| Varuk Kru is a Loyalist Commander. A former Dark Jedi once in service to Clan Taldryan, Kru was stripped of his connection to the Force by a horrific accident that also left him confined to a suit of armour. A former Keeper of the Holocrons, the Ace now serves Clan Naga Sadow alongside his Wookiee companion Krryarl and can usually be found behind the controls of his personal ship the Imperialis or dispatched in one of the Damnation's TIE Defenders. | | Zxyl Bes'uliik, also known as the Iron Beast of Manday'aim, Breaker of Bones, and the Naur'alor, is a non Force-sensitive Mandalorian General and genetically-altered Dathomirian Nightbrother who has the distinction of being the longest serving Regent of the Brotherhood before he was succeeded by Thran Occasus. He is an enigmatic figure of two unique heritages, born on the desolate planet Dathomir before being cast out into the wild lands and rescued by the Mandalorians of Clan Bes'uliik, who adopted him as a Foundling and brought him to their ancestral homeworld of Nau'ur where he was instructed in their ancient knowledge of beskar forging practices, cultures, lore, and combat and war tactics. |
|
| |
|
| | He is an incredible weaponsmith and Mandalorian Armorer, blending knowledge of arcane forging practices with that of those of the Mandalorians and Perideans. He has allies across the Brotherhood, including Voice of the Brotherhood Idris Adenn, who recruited him to the Brotherhood after spending time together as bounty hunters on the Outer Rim world of Batuu. |

| == Biography ==
| | Bes'uliik has the distinction of being the longest serving Regent of the Brotherhood before he was succeeded by Thran Occasus Palpatine, and one of if not only known Scions of Taldryan to have given up the Clan Taldryan namesake of Taldrya to pursue his own ends away Taldryan. He has served in a variety of positions, including the first Praetor to the Regent, Taldryan Proconsul, Naur'alor of Clan Bes'uliik, and straight up badass. |
| === Before Darkness ===
| |
|
| |
|
| Not much is known about Varuk Kru's time before the Brotherhood. He was born on his species homeworld Umbara just prior to the destruction of the DS-2 Battle Station and raised there by an Imperial science officer - a weapons developer in service to Umbaran-Imperial technical cooperation. His mother died during childbirth, leaving him to be raised in a strict doctrine by his father Tarvad who believed that one day a new Empire would emerge.
| | = Biography = |
| | = Knowledge, Abilities & Traits = |
| | == Knowledge == |
| | Zxyl contains a vast myriad of knowledge across several topics and both the Mandalorian and Dathomirian cultures through years of intense training, research, and indoctrination. |
|
| |
|
| Varuk proved as a young-ling he would be an adept pilot and adequate engineer in his own right, grabbing the hydropsanner when he was four. As he entered his teenage years he began to assist his father in his technical endeavours, while undergoing a strict training regiment instituted by Tarvad to keep him sharp. Little compassion was shared between the two, leading to an almost-icy relationship. On his fourteenth birthday the young Umbaran absent-mindedly called his lucky hydrospanner to his hand with the Force. The incident was later repeated, and Kru realized he had been different all along.
| | Having been raised by the Mandalorian Armorers of the hidden beskar-veined Mandalorian world Nau'ur as a Foundling, Bes'uliik is familiar with the ancient history, cultures, and lore of his adoptive people including the Mandalorian Code and Way of the Mandalore. He was instructed in a vast array of Mandalorian-related topics during his adolescence including but not explicitly limited to their ancient forging practices of beskar, Mandalorian combat tactics and war histories, advanced metallurgy and experimental engineering. He has been known to use this knowledge to guide and aid wayward Mandalorians, acting as a steward for any that require the knowledge he has. He is incredibly knowledgeable in the Mandalorian Creed, Way of the Mandalore, and various Mandalorian Codes such as the Mandalorian Code of Combat. |
|
| |
|
| Afraid of what his father might think of his ability, Varuk hid the incident from his father and continued on his with his daily routine - practising patiently and carefully at night when he was alone in the bedroom. With no additional teaching his abilities failed to fully develop during this time, restricting him to basic movements with telekinesis. When Varuk was sixteen, Tarvad suffered a fatal heart attack that took his life and left Kru with a small estate.
| | Despite his indoctrination into the Mandalorian religion, to which he has a strong preference given his tumultuous history on the planet Dathomir, this genetically-altered Dathomirian has not forgotten his heritage and where he came from. He has learned the ancient culture and lore of the Dathomirian people, including the ancient forging techniques and practices used on the Zabrak's ancestral homeworld of Peridea, as well as their Magick. |
|
| |
|
| Selling off whatever remained of the estate the young Umbaran purchased an old, used Corellian freighter at a huge and overpriced amount thanks to his naive negotiation skills and youth. He set off for his own adventure to explore the inner and outer reaches of the galaxy. Kru spent three months exploring the Inner Rim among traditional hyperspace routes, two in the Core Worlds, and several months in the Outer Rim as he worked to develop his skills as both a pilot and engineer.
| | Zxyl Bes'uliik uses his knowledge to gain advantage, lead the Mandalorians of Clan Bes'uliik who follow him, and forge both alliances and gear. He is fluent in several languages, such as Ancient Mando'a and Dadita used by the Mandalorians, Peridean as used by the Dathomirians, the general Zabraki language, Galactic Basic, Binary, and the ancient Sith language of ur-Kittât. |
|
| |
|
| During his travels Varuk's power in telekinesis slowly grew although he remained novice in any other aspect of Force usage. Almost a year after he set off on his journey Varuk began exploring his home region where the Ghost Nebula lie, the Expansion Region of known space. In mid-21 ABY he stumbled upon the Kr'Tal System, and was taken for questioning aboard a Taldryan Navy vessel soon after entering the foreign and unfamiliar system. Varuk spent several hours in a holding cell. The Umbaran spent most of the time explaining his identity and his past - all of which was double checked and verified by Taldryan's intelligence services.
| | == Abilities == |
| | Bes'uliik has near unparalleled skills inside a forge, a master of crafting. He is incredibly adept in arcane, ancient Dathomirian, and ancient Mandalorian forging techniques, and he can craft nearly any article - of war or otherwise - desired by those that request and are worthy of his services as The Naur'alor. the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member of Clan Bes'uliik - which he now leads since their reformation. He has used his incredible skills as a Mandalorian Armorer to craft various armors for Mandalorians across the Brotherhood, including the likes of Idris Adenn, Appius Wight, both of whom he considers brothers, and others. He has crafted numerous things, and spends most of his time behind a workbench. |
|
| |
|
| Fearing he had to take measures into his own hands to escape Varuk deployed his abilities in telekinesis to overpower the guards and attempt an escape. As he made it out into the hallway he was confronted by a Dark Jedi brandishing a blood red lightsabers and easily overpowered by the trained follower of the dark side. When he awoke his mind was probed by an Elder to determine no malicious intent and better yet, no training in the Force. Once he was cleared of any previous unlawful actions and proved he had nothing to lose, the Dark Jedi offered him a place in Taldryan where he could develop his powers and earn great power.
| | As a Dathomirian by birth, Zxyl can rely on his incredibly limited practical knowledge of ancient Shadow Magick to assist in things such as looking into the future, amplifying his natural abilities beyond their normal capabilities, and moving objects with telekinesis. He is a natural born leader, deploying his high intellect acumen and leadership skills to lead those that follow him with resolute honor that supersedes even his own desires. |

| === Incursion ===
| | Like most Nightbrothers - and Mandalorians - he has a penchant for combat and is able to deploy a wide range of combat abilities, tactics, and weapons to combat his enemies, using his incredible resolve to stay resolute in even the most toughest of battles or wars. The Mandalorian General is a capable lightsaber duellist who has intensively studied the Vapaad and Djem So lightsaber forms, and frequently uses his various light-weapons such as his triple-phase lightsaber and hidden lightsaber vambrace to deadly effect. While he has also learned the ancient art of Trakata, Bes'uliik does not rely solely on light-weapons as his only means of combat; capable of deploying a myriad of weapons effectively such as blasters, his gravity hammer and custom Mandalorian vambrace, as well as bladed weapons to deadly effect, often dual-wielding his assorted weaponry. |

|
| Kru agreed, and joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Following tradition, he was dropped off via shuttle on the surface of Lyspair and made the journey to the Shadow Academy. The Test of Lore was administered and passed, with Varuk being indoctrinated into the Brotherhood as a Journeyman. All of his possessions were surrendered to the coffers of the Dark Brotherhood and started his new career with nothing - the bottom of the food chain. Returning to Taldryan led the Umbaran to attend and graduate the Taldryan Military's training institute on Karufr. Kru transfered to the Dark Prophet as part of one of her starfighter wings while he continued his studies. Immediately upon joining the crew of the vessel they attended a military ceremony meant to honour the winners of the recent Rite of Supremacy - Second Darkness.
| | Although relatively on par with the physicality of a seasoned soldier, Bes'uliik is astonishingly strong and can deploy that might at a moments notice, earning him the title of The Breaker of Bones. |
|
| |
|
| Forces from several of the Brotherhood's clan's attended the awards ceremony meant to celebrate the three victors, held just outside The Shroud. As the festivities were underway and recognition being given by the Sith, an alien race devoid of the Force commanding a fleet more than twice the size of the present forces launched an all out assault on the Brotherhood vessels. With this the Eighth Great Jedi War begun, the Dark Prophet sacrificing herself as a retreat order into The Shroud was given by the leadership.
| | = Equipment = |
| | The equipment listed here is Zxyl's most used equipment, although he is not strictly limited to this list and often deploys whatever equipment is most suitable for a given situation. |
|
| |
|
| Varuk was one of several pilots able to successfully launch their craft before the Victory-class Star Destroyer suffered catastrophic hull failure and vented her innards into space, and successfully made a return to the Venator-class Star Destroyer Katarn which itself had suffered incredible damage and had almost failed to make the retreat. During the trip back to Antei the Umbaran served as an engineer aboard the limping cruiser until it was able to regroup with other forces. Later on, the Dark Lord of the Sith Aristan Dantes would call for a complete retreat from Antei, leading a full abandonment of the planet and the Shadow Academy on it's moon.
| | === Traditional Mandalorian Equipment === |
|
| |
|
| During the aftermath of the assault and loss of the Brotherhood center of power, Varuk returned with his fellow naval comrades and Dark Jedi back to the Kr'Tal System. A short time after the Umbaran pilot returned the Cotelin-class Star Destroyer Justice was commissioned by Taldryan's leadership. Kru's next posting as a military officer would be the Justice, his potential as a pilot not un-noticed.
| | ==== Ancient Mandalorian Beskar'gam ==== |
| | Originally crafted by a long-dead member of Clan Bes'uliik for an ancient Manda'lor, the armor was returned to the ancestral homeworld of Zxyl's clan eons ago. When he finally graduated from Foundling to full fledged Mandalorian he was gifted the armor by his adoptive father, Krast Bes'uliik, to which the younger Bes'uliik modified to suit his purpose. The armor itself has gone through three major iterations since his first interaction with the Brotherhood, starting from its initial form to the armor he presently wears - consistently pulling from ancient Mandalorian designs and armors as he continously upgrades and modifies it to suit his abilities, standing, and crafting acumen. The present armor is a heavily custom armored beskar exoskeleton, and eschews a few traditional Mandalorian pieces for those that are completely custom. His armor does not bear the Ka'rta (or Mandalorian Iron Heart) in its typical place on his chestplate, as it is formed from three separate pieces. Instead the Iron Heart is located in a buckle on a strap used to secure the large pauldrons of ancient Manda'lors to his chestplate. |
|
| |
|
|
| | His helmet also follows the designs of ancient Manda'lors such as Mandalore the Ultimate, primarily gold in color with an underlying dark gunmetal grey piece that forms the main shell of the helmet. Expandable slots for his beskar and cerakote-crafted horns that open and close around them to seal the helmet from atmospheric pressure changes have been integrated into the "crown", allowing him to wear the helmet. The suit is crafted entirely from the purest alloys of the rare metal beskar and is both lightsaber resistant and capable of entering through all classes of atmospheres during an orbital drop, offering near unparalleled protection to the wearer. It is synced with his custom Mandalorian Vambrace Gauntlet to offer a unique armor combination. |
| Varuk spent a year aboard the Cotelin-class destroyer as a regular pilot, branching out slowly as a Dark Jedi and improving his abilities with practice. He occasionally assisted the engineers by lending an extra hand on repairs and maintenance when he could spare the time. A large portion of his time however was spent inside the flight simulators, practising his skills in an effort to perfect them. The Umbaran quickly became known as a reputable squadron mate and enjoyed his relaxed position aboard the cruiser even as Operation: Swift Justice was underway.
| |
|
| |
|
| === A New Journey ===
| | Zxyl's beskar'gam is entirely unique to him and him alone, featuring a design not seen anywhere else. Several unique upgrades have been made to the once archaic armor to bring it in line with his own rigiorus standards such as knee-pad rocket darts, a specialized utility arm hidden in one of the pauldrons to assist him in a multitude of technical tasks, and a miniaturized hypermatter reactor built into the chestplate to power the armor. An artificial intelligence system has been integrated into the helmet, and has access to the wide range of sensors present in the beskar'gam. The Helpful Artificial Lackey (or H.A.L.) can control all armor systems including his jetpack, either solely at its own loyal discretion or Bes'uliik's command. It can communicate with him both verbally through spoken word or visually through indicators, alerts, and text on his heads-up display. |
| Once his year long stint aboard the Justice had concluded, Varuk left military service to earn his own lightsaber through Knighthood. He was provided standard lightsaber parts by the office of the Herald, and forced a blood red blade from the kyber as he made it to bleed with the pain of his childhood. Once in possession of his Knight lightsaber, the Dark Jedi took a complete leave from the Brotherhood as a whole. The piloting ace left in search of knowledge relating to the early days of the Brotherhood and the dark side of the Force in general to understand and better learn on his own terms; as he always had. The pilot was joined shortly after he started his adventure by a Wookiee named Krryarl - saving him from capture and possible death at the hands of crafty slavers who had managed to subdue him. Indebted, Krryarl pledged a life debt to the Umbaran Dark Jedi with the promise to do as he wished.
| |
|
| |
|
| During their travels it was revealed early on the black furred Wookiee was also a Force-sensitive, allowing the two to discover new mysteries and train as a pair. Over a period of several months they traveled to other worlds including the long-ruined temple on Malachor, beginning to gather trinkets and tokens of their journey along the way.
| | ==== Custom WESTAR-35 Blaster Pistol ==== |
|
| |
|
| Varuk and Krryarl recovered several relics and two items of note during their adventure. The first was an ancient Wookiee Ryyk Blade in the Kashyyk Shadowlands - a blade that once belonged to Krryarl's tribe and their ancestors. Although studying the Force intently, the black furred creature was still bent on sticking to the traditions he had followed for decades. On another journey they recovered a rusty set of silver armour from a lifeless desert planet, belonging to an Ancient Sith soldier. A derelict relic at this point, the armour was comprised of simple armour plates and a helmet featuring a large black one-way visor for optimal view of the battlefield. It was unlikely that they could completely restore the original armour and instead did what they could to preserve what remained of it in a glass case aboard their vessel.
| | ==== Beskar Gravity Hammer ==== |
|
| |
|
| Following the recovery of these items and their quest for greater knowledge of the Ancient Sith slowly being satisfied, Krryal and Kru returned to Brotherhood space, with Varuk returning to Taldryan and rejoining the Navy once more. Shortly after returning he was elevated into the Equite ranks - and almost three years after the fall of Antei, another war would break out on the planet's surface.
| | ==== Beskar Spear ==== |
|
| |
|
| === Unification === | | ==== Mandalorian-style Rifle ==== |
| In 24 ABY the reigning Grand Master Muz Ashen hatched a plan with his assembled Dark Council to retake the center of Brotherhood power - the dark planet Antei. Suspecting the planet to still be under control of the Force-devoid alien race, he ordered the Clans to return to the planet with their forces and initiated the Ninth Great Jedi War conflict. When they arrived, they found the planet to be absent of the aliens and instead occupied by Omancor Crask and his droid army. The Dark Council initiated an assault, and as Taldryan was thrust headfirst into the conflict the Umbaran joined them on the ground temporarily - fighting outside his comfort zone and combating the likes of B-1 Battle Droids during the beginning of the conflict. As the fighting intensified Varuk removed himself from the closer aspects of the battle and instead returned to the rear, where he could faciliate access to a starfighter.
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| Brotherhood Dark Jedi and soldiers alike began to force their way through Crask's droid army, a good sign from Taldryan's standpoint. Varuk took to the skies in a bomber, participating in bombing runs against enemy forces. keeping Taldryan forces moving forward. Their battle plan was immaculate, leading to few losses of their own. The campaign to retake Antei was succeeding successfully, and Kru had been dealt little injury so far in the conflict.
| | === Light Weaponry === |
|
| |
|
| That would change shortly before the end of the necessicity for bombing runs against enemy forces, with Varuk being shot out of the sky by the droid army from the ground. A missle launched from Antei's surface had colided with the right side of his starfighter, shredding the hull and ripping it open - taking the Umbaran's right arm below the eblow in the process. The bomber suffered an immediate catastrophic failure and plummeted into Antei's hard surface. The collision crumpled what remained of the hull, trapping an injured and unconscious Umbaran pilot inside to burn.

| After a lengthy rescue effort the Dark Jedi was pulled from the wreckage of the bomber by Iron Legion forces and thrown on an LAAT transport to the closest medical facility in the nearby Brotherhood fleets. With near fatal burns having eaten a hole through his chest cavity, a missing arm from the impact of the missile, and shredded legs from the collision with the surface, Kru barely survived the medical evacuation.
| | ===== Design ===== |
| | Peridea is an ancient Dathomirian lightsaber forged eons ago by one of the first Night Mothers to make the great journey from the Zabrak's inter-galactic ancestral homeworld of Peridea to the planet Dathomir in the Known Galaxy and is named in honor of that ancestral homeworld. It was constructed by the unknown Night Mother partially as a test of her abilities to mix her traditional Magick with the mainstream lightsaber, and could have been considered technologically advanced at that time. |
|
| |
|
| Varuk was dropped onto a surgical table the moment he arrived at the nearest Brotherhood vessel, still unconscious from the crash. He awoke as he was undergoing a painful medical procedure to repair any open holes in his chest cavity and install a temporary life support system that could ensure his survival in a bacta tank, barely able to breath and full of pain medication that inhibited his ability to feel the Force. The medical team working on his body also fitted him with a basic cybernetic appendage to his right forearm at the end of the surgery, and placed the burnt Umbaran inside a bacta bath. Kru would miss the conclusion of the war as he underwent a slow recovery, Krryarl awaiting his companion's return.
| | The hilt design is completely custom made and considered one-of-a-kind, with the casing constructed using a mix of Phrik and traditional Nightsister alloys to create an ichor-imbued Phrik-alloy casing. The weapon bears a weathered look, with dark grey plating and angular lines - including the dagger like emitter shroud. About thirty percent of the hilt is curved for the user's hand, with a multi-activation switch assembly that activates the lightsaber on the inside edge of the concave. Affixed to the weapon is a traditional crimson fabric of Dathomiri Spider-silk woven by the Nightsisters wrapped around around the bottom seventy percent of the hilt, hanging off loosely at the bottom. |
|
| |
|
| As Kru lay floating in the bacta tank and his pain medication slowly wore off, he was still unable to feel the whisper of the Force at his side. Although he meditated and centred himself tirelessly during his recovery he could not call it to his side - the realization that the near-fatal starfighter crash had somehow stripped him of his connection to the Force decimated him. The Umbaran put his intact mind to work, striving tirelessly to devise a plan to return to his former mobility and free himself from the bacta tank. Not long after the end of the war Kru received a message from the Herald, Shikyo Keibatsu.
| | ===== Unique Characteristics ===== |
| | This weapon is by design a dual-phase lightsaber weapon via a dual-phase emitter matrix, capable of producing a lightsaber blade or firing bolts of lightsaber energy at reduced power compared to the strength of the blade. |
|
| |
|
| The Dark Councillor had heard of the near-fatal crash sustained by the Umbaran and expressed intent on helping in his recovery using technological means. The Son of Sadow took the relic Sith armour provided from the glass case aboard Varuk and Krryarl's freighter as payment, and used that relic as a baseline design for a custom life support armour that would ensure the former Dark Jedi's return to work in almost any environment, including space. The encapsulating life support armour was created with dark armour plating etched with ancient text and incorporated Varuk's native technology into the suit at his request to maximize compatibility with any later modifications he might perform. This armour was custom fitted to the Umbaran's body and a life support system tailored to his injuries installed. To ensure Varuk would be able to repair the armour himself, an easy-access for maintenance mentality was used in the suit's construction.
| | When activated in its primary mode using the main portion of the multi-activation switch the ancient Peridean runes along the upper most portion of the emitter shroud - which is angular in design instead of round like a traditional lightsaber - begin to glow an ichor-green, with the emitter producing a sword blade shape similar to the Darksaber. The outer edges as well as the bottom half of the blade's core are a sickly ichor-green and put off a green smoke, with the ichor-green in the core fading to an onyx black further away from the emitter matrix. |

| === Thirst for Knowledge ===
| | When a lightsaber bolt is fired in its secondary mode using the second portion of the multi-activation switch the ancient Peridean runes pulse an ichor green whenever the Tainted Nightsister Crystal is harnessed, with a bolt of ichor-green colored and weakend lightsaber energy then launching from the emitter. |
| The Umbaran spent what seemed like ages inside the bacta tank before he was finally able to be free of it, full of anger at his position. The process of moving from the cold liquid to his new suit of armour was uncomfortable and would be every other time he would need to undergo the procedure, with some of the armour's components grafted directly to Kru's skin. The armour was cumbersome, and permanently restricted some of Varuk's range of movement. Coming to the realization that he would be confined to the metal suit for the rest of his life, and without the help of the Force, the pilot struggled to accept the new reality and lashed out because of it. With a dark modulated voice, he called blasphemy on his new reality.

| His senses were duller and much less refined; his combat skills also having suffered as a result of the severance, fighting with nowhere near the same efficiency in lightsaber combat. His original red-bladed lightsaber had been lost during the crash on Antei, and was provided a pre-made yellow-bladed replacement by the Herald's office since he could no longer activate the kyber crystals himself. While still a successful fighter, he was nowhere near the level of combatant he once was. He attempted to return back to military service but failed to hold discipline, and instead left Brotherhood space with a hunger; a hunger for more knowledge on the Force and the possibility of regaining his connection to it. After discussing the journey with his Wookiee friend, he set off without him.
| | ===== History ===== |
|
| |
|
| While his journey of solitude was lonely at times, it helped the Umbaran remain focused on the task at hand. He revisited all of the previous sites he had once ventured to with Krryarl in an attempt to spur his connection once more, with the idea failing to come to fruition. The adventure took him to the planet Jakku when he found records of a pre-Imperial construction project undertaken during Palpatine's reign as Chancellor of the Galactic Republic hidden away in an old data archive.
| | ====== Prior to Ownership Under Zxyl Bes'uliik ====== |
| | Peridea was constructed on the planet Dathomir thousands of years ago by an Unknown Night Mother after her journey from the lightsaber's namesake to Dathomir and the emergence of stable light-weapon technologies, believing that although their Shadow Magick was unique and strong that they needed to be prepared for any threat against their coven. She forged it using a diamond-shaped kyber crystal corrupted by her Magick as its heart and a unique combination of Phrik and ichor-imbued traditional Nightsister metal to form a Phrik-alloy casing as its outer shell. |
|
| |
|
| The Umbaran recalled at one point there was a large Imperial-Alliance battle over Jakku and went to investigate his findings. The former Dark Jedi discovered after travelling to the location of the site an underground built into the planet's crust itself, one of Palpatine's Observatories.
| | Although the weapon was decried as heretical by her fellow sisters, the Night Mother retained ownership for nearly a century before her demise of old age, at which point the weapon passed to her daughter. This ownership cycle continued with the weapon remaining relatively unused and kept as a family artifact. During the High Republic its owner, a Nightsister in the upper echelons of their coven, passed the weapon to her mate after he won her hand in a performance of the arena. A slave captured from a rival Dathomiri clan, she broke traditional Nightsister coven norms by engaging in a full marriage with the Zabrak male. Her mate fully devoted himself to the ways of the Nightbrothers, using Peridea in countless skirmishes to dominate his opponents and realise the potential of the dual-phase lightsaber. He used it to eventually take leadership of the Nightbrothers, whom he and his Nightsister wife kept subordinate to the Nightsister witches. |

| After cutting into and accessing the facilities supercomputer and retrieving the flight path discovered into the Unknown Regions, he learned that the Emperor's personal yacht the Imperialis had once been docked at the Observatory two decades earlier. Unaware there were other similar facilities scattered across the galaxy, Kru took reference of the vessel's name and set off on the months-long journey calculated by the Observatory alone under the belief that his answers may lie in the Unknown Regions as the Emperor once thought.
| | Prior to their deaths the lightsaber - ancient by this time - was locked away in a hidden redoubt in the Dathomir wastelands The redoubt was found by Zxyl Bes'uliik centuries later during 41 ABY after one of his expeditions to his home planet and taken by him to serve as a mark of and to honor his Dathomiri heritage. |
|

|
| An internal hunger for more answers and knowledge slowly began to overtake the pilot, leaving him insatiable. His personality became centred on finding new Sith knowledge, learning the ancient languages and history in his travels. Varuk would end up roaming the darkness and vast expanses of unexplored space for several years, coming into contact with and narrowly escaping execution by the Chiss race. Feeling as though he had failed on his quest to regain his lost abilities after such a length journey Varuk returned to the Brotherhood without his yellow-bladed lightsaber, taking on a new mantle of responsibility within the organization.

Biography
Knowledge, Abilities & Traits
Knowledge
Zxyl contains a vast myriad of knowledge across several topics and both the Mandalorian and Dathomirian cultures through years of intense training, research, and indoctrination.
Abilities
Although relatively on par with the physicality of a seasoned soldier, Bes'uliik is astonishingly strong and can deploy that might at a moments notice, earning him the title of The Breaker of Bones.
Equipment
The equipment listed here is Zxyl's most used equipment, although he is not strictly limited to this list and often deploys whatever equipment is most suitable for a given situation.
Traditional Mandalorian Equipment
Ancient Mandalorian Beskar'gam

Design
Peridea is an ancient Dathomirian lightsaber forged eons ago by one of the first Night Mothers to make the great journey from the Zabrak's inter-galactic ancestral homeworld of Peridea to the planet Dathomir in the Known Galaxy and is named in honor of that ancestral homeworld. It was constructed by the unknown Night Mother partially as a test of her abilities to mix her traditional Magick with the mainstream lightsaber, and could have been considered technologically advanced at that time.
Unique Characteristics
This weapon is by design a dual-phase lightsaber weapon via a dual-phase emitter matrix, capable of producing a lightsaber blade or firing bolts of lightsaber energy at reduced power compared to the strength of the blade.
History
Prior to Ownership Under Zxyl Bes'uliik
Peridea was constructed on the planet Dathomir thousands of years ago by an Unknown Night Mother after her journey from the lightsaber's namesake to Dathomir and the emergence of stable light-weapon technologies, believing that although their Shadow Magick was unique and strong that they needed to be prepared for any threat against their coven. She forged it using a diamond-shaped kyber crystal corrupted by her Magick as its heart and a unique combination of Phrik and ichor-imbued traditional Nightsister metal to form a Phrik-alloy casing as its outer shell.

Zxyl is quiet, cold, and a bit calculating. He speaks with purpose, does not surgar=coat what he says (although is still respectful). He is an avid follower of the Way of the Mandalore and Mandalorian Creed, and shows both physical and verbal contempt for those that opt to break the tenants of the Mandalorian Creed. This Dathomirian-Mandalorian always believes his way is best - he is who he is, and that's who he is.
When speaking, Zxyl's always helmet-modulated voice is joined by a dark, ethereal echo similar to that of the Dathomirian Mother Talzin. This was the result of the infusion of Dathomirian Magick into his soul following a fatal blow dealt to him by Tahiri Tarentae during the Immortal Sith roleplaying storyline on his birth world of Dathomir, used to bring him back to life.
The Creed & Way of the Mandalore
Bes'ulii is a follower of the Way of the Mandalore Mandalorian religion. While he holds no ill will towards those that follow the Orthodox Mandalorian religion and remove their helmets, he refuses to do so himself under any circumstance. He will die before he removes his helmet. He is a stringent follower of the several tenants of the Mandalorian Creed, and has been known to become openly hostile to so-called Mandalorians who opt to break the Creed or dishonor the Mandalorian people and fail to atone for their actions. As Clan Bes'uliik's Naur'alor he is an incredible wealth of knowledge on the Mandalorian people..
Those writing Bes'uliik should study up on the Mandalorian Creed and Way of the Mandalore, as they are core tenants of his personality and how he conducts himself - especially in the presence of other Mandalorians and how he judges their own actions.
Respect
Zxyl Bes'uliik seeks to earn the respect of others, and offers the same level of respect in return. If someone slights him, he will not immediately react to it, but continued slights will damage their standing with the Mandalorian General and risk pushing their relationship with him to the brink of no-return. Those that lose his respect must work hard to get it back, and Bes'uliik treats them in accordance with the level of respect they have earned. Simply having a title or being someone important matters almost nought to him, his respect is based solely on their actions.
Combat
This Mandalorian General is fluent in several forms of combat, with feats and allocated skill points that bring most of the weapon skills on his character sheet to the Master (+5) level such as Blasters, Lightsaber, Blunt Weapons, and Miscellaneous Weapons.
Zxyl uses his Proficient (+3) Dual Wielding skill to frequently field two different weapons in his arsenal at the same time, whether it be his vambraces or handheld weapons. While not always the case, he uses his arsenal to the greatest effect it can have in a given combat situation. He primarily operates with blaster weaponry (such as his custom WESTAR-35 Blaster Pistol or one of his vambrace weapons) when in long ranged situations, and for close quarters combat relies primarily on one of his light-weapons - though he is known to field a beskar gravity hammer and lightsaber resistant bladed weapons when light-weapons aren't overly necessary. He deploys his dual-phase hidden lightsaber vambrace at the most opportune times and typically strikes with it when his opponent least expects it, and regularly uses the various phases of his triple-phase lightsaber and ancient Dathomirian light-sword to overwhelm and keep opponents on
He keeps a solid hold of his emotions during combat, very rarely losing his cool, and isn't afraid to use Shadow Magick to amplify his natural abilities.
