| It was 5 ABY. The Empire had been crushed and the New Galactic Republic was put into action, fighting the last remaining factions of Darth Sidious' fallen army, expelling them away from the threads of the galaxy. It was the dawn of a new Era.

| Incendus, a member of the renowned Sith bloodline of the Krayt Legacy, had been born in this year, during this time of opportunities, though he wouldn't be able to use all of them to his advantage. Since his second year alive, he had been trained to be an assassin, and it remained his occupation. At times in his life, he came to resent this job, though it would always come back to him. He worked for a secret society who claimed that their job was to rid Coruscant of corrupt politicians, gang leaders, all who would threaten this metropolis planet. One day, however, he learned that he had worked so long for the wrong side. A fellow assassin who worked for that order came to kill him, and almost succeeded. However, at the brink of death, the force revealed itself to him, and lightning shot from his hands, fatally injuring the enemy. Fearing for his life, he ran, leaving the assassin to die.

| In 36 ABY, he came to the Shadow Academy, where he was put into Clan Arcona and House Qel-Droma. When he was promoted to Acolyte, he was assigned to a master named Andrelious J. Inahj. | | In 27 ABY, Saal graduated from the Shadow Academy at the age of 15. He was selected to apprentice under Kamalis Creed, a Zabrak whose lineage traced back to Darth Kraygus, who was a Sith Lord and Wrath of an ancient Emperor. A cunning tactician and ruthless master, Creed would lay the political foundations of and set the stage for Kesyk’s rise to status and power within the Brotherhood. Under his tutelage, Saal Kesyk was trained to be a marauder and a ferocious force on the battlefield. Excelling in the dominant forms of Djem So and Juyo and possessing a natural aptitude for conjuring Sith Lightning, the young Sith quickly became outfitted as a weapon of warfare. |
| | |
| Inahj chose him because he saw potential in the young student. Incendus had already begun to demonstrate common early qualities of a Sith. His eyes flared with anger, reflecting years of abandonment and rage. Inahj was aware of his early history, of his training, of his force-sensitivity, and his carrying of the secret and traditional sword style, Krayt Jinn-Ryu. Though Incendus' Sith traits shown brightly on the outside, it was still easy to infer that he was still quite inexperienced in the Force. Even so, Inahj saw oppurtunity; for both himself, and for Incendus, but more importantly, for Arcona. If trained right, Incendus could be an everlasting asset to the clan and to the Sith order. If trained wrong, however, Incendus life would see a quick end.
| |
| | |
| However, the Sith Battlelord was correct. Incendus began to catch on fast. The strictness of his master seemed to further develop his strength and prowess in battle.

| == Operation Rolling Thunder ==
| |
| | |
| It was 36 ABY. The Chiss had a blockade keeping clan Arcona from a major route through the Dajorra System. Incendus and the other members of Shadow Gate were to rig the power cells of a space station to overload from a remote detonator. Scelestus gave the team positions: Zakath and Legorii were at the front, leading everyone through the attack; Incendus and Andraste Vivende were to watch the flanks so that the team wasn't surrounded; and Cethgus and Walker brought up the rear. Scelestus was to assist the front and to rig the subsystems to explode.
| |
| | |
| Everybody would board a gunship that would be carrying the team to the space station. Incendus carried a blaster and an electrostaff into battle. After landing into the hangar, Legorii and Zakath wasted little time to establish a beachhead inside the enemy's capital ship. After being scolded by Socorra Erinos, the agents took to a quieter approach.
| |
| | |
| The team had little resistance from the enemy, and what little that they had was quickly dispatched by Legorii and Zakath. There still a few close calls though. Andraste was hit by a blaster and Incendus was forced to hold them off until Scelestus could get to them with his lightsaber. Cethgus was nearly hit by a blaster turret. Incendus even came close to being shot in the head by a Chiss Officer.
| |
| | |
| Eventually, the team came found itself at an internal security checkpoint. The team was tired, desperate, and had no idea how to make their way past the bulkhead. Cethgus proposed slicing through the huge sealed door, but the team knew it would take too long. Eventually, it was proposed that one team member would be purposefully captured by the enemy, forcing them to open the door, thus giving the team an opening. Incendus volunteered.
| |
| | |
| As Walker and Cethgus returned with a swayed officer, Incendus and Zakath returned with another Chiss. While Andraste rested, Legorii and Scelestus revised the plan. The officers would bring Incendus into the checkpoint, unarmed and completely helpless, and as soon as the door opened, Legorii would lead the team to charge through and take out the Chiss guards.
| |
|
| |
| And the trap was sprung. As the guards dragged Incendus in, everybody else dropped through. To their surprise, there was a single Chiss besides the two carrying Incendus, his finger hovering over the button that would sound the alarm and ruin the entire mission. Incendus looked back at the rest of the team, and whatched their eyes widen. Legorii imediately aimed his blaster at the Chiss' head, and threatened him that if he pressed the button, he would lose his head. Incendus heard a gasp from Socorra through his HUD comlink, he heard the Chiss yell something in Cheunh, and then he heard the shot of a blaster. The dead Chiss fell to the floor, and the entire team exhaled in relief.
| |
|
| |
| Afterwards, the team took out the five remaining Chiss, and Scelestus split the team up to finish the mission. Andraste was to whatch the security monitors, Cethgus was to hack the computers and download every file that he could, Scelestus was sent to rig the cells, leaving Legorii, Zakath, and Incendus to guard and intercept anything that tried to stop them. After a few minutes dragged on, Scelestus, Andraste, and Cethgus appeared to the three, still in a defensive stance. When Scelestus let them know that the job was done and Cethgus announced that his work was done as well, They then made their way to the hangar, with Socorra's guidance.
| |
| | |
| The gunship was already there by the time that they arrived, a feeling of relief sweeping the team as they boarded it. Scelestus announced that the first round of drinks were on him.
| |

| == Trials of Loyalty ==
| |
| | |
| Incendus awoke to the sound of blaster fire. What he saw were many Triumvirate Soldiers piling into his safehouse. He picked up an electrostaff and got to work on the soldiers, but was outnumbered highly. Realizing that he was incapable of dispatching the immense quantity of soldiers, he leaped through the window, fleeing into the darkness.
| |
| | |
| After fleeing to the Epsilon 3, he received a message telling him to rendezvous with his master and Strategos. They were to retake Safehouse Jackson. Port Ol'val had been attacked by the Triumvirate of FOTW, the Besadii clan, and Mal Company. The Safehouse was covered by Lightspeed Ice Cream, a business that also sold cigars in secret.
| |
| | |
| He met up with his master, but Strat was not there. After spending some time in Jerem Plaza, his master found him, and Incendus and Andrel were to help Strat get a promotion within FOTW so that he would be given the shutdown codes to disable security functions.. After Andrel impaled the man who had Strategos' desired position, Strategos received the spot. After crawling through the ventilation system, Incendus reached the end, and eliminated a pair of FOTW workers. He was then paged by his master who had found Strat.
| |
| | |
| After meeting up, Strategos activated the codes that would eliminate the use of many defense systems against the three. Though, there was still the threat of the missile launcher. The team led an invasion through many rooms, leaving a trail of bodies behind them.
| |
| | |
| The next step would be a chaotic quarrel between the trio of Dark Jedi and the FOTW soldiers. As soon as the three opened the door to the room that would finish the mission, they were countered by a barrage of bullets. Strategos and Incendus would take out the shield battery while Andrelious went for the missile stations.
| |
| | |
| The Apprentice and the Adept were confronted by a Mandalorian, which was finished off by Incendus with the use of a turret that Strategos had re-activated. After they had destroyed the shield battery, Incendus continued to provide support from the turret while Andrel and Strat finished off the remaining missiles.
| |
| | |
| The room was a huge pile of rubble as a result of the chaos. Blaster shots and missiles had pounded the walls, fatally damaging the safehouse. It had been more superfluous than Marick would have wanted, but at least Shadow Gate had regained control of the safehouse. Incendus had become stronger, yet he realized that this wasn't the end of his improvement. His real opportunities lay on the horizon.

| |
| | |
| In 36 ABY, a deadly bio-weapon was released on the Planet Antei, and the planet fell to chaos. This plague caused those infected to lose their gradually lose touch with the force. Many Journeymen lost their minds within hours. However, Incendus did not, and was able to escape the planet alongside Andrelious and Sanguinius. Desperate for answers, and desperate for a safe haven, they fled to the Tarenti Star Destroyer, the Magnus Kaerner.
| |
| | |
| Upon arriving, there was some bitterness between the Arconans and the inhabitants of the ship. Though the two factions were allies according to the Estle-Eden Axis, There was still some suspicion present from the workers on board, especially from House Tarentum's famous "Firebird," Scion Altera. It had been arranged for the three Arconans to meet with him to discuss what was going on and how it was to be solved.

| | In 30 ABY, the Sith was given his first taste of warfare. Recovering from the Horizons Plague and Zoraan’s attempts at revenge, the Brotherhood now found itself in conflict with the One Sith. After Muz Ashen issued the order for the Brotherhood to conquer their new enemy, Kesyk was dispatched to aid the Arconan war efforts on Barghebba. After some time spent on the battlefield, Saal was tasked with a new mission. The Sith would operate within a covert Arconan strike team comprised of other Dark Jedi, their mission being to perform a raid on a Mecrosa outpost. |

| Incendus' training was finished. Andrelious sent him of to find the components needed to forge his weapon; His own, personal lightsaber.
| |
| | |
| After a long time of meditation, Incendus' journey led him borrow a shuttle to the planet Hoth, a barren land of snow and caves. It was on this desolate planet that one of the most historical battles between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire took place. The rage unleashed on this planet left it with a sort of hollowed inner core of darkness. To Incendus, this made it the perfect selection to find a wrathful yet standard lightsaber crystal.
| |
| | |
| Upon landing on Hoth, Incendus sent a relay message to Tsainetomo Keibatsu, the current Gatewarden of Shadow Gate, allowing the former-Sadowan to know of the operative's current location. It was important that tabs be kept on the members of the organization. The Zabrak hadn't made it far before finding a group of Barabel miners excavating crystals from a cave. It seemed that the Force had shown him to the right location. Ejecting his armory saber, he paced towards an unsuspecting Barabel from behind. It wasn't too long before the miner had reacted to the sound of the hissing saber, but it was, however, too late. The Hunter impaled the Barabel, who replied with a shriek. He was detected. It was now time for him to release every bit of rage he had left.
| |
| | |
| The Zabrak apprentice tossed one of the Barabel into the sky, using the Force to leap in midair and sever his prey's connection to the force. After landing back to the ground, he wasted no time to dispose of the rest of the miners. Impaling and beheading a select number of miners, he knocked out the remaining 15 and set them in the shuttle's prisoner hold. They would be sold to any crime lords found along the way back to Port Ol'val.
| |
| | |
| It wasn't long after beginning his search through the crystals that a bright yellow crystal beckoned the young Jedi. Taking it as his own, he assembled his weapon and started back to the shuttle. All of a sudden, he heard a rumbling sound, followed by a loud roar. The ground started to shake under his feet, and that's where he saw it. Slowly making it's way towards him was an Albino Rancor.
| |
| | |
| To Incendus, it seemed a fitting time to try out his new weapon, and a fitting addition to his final trial. He ejected his new sword. The delicate hiss and bright yellow hue of his blade filled the soon to be Knight with pride. Confident in himself, he rushed to battle. The rancor flung down it's large hand, attempting to smash the Zabrak under it's might. He dodged it and rolled between the creature's legs, turning around to shoot it's back with his blaster. The rancor howled with pain, obviously angered. It turned around to charge at the Dark Jedi. With precision and accurate timing, the Jedi leaped over the monster, stabbing it in the back and leaping away from it. The creature shrieked again, and before it could attempt a final attack, the Jedi pulled out his blaster again and released a string of shots to the white giant. Even though it was obvious that the rancor was doomed, it continued to try and carry itself on. Pacing towards Incendus for one last attack, Incendus used the force to pull the rancor down towards him. A succession of the power finally saw the rancor fall to the ground face-forward. Incendus carried himself to the now dead monster, relieving his blade from the creature's back.
| |
| | |
| This fight had done much to send Incendus even further into the Dark Side's fold. Returning to the ship, he set the shuttle on auto-pilot and, with complaints from his captives, ascended into space, and took what time he had to meditate on his new weapon.
| |
| | |
| Stopping on Tattooine to sell the Barabel miners he had taken prisoner to a Hutt, he found a blue-skinned Twi'lek slave. He was appealed by her beauty, and had the thought of buying her bouncing through his head. Though his master would more or less likely not encourage it, the Hunter did not care. In fact, the Hunter had his own plans for his master when he returned. He asked the Hutt how much she would cost. When he heard the reply, 9,000 credits, he tried to negotiate. When the Hutt would settle for no less, the young Zabrak ejected his lightsaber. The Hutt agreed to give the Twi'lek, who's name was revealed to be Cena, to him for free. She was taken to the ship, where she would later become a servant and assistant for the Jedi. Now it was time to return to Andrelious. He flew to the planet Selen, where his master awaited his return in an old motel currently being used as Shadow Gate's headquarters on the planet.

| | |
| Before putting his plan into action, the young Jedi reassembled his weapon with a new hilt and a new power cell. Andrelious would not be easy to take down. He was wise to upgrade. After his weapon was revamped, he strode down a corridor, into the chamber in which the Battlelord awaited. There was little dialogue before they engaged in battle, but when they were done exchanging, Incendus ejected his blade and charged at Andrel.

| Inahj chuckled as his own lightsaber sprung to his hands. He released his blade, it's crimson glow emanating through the dark room. The blades locked in battle, a shower of sparks falling with each strike. Eventually the Zabrak was overpowered. The Battlelord butted Incendus in the head with the back of his weapon. He then followed up by lifting the Hunter into the air and sending him flying into a table.

| Frightful
| | The strike team, composed of seven Dark Jedi, took heavy casualties, to the point that by the time the Arconans had infiltrated the stronghold, cleared it of enemies and deactivated the anti-aircraft artillery around the base to make way for Arconan freighters, there were only three remaining: Kesyk, a fellow Sith knight and an acolyte. Upon completion of the mission, Kesyk plunged a Mecrosan dagger from a nearby corpse into the acolyte’s heart. Being the strongest warriors of the group, Kesyk and the knight had plotted to provide minimal aid and coverage to their allies, allowing their comrades die and even killing some in the midst of the chaos so that they could thin out some of the weaker Sith competition within their ranks. Kesyk and his master also believed that a scroll containing the teachings of Darth Kraygus, and hinting at the location of his scattered strongholds, was stored within the confines of the warehouse, which had supposedly been one of the Sith Lord’s safe houses in his time. After locating and recovering it through the Force, Kesyk and the knight made a pact of silence, agreeing to contend that their allies had fallen to the Mecrosa’s defensive tactics and that only they had survived. This raised the eyebrows of some Arconan military officers, as the strike team was considered sufficient in size and was expected to make easy work of this operation, but Kamalis Creed’s influence within this Arconan military ranks allowed him to keep the results of the operation under the radar. Together, he and his apprentice planned to work in the shadows to locate the vast resources that Darth Kraygus was said to have left behind, and use it to build their own Sith Empire under his teachings, unbeknownst to the other members of the Brotherhood. |
|
| |
|
| Incendus' first wraith upon reaching Knighthood is reffered to as "Frightful," because of the sheer anger that is poured into it's formation when summoned. It resembles a large eagle, it's screech as sharp as it's talons. It's potential asset is it's ability to dissapear from one location and suddenly materialize in another, also known as teleportation. It's basic attack is to swoop down in an attempt to engulf it's "prey" completely with it's dark energy. It also has an almost deafening screech that can be utilized to cause a destraction to, agitate, intimidate, or even severely damage(when close enough) the hearing of it's enemy.
| | A few weeks after the raid on Barghebba, the Sith Knight who had plotted with Kesyk was found dead under suspicious circumstances involving a spice overdose. |

| | Through years of hard training and participation in various Arconan military operations, Saal rose through the ranks and eventually surpassed the rank of Knight. In the shadows, he and his master worked to build the foundations for an extensive network of spies, allied politicians, and a plethora of unsavory black market connections. This network reached across the galaxy, and would serve as both an important intelligence-gathering effort for the Sith duo and as a channel of power which they would use to excel in their goals. Eventually, this would lead to the creation of the pirate organization known as Black Flag. |
|

| Incendus has mastered the following:
| | == Ascension == |

| *Broken Gate
| | By the time of 42 ABY, Kesyk had become disillusioned with his place in Clan Arcona. Annoyed at the Clan’s tilt towards a more “gray” approach to the Force, coupled with his disdain of the unit’s decisions to not only welcome Jedi to join Arconan ranks, but to take on leadership roles, Saal disappeared from Selen and surrounding airspace. Eventually, Arconan intelligence revealed that the missing Sith had resurfaced on the planet Aliso. |
|
| |
|
| *Hapan
| | Seeing the newly reformed and momentum-gaining Ascendant Clan as a better means through which to expand his power base, the Sith Warrior had chosen to abandon the Shadow Clan that he had known for so long, sympathizing with Clan Plagueis’ expansionist policies and their aggressive interpretation of the Final Way Doctrine that was first conceived by Kane Vader. Though the Plagueis’ summit was hesitant to accept him, due to their foreknowledge of his actions within Clan Arcona and his willingness to turn his back on the unit, they ultimately recognized his capabilities as a potential asset and chose to bring him into the Plagueian ranks. Over time, he began to forge connections with other members, like the then-proconsul Nora Olen and the Quaestor of House Ventress, Tahiri. Eventually, he would be dispatched on a mission to Nar Shadaa, along with TuQ'uan Varick, with the aim of discovering the location of the then-missing Consul of Plagueis. |

When it was clear that she had gone missing, Plagueian leadership wasted no time, immediately making the recovery of their consul a priority search. Saal and his assassin droid Dex accompanied his proconsul, TuQ’uan Varick, to Nar Shadaa, investigating a lead from one of Varick’s underworld contacts. |

| | With his master out of the picture, Saal would now hijack Creed’s plans to usurp the Sith and usher in a new Sith Empire, completely hidden from the prying eyes of those within the ranks of the Brotherhood. Recognizing his need for manpower, the Sith laid the foundations for Black Flag, a loose coalition of pirate groups, smugglers, and other criminal elements. In an effort to keep himself from being publicly tied to the organization, he worked behind the scenes to install the ruthless raider, Thaddon, as the group’s leader, fashioned as the “Pirate King.” While Saal does not directly lead the organization, he was responsible for putting it together, and as such, he would continue to partner with Thaddon, calling on him for aid in accomplishing his power plays and furthering his political goals through the use of underground elements. |

A few weeks after the raid on Barghebba, the Sith Knight who had plotted with Kesyk was found dead under suspicious circumstances involving a spice overdose.
Building a Network
Through years of hard training and participation in various Arconan military operations, Saal rose through the ranks and eventually surpassed the rank of Knight. In the shadows, he and his master worked to build the foundations for an extensive network of spies, allied politicians, and a plethora of unsavory black market connections. This network reached across the galaxy, and would serve as both an important intelligence-gathering effort for the Sith duo and as a channel of power which they would use to excel in their goals. Eventually, this would lead to the creation of the pirate organization known as Black Flag.
Ascension
By the time of 42 ABY, Kesyk had become disillusioned with his place in Clan Arcona. Annoyed at the Clan’s tilt towards a more “gray” approach to the Force, coupled with his disdain of the unit’s decisions to not only welcome Jedi to join Arconan ranks, but to take on leadership roles, Saal disappeared from Selen and surrounding airspace. Eventually, Arconan intelligence revealed that the missing Sith had resurfaced on the planet Aliso.
The Missing Consul
In 42 ABY, the consul of Clan Plagueis, Selika Roh, disappeared from Plagueian airspace, leaving behind no trail or hint of her whereabouts.

The Rise of Black Flag
