's ancestors who first tamed the Guarlara on Naboo. These events rekindled her deep bond with her home planet and ancestral legacy, solidifying her commitment to preserving nature and honoring familial values. This attachment significantly influenced Agate's perspective on and dedication to the conservation of wildlife and the environment.
Nature-Bound Apprenticeship
Agate paid a visit to her new master, V'yr Vorsa, to continue her Jedi training. During her time under Vorsa's guidance, she was introduced to Novnora, Vorsa's revered female Krayt dragon. Given her background as a creature handler, Agate easily formed a bond with Novnora, appreciating the creature's presence and connecting with it on a profound level.
Most of Agate's training sessions with Vorsa centered around physical exercises, but her closeness to Novnora added a unique dimension to her learning experience. The shared affinity for nature and wildlife, akin to V'yr Vorsa's passion, forged a special connection between Agate and the Krayt dragon, enriching her understanding of the natural world and deepening her Jedi training in unexpected ways.
Returned to Naboo
After her journey as a Jedi, Agate eventually returned to her home planet. There, she built a family with a partner who deeply understood the significance of the Gua'lara traditions to Agate. Together, they continued the strong traditions passed down by the ancient Gua'lara ancestors for generations, maintaining their bond with the Guarlara creatures and upholding the values of their family heritage.
Serenity at Home
Agate's final moments unfolded quietly within the confines of her home on the serene planet of Naboo. Surrounded by memories of her life's adventures, she peacefully departed, her spirit leaving an indelible imprint on the lands she had roamed and the creatures she had nurtured. Her passing marked the end of an extraordinary journey, yet her legacy of reverence for nature and her bond with the enigmatic Guarlara remained etched in the hearts of those who had crossed paths with her. As she transcended the mortal realm, Naboo mourned the loss of a steward of its natural wonders, honoring her memory for generations to come.

Guarlara in Art, History and Culture of Naboo
Prehistoric Era
Ancient Era
The roots of the escoffiate headpiece's origins can be traced during this era, initially donned by the Queen as an emblem of Naboo culture, in a simpler and more rudimentary design.
Classical Era
Medieval Era
Their depiction in these manuscripts provides profound insights into how they were perceived by the society, showcasing their beauty, magnificence, and their inseparable connection to Naboo's history and culture. The illustrations of Guarlara in the manuscripts hold high artistic value and offer deep cultural significance.
Stained glass was a prominent characteristic of art during the Medieval period, representing the advancement of art in that era on Naboo. It reached its pinnacle during this time, serving as the primary pictorial form used to illustrate narratives to the Naboo populace.
Stained Glass Art played a vital role in reflecting local cultural or historical values. It was employed to narrate significant legends or histories within Naboo's culture, visually depict ancient tales, and convey messages regarding unity, diversity, or the ethical values cherished by the Naboo community. Additionally, stained glass held significance in the architecture and embellishment of important structures across Naboo, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and grandeur of the designs.
These textiles were not merely decorative; they were repositories of Naboo's cultural heritage, encapsulating stories, myths, and historical events.
During this period, armor underwent significant refinement, extending to protective gear for Guarlara made from durable metals like steel and iron. These advancements encompassed protective armor for the head, chest, and various parts of the Guarlara's body. Concurrently, stirrups emerged as a revolutionary addition to Guarlara equipment, becoming a pivotal tool during the Medieval era. These footrests, attached to the saddle, provided riders with enhanced stability and control while mounted, fundamentally altering the practice of riding. The introduction of stirrups enabled knights to wield weapons more effectively, elevating their maneuverability and the overall effectiveness of cavalry units in battle. This seemingly simple yet ingenious addition reshaped the dynamics of mounted warfare, significantly contributing to the military advancements of the era.
Modern Era
The intricate details in Guarlara's depiction showcase the hallmark of Art Nouveau, where elaborate ornamentation meets the organic flow of nature's beauty. The application of this style to Guarlara celebrates the movement's influence, intertwining the creature's form with the exquisite finesse found in Art Nouveau's various artistic disciplines.
In the contemporary Guarlara riding world on Naboo, modern equipment emphasizes functionality and comfort for both rider and creature. Lightweight yet durable saddles, streamlined tack, and innovative Guarlara-specific apparel showcase a harmonious blend of advanced materials and ergonomic designs, ensuring optimum support without compromising the Guarlara's natural form. Stirrups, boots, and safety gear are crafted for rider comfort and Guarlara's safety, reflecting a commitment to seamless communication and a harmonious riding experience in Naboo's serene landscapes.
Rise of Avant-Garde Movement
Futurism, characterized by its emphasis on speed, dynamism, and technological innovation, dramatically transformed visual representations of Guarlaras, portraying them within contexts that embraced rapid change and dynamic forms.
However, the move towards Surrealism emerged from a desire to delve into the realms of the subconscious and explore deeper dimensions.
Varied Artistic Influences
Alongside avant-garde movements like Cubism, Futurism, and Surrealism, Naboo's modern art scene was influenced by several significant movements. Post-Impressionism expanded on the Impressionist style, focusing on emotional expression and a deeper exploration of Naboo's natural beauty. Expressionism conveyed subjective reality through vibrant colors and abstract forms, potentially reflecting the spiritual connection between Naboo's inhabitants and the native Guarlara. Fauvism embraced bold, non-realistic colors, mirroring the planet's diverse and vivid landscapes. Dadaism introduced an experimental edge, possibly exploring the surreal and futuristic aspects of Naboo's existence. Constructivism might have highlighted the blend of nature and advanced technology present on the planet. Lastly, Abstract Expressionism, pushed boundaries with spontaneous, gestural artwork, depicting emotional depth and possibly symbolizing the planet's evolving cultural and technological landscape.
Intergalactic Era
The advent of this epoch dawned with the arrival of sentient beings from distant planets, including humans from Grizmallt around 4000 BBY. This moment heralded an unprecedented era of interstellar connection and cultural amalgamation, weaving a cosmic tapestry of shared knowledge, beliefs, and technologies as societies encountered each other across galaxies. Revered as creatures deeply woven into everyday life, they transcend typical animal roles, embodying mystical and magical attributes in local folklore. Seen as guardians of nature or possessing special powers, Guarlara in these views are not merely livestock but beings with spiritual connections to the environment. Legends depict them communicating with natural forces or having unique ties to spiritual realms. This traditional perception emphasizes their role as mystical beings intertwined with daily existence, enriching local beliefs and cultural narratives.
Guarlara in Monarchical View
In the context of the Royal Naboo, guarlara were perceived beyond their animalistic traits; they were revered as symbols deeply embedded in status and exclusivity. To the Naboo royal family, guarlara stood as paramount status symbols.
This differs notably from traditional views where guarlara might have been seen as integrated into everyday life, accessible to the broader community.

Petrichor's Leadership Amidst the Ranch's Harmony
On a bustling morning at Gua'lara Ranch, Agate and Petrichor worked in harmony, tending to the Guarlara herd. However, an unexpected unease unsettled Petrichor as black clouds blanketed the sky, signaling adverse weather conditions.
Petrichor, a droid seldom displaying emotion, began picking up on imperceptible signals denoting weather shifts. Swiftly, he dispatched gentle yet resolute directives to the Guarlara droids, urging them to guide the herd into a pen for safety.
The signals relayed by Petrichor altered the coordination among the Guarlara droids. With this unforeseen leadership, they delicately steered the Guarlara back to their enclosure.
Petrichor proved not merely a signal transmitter but the leader who communicated and ensured the coordination of the Guarlara droids. This unforeseen response highlighted the significance of his role in maintaining the equilibrium between technology and nature at Gua'lara Ranch.
Pilgrimage to Equilibrium
Agate, a figure deeply connected to harmony and balance, embarked on a profound journey due to an internal sense of imbalance. This quest led her to the legendary river, Achates, where she sought restoration and equilibrium. The pilgrimage to Achates encapsulates Agate's pursuit of inner harmony, steeped in spiritual depth and a quest for balance within herself and the world around her.
In the sacred valleys of Naboo, nestled amidst the lush landscapes and serene beauty, lies the legendary river, Achates. Flowing gracefully through the heart of the Holy Valley, Achates carries with it an ethereal aura, whispered tales of healing, and the promise of restoration.
Alternate Stories
Life on the Smuggler's Moon
Naboo Corner
In an alternate story, the Gua'lara family chose not to raise their children on Naboo. Agate parents were drawn to trade and introduced Naboo culture off-world. They had a deep love for their own culture and a streak of adventure. Agate's mother had a true passion for the culinary arts. After marrying into the Gua'lara family and acquiring the Gua'lara name, they inaugurated their initial cantina right in the heart of Nar Shaddaa, a notorious hub within the vast criminal underworld of the galaxy. The establishment was crafted under a unique homeworld theme, aptly named 'Naboo Corner.' Instead of forsaking their roots, they proudly incorporated elements of their heritage, even choosing the majestic Guarlara creature as the emblem for their cantina.
Agate had never been particularly close to nature, and the idea of having a creature like Andrea was foreign to her. Despite being Force-sensitive, she never pursued the path of becoming a Jedi. Her upbringing was far from the idyllic natural settings of other Force users. Instead, she spent her early years on the bustling city-planet of Nar Shaddaa, often referred to as the "Smuggler's Moon." On Nar Shaddaa, urban sprawl covered every inch of the surface, leaving no room for the beauty of nature.
Her days were occupied with assisting her parents in running their cantina. However, as the years passed and the cantina expanded, Agate found herself with more free time. During these moments, she delved into her passion for art and craft. The cantina's unique theme was a magnet for visitors from all walks of life. Ordinary folks, merchants, businesspeople, smugglers, and even mercenaries frequented the establishment. This diverse clientele introduced her to a multitude of languages and cultures, broadening her horizons in the process.
The menu at the Naboo Corner was diverse, featuring everything from typical cantina fare to unique Naboo dishes. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with Naboo-inspired furniture and sculptures of native creatures. The decor featured soft, light colors, and the cantina stage was the highlight, often adorned with lively performances. The musical theme ranged from jazzy cantina tunes to Naboo's pop orchestral. On certain occasions, Twi'lek dancers and musicians took the stage, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Preserving Naboo Culture
Agate's parents passed down Gua'lara traditions to their children through stories, holograms, Guarlara miniatures, and books. Every year, they made a special trip back to their home planet, Naboo, to cherish moments with their extended family. They usually spent about a week at their relatives' house near Theed City. The stark contrast between Nar Shaddaa and Naboo often left her feeling both overwhelmed and conflicted. Despite a growing interest in Naboo, Agate found herself deeply entrenched in the urban lifestyle she had grown accustomed to. Although thoughts of settling on Naboo occasionally crossed her mind, the allure of urban living always beckoned her back.
Agate owned a white female Felinx named Bianca, affectionately referred to as Bibi. While they shared a certain level of companionship, Agate's busy life in Nar Shaddaa limited the depth of their bond compared to what it might have been had she lived on Naboo. Agate was deeply passionate about creativity, aiming to showcase Naboo's culture through her art. As she delved further into crafting, she became an active member of the Street Artist community. Her companion in this pursuit was an octohelper droid named Ozy, sporting eight tentacle-like extensions to assist Agate in her various tasks. Despite lacking human emotions, Ozy radiated a joyful demeanor, infusing an infectious spirit that enlivened the street art community with its vibrant presence.
Amid the perils of Nar Shaddaa, where the street art community faced challenges due to the criminal presence, Agate's life embraced diversity and adventure. Evenings often found her at nightclubs, socializing with friends like Citrine, a Cathar female medic and talented street artist associated with the notorious Shroud Syndicate.
Agate's artistic endeavors spanned a spectrum of mediums, ranging from traditional mural paintings to cutting-edge digital and electric art, even experimenting with neon creations. Immersed in the vibrant artist community, she found opportunities for collaborative projects that allowed her to contribute to larger, more impactful works. There were times when she immersed herself so deeply in her art that she spent days away from home to bring her creative visions to life. Despite the alternate story where Agate had less connection with nature on Nar Shaddaa, her urban surroundings fueled her creativity, encouraging her to think outside the conventional artistic boundaries.
Parallel Paths
"Parallel Paths" depicted the journey of two Agates from different dimensions, bringing together two separate realities. Their encounters served as a mirror to themselves, highlighting how their choices and backgrounds influenced the vivid painting that unfolded before them. This was a story of contrast and similarity, where separate lives raised questions about unexpected differences and unrealized possibilities.
Encountering oneself from another dimension can evoke profound intensity. It often ignites immense internal conflict, for witnessing an alternate version with divergent life choices serves as a poignant reflection of the potential outcomes had one followed a different path.
The Agates from each dimension might undergo a whirlwind of emotions: a curious intrigue about their alternate lives juxtaposed with feelings of melancholy or regret. This pivotal moment becomes a potent juncture, compelling them to confront the decisions that have shaped their lives, acknowledging the consequential nature of every choice made.
This encounter serves as a poignant juncture for Agates, prompting deep reflection on how their chosen paths have sculpted their present identities. It offers a gateway to newfound wisdom and self-awareness, fostering their evolution into more intricate and complete individuals.
Despite their vastly different backgrounds, the two versions of Agate from Naboo and Nar Shaddaa shared intriguing similarities. They both held a deep reverence for nature, cherished their family connections, and maintained a strong bond with Gua'lara culture.
Red Nose Tauntaun
The Red Nose Tauntaun was a fantastical character often seen alongside Agate within the Winter Wonderland theme during Life Day. This creature was renowned for its joyful nature and fearless spirit. Adorned in white fur, the Tauntaun sported a round, red nose. Its remarkable ability to fly made it a central figure in the exploration of the Winter Wonderland. Together with Agate, it would traverse the skies, contributing to their exhilarating escapades. Its legend became widespread not only across Naboo but also throughout various systems, captivating beings from different planets with its distinctive traits and thrilling adventures. The Red Nose Tauntaun became an emblem of joy and unity, transcending planetary boundaries, and becoming an integral part of Life Day celebrations across the Galaxy.
Winter Dream Encounter
During the Holidays, Agate read a story about Life-Day, her favorite being one about a red-nosed creature aiding a Force wielder in delivering gifts across the galaxy. That night, she dreamt of a White Life-Day filled with playful gingerbread cookies and a fantastical, flying Red Nose Tauntaun.
As they soared through the stars, Agate heard a mysterious sound but was abruptly awakened at 3 Standard Time by her holocomm. A voice requested help, leading her to investigate, lightsaber in hand, only to find no one except a mysterious man stuck in her chimney.
Believing him to be the mythical Master Nicol Klaus, Agate assisted him, and he magically shrank to free himself, presenting gifts for the children. Expressing gratitude, he hurriedly departed to continue his gift-giving rounds, leaving Agate in wonder about the surreal encounter.
