Incendus is a dark jedi and a member of the Order of the Sith. His name come's from his family's own language, and translated, means "he who burns inside."

Character History
Incendus joined the Empire in 1 ABY, and was submitted to the 501st Legion, also known as Vader's Fist. He was appointed as the commander of Mercenary Squadron, an elite squad of commandos.

Mercenary Squad was different from the other squadrons. They served on many missions, but their primary function was as a Coruscant patrol squad until 3 ABY, when Echo Base was discovered on Hoth. Mercenary Squad was sent to lead the attack alongside Lord Vader. They lead the assault in an AT-AT seperate from Vader's. Eventually, the squadron was deployed to ground assault, and were sent to the base, where they were to retrieve a stolen Imperial droid.

He eventually appeared on the radar again. In 36 ABY, he came to the Shadow Academy, where he was put into Clan Arcona and House Qel-Droma. When he was promoted to Acolyte, he was assigned to a master named Andrelious J. Inahj.
In 27 ABY, Saal graduated from the Shadow Academy at the age of 15. He was selected to apprentice under Kamalis Creed, a Zabrak whose lineage traced back to Darth Kraygus, who was a Sith Lord and Wrath of an ancient Emperor. A cunning tactician and ruthless master, Creed would lay the political foundations of and set the stage for Kesyk’s rise to status and power within the Brotherhood. Under his tutelage, Saal Kesyk was trained to be a marauder and a ferocious force on the battlefield. Excelling in the dominant forms of Djem So and Juyo and possessing a natural aptitude for conjuring Sith Lightning, the young Sith quickly became outfitted as a weapon of warfare.

He started rising through ranks early.

His current status is Guardian.

Shadow Gate Mission 1: The Ancient Sith Artifact on Korriban
Incendus' first mission after SG Training was a dispatch to Korriban to retrieve a stolen Sith artifact. The person who stole it was unknown, but Incendus' master, Andrel, who was not even a member of Shadow Gate anymore, had ironically sensed that the culprit was on their way to Korriban. Incendus had asked Zakath if he could take this mission. This was an emergency, so Incendus was sent immediately after the artifacts were discovered stolen, and was given a temporary extra armory saber for the occasion. On the way there, Incendus put the ship on auto-pilot so he could tamper with his sabers, a hobby he had picked up since learning Banlanth. He replaced the blue crystals with some stronger red crystals, to better prepare himself.

"The sad thing is that I only know Banlath," he said to himself, laughing under his breath. "And I'm still quite inexperienced with that style too. The only reason I really picked this mission was to test my skills to see if I have gotten any better." He finished closing the sabers and set them to his side. "I have got to stop talking to myself."

Upon descent into the atmosphere, Incendus was already feeling uneasy. I shouldn't have done this mission, he thought to himself as he looked at Korriban under a starry, dark sky. Korriban is creepy enough, but it's even worse at night. The wind howls, and it makes me think of the voices of the dead Sith that once inhabited this godforsaken spit of land. Suddenly, the radio in the ship shut off.

Incendus looked out the window, and was awestruck at what he saw. Out in the distance, there was a hooded black figure, slowly dissipating in the wind. After it had completely disappeared, the ship's entire system shut down. Incendus grabbed his supplies and ejected the seat, landing on his feet while the ship crashed to the ground.

"Well, I hope that Zakath's backup that he promised arrives here soon," he said. He picked up his comlink and dialed Zakath's scramble set. When Zakath picked up, Incendus told him what all had happened.

"Well this isn't good," said Zakath. "Do you have any leads at all?"

"Unfortunately, no. I'm working on it, though," replied Incendus.

"Good. Keep up.... danger....retrieve....your backup.....soon." Zakath's signal started breaking up.

"Zakath, are you there?"

"...zzz.......zzz....zzz." Incendus shut the comlink, and a feeling of great worry overcame him. He turned to the left, and continued walking. He kept going for about two hours.

Suddenly, the wind blew greatly from behind Incendus. When he turned around, there was a cave, long and dark. The wind continued to howl behind him, and Incendus knew something was about to happen that he wouldn't like. Even so, he walked on towards fate. As he traversed the cave, he saw skeletons, humanoid skeletons, with many bones. These skeletons were large and unusual, but the most unusual aspect of these skeletons were that they were red. Suddenly, there was a hissing sound, and Incendus activated his lightsaber. Almost immediately, he was knocked down to the ground. He stood, and turned around. There, in front of him was the same figure that he saw entering the atmosphere of the planet.

"I've been expecting you," said the figure. "You know me, yet you have not met me. I used to rule many planets with my own Galactic Empire, in a quest for galactic conquest. Then I was struck down, by my apprentice and his son. I had hoped that they would have sent a much stronger person for me to take over, but I guess you will have to do.

Incendus was struck with fear. Palpatine? How is this possible? Incendus looked, and courageously said, "You underestimate me. I am still living. You are just a ghost of your formal self, a mere shell." Incendus, pleased with the courage he had displayed, had regained his confidence. "I will not lose. I will recover those artifacts that you have taken."

With this, the ghost of Palpatine let out a large, eerie laugh. "Is that so? I admire your courage, but you are overconfident. Even in death, I am a powerful Sith Lord. Do you not fear me?"

"....No. I don't. I don't fear the dead. Now give me what I came for."

Again, Palpatine let out a string of laughs. He pulled a silver chalice, with jewels lining the top, out of his cloak. "IS this what you're looking for?"

SNAP! The chalice was broken.

Immediately, anger flared up within Incendus. He activated the other saber and lunged at Palpatine. He dodged it. after many quick strikes, Incendus was surprised to see that he was actually doing a small amount of damage. The force-ghost of Palpatine was hit twice in the face and knocked back. But then, Palpatine struck back. He attacked Incendus, knocking him to the ground.

Incendus was going blank. He could hardly see. Palpatine had one. He was coming towards Incendus, sucking out parts of his spirit to make way for Palpatine's spirit. Suddenly, another ghost came out and attacked Palpatine from the side. Then came another. Incendus' vision was blurry, but he could make out two figures that he had read about in the archives of the Brotherhood's temple library-It was Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Incendus struggled to get up, but made it. He saw Palpatine start to dissipate after he had lost.

"I will be back. The Empire will be restored," said Palpatine. "YOU WILL SEE!!!!!"

After this, Incendus started to go unconscious again, exhausted. After struggling for a long time, he eventually let himself go to sleep.

Incendus woke up in a bed on the BAC Shadow, where he was greeted by Zakath. Zakath started bombing him with questions, and eventually asked what happened to the artifact.

".....It was destroyed by Palpatine," replied Incendus.

"...But that's impossible. Palpatine is dead. He's been dead."

"I know. It was his ghost."

After a long period of silence, Incendus apologized.

"There is really no need to be sorry. An acolyte against a Sith Lord-"

"But this was a dead Sith Lord."

"Even so, he was obviously still very powerful. And we got the chalice back. It can be prepared, and it's poweres restored, so this was a mission accomplished. I'll let you rest up here." Zakath then exited the room. Andrel then entered the room, and Incendus could sense the hostility between his master and Zakath for a moment. Both Dark Jedi make a resentful glare at each other while passing. I can't wait to learn why my master and Zakath hate each other, Incendus thought to himself. Whatever it is, I will probably find it amusing.

"Are you okay Incendus?," asked Andrel.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for helping me find that chalice."

"What happened in that cave?" Andrel asked this as though nothing else was important, as though it was a life or death matter. And for some unknown, complicated reason, Incendus thought that it might be a life or death matter. He told Andrel everything, what had happened, what he didn't understand about it, what he enjoyed about it.For a moment, there was silence. The type of silence that annoyed someone who wanted answers, the type of silence that actually pierced your ears more than noise would. Then Andrel spoke once more.

"...Why would two Jedi war heroes come to your aid?" This seemed to be more strange to Andrel than the fact that Incendus had just battled the ghost of a Sith lord. "You are a dark Jedi. I wonder if they know what that chalice is capable of. Wait, do you even know what it's capable of?"

Incendus shook his head.

"If somebody were to drink from this chalice, their power in the force would multiply. The only problem is that the amount that their power would multiply varies. It's unstable, unsafe. That's why it was locked away. Anyway, you need to rest. Bye."

"Bye."

Incendus sat there, thinking of what he had seen. Why were Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker there?. Incendus pondered upon this series of events until he reached Selen.

Operation Rolling Thunder
Incendus awoke in his safehouse to an urgent message coming from his datapad. He immediately rushed to a station where he would land a shuttle that would take him to The Shadow

Incendus landed in the hangar, and made his way to the briefing room. He entered, where he saw the rest of his team. Everyone greeted him as he took a seat. A few minutes passed, and Socorra, followed by Scelestus, entered the room. After they acknowledged and greeted the team, they started their briefing.

Clan Arcona was going to war. The Chiss had a blockade keeping the clan from a major route through the Dajorra System. Incendus and the other members of Shadow Gate were to rig the power cells of a space station to overload from a remote detonator. Scelestus gave the team positions: Zakath and Legorii were at the front, leading everyone through the attack; Incendus and Andraste were to watch the flanks so that the team wasn't surrounded; and Cethgus and Walker brought up the rear. Scelestus was to assist the front and to rig the subsystems to explode.

Incendus landed in the hangar, and made his way to the briefing room. Scelestus gave Everybody had to pick a color. Incendus was 'Agent Red'.

Everybody boarded the gunship that would be carrying the team to the space station. Incendus carried a blaster and an electrostaff, his favorite pair of weapons. Incendus hoped that his expertise of pole-type weapons would come in handy when the battle began. He felt everyone's emotions harden as they left for war.

As the ship landed in the Chiss hangar bay, Zakath and Legorii wasted no time to establish a beachhead in the hanger as the others came out. After Socorra scolded the team for making such a noisy disturbance when the mission was supposed to be quiet, Scelestus had the men make a more stealthy approach along a predetermined route.

The team had little resistance from the enemy, and what little that they had was quickly dispatched by Legorii and Zakath, although Incendus did take out a few. There were, nevertheless, some close calls. Andraste was wounded and Incendus had to hold off the Chiss that had ambushed them until Scelestus could get to them with his lightsaber. Incendus treated Andraste by injecting her with a medpac and then they were off again. Along the way, Cethgus barely escaped getting hit by an unnoticed security turret. Incendus watched how Zakath and Legorii took out the unavoidable threats, Zakath with brute force, and Legorii with speed and grace. I want to be like that some day, Incendus thought to himself.

Eventually, the team came up to an internal security checkpoint. This is where they got stopped. Scelestus turned around and looked at his team, and asked,  “If anyone has any ideas for getting past this roadblock quietly, now’s the time to speak up.” Cethgus had the idea to cut through the bulkhead, but from the expression on his face, Incendus knew that Cethgus didn't have much determination that this would work. Scelestus denied it, stating the fact that once they saw the lightsabers cutting through, the entire system would get shut down. Incendus glanced towards another young member of Shadow Gate, who seemed to be as perplexed as he was. They both waited patiently as the more experienced members tried to think out ideas of how to get through. Legorii proposed that one of the members acted as a hostage for a Chiss officer so that the officer would bring the hostage into the checkpoint. Scelestus quickly objected, but Incendus was thinking of it in his head. It's my turn to prove myself. Incendus looked at Scelestus, and firmly said, "Scelestus, I'll do it."

As Walker and Cethgus returned with a swayed officer, Incendus and Zakath returned with another Chiss. While Andraste rested, Legorii and Scelestus revised the plan. The officers would bring Incendus into the checkpoint, unarmed and completely helpless, and as soon as the door opened, Legorii would lead the team to charge through and take out the Chiss guards.

And the trap was sprung. As the guards dragged Incendus in, everybody else dropped through, and to their surprise, there was a single Chiss, his finger hovering over the button that would sound the alarm and ruin the entire mission. Incendus looked back at the rest of the team, and whatched their eyes widen. Legorii imediately aimed his blaster at the Chiss' head, and threatened him that if he pressed the button, he would lose his head. Incendus heard a gasp from Socorra through his HUD comlink, he heard the Chiss yell something in Cheunh, and then he saw Legorii shoot the Chiss. The dead Chiss fell to the floor, and the entire team exhaled in relief.

Afterwards, the team took out the five remaining Chiss, and Scelestus split the team up to finish the mission. Andraste was to whatch the security monitors, Cethgus was to hack the computers and download every file that he could, Scelestus was sent to rig the cells, leaving Legorii, Zakath, and Incendus to guard and intercept anything that tried to stop them. After a few minutes dragged on, Scelestus, Andraste, and Cethgus appeared to the three, still in a defensive stance. They then relaxed, while Scelestus let them know that the job was done, then Cethgus announced that his work was done as well. They then made their way to the hangar, with Socorra's guidance.

The gunship was already there by the time that they arrived, a feeling of relief sweeping the team as they boarded it. Scelestus announced that the first round of drinks were on him, and Incendus heard an eruption of cheer around him. He eventually decided to join in, missing the feeling of importance but nevertheless glad for the success of his first major mission within Arcona.

The Dark Crusade
A New Leader
In 30 ABY, the Sith was given his first taste of warfare. Recovering from the Horizons Plague and Zoraan’s attempts at revenge, the Brotherhood now found itself in conflict with the One Sith. After Muz Ashen issued the order for the Brotherhood to conquer their new enemy, Kesyk was dispatched to aid the Arconan war efforts on Barghebba. After some time spent on the battlefield, Saal was tasked with a new mission. The Sith would operate within a covert Arconan strike team comprised of other Dark Jedi, their mission being to perform a raid on a Mecrosa outpost.

During Operation Rolling Thunder, Invictus stepped down from Quaestor of Qel-Droma, and Socorra stepped up to fill the position. After Shadow Gate's victory, they went to the bar in Port Ol'val, where Scelestus bought the team drinks, as promised. While they were drinking, Scelestus announced that he would be stepping down as leader and that he was moving up to Aedile of Qel-Droma. Andrelious would be taking over Shadow Gate. Incendus was going to miss Scel's leadership, but was overjoyed at the fact that his master would be taking over the team.
The strike team, composed of seven Dark Jedi, took heavy casualties, to the point that by the time the Arconans had infiltrated the stronghold, cleared it of enemies and deactivated the anti-aircraft artillery around the base to make way for Arconan freighters, there were only three remaining: Kesyk, a fellow Sith knight and an acolyte. Upon completion of the mission, Kesyk plunged a Mecrosan dagger from a nearby corpse into the acolyte’s heart. Being the strongest warriors of the group, Kesyk and the knight had plotted to provide minimal aid and coverage to their allies, allowing their comrades die and even killing some in the midst of the chaos so that they could thin out some of the weaker Sith competition within their ranks. Kesyk and his master also believed that a scroll containing the teachings of Darth Kraygus, and hinting at the location of his scattered strongholds, was stored within the confines of the warehouse, which had supposedly been one of the Sith Lord’s safe houses in his time. After locating and recovering it through the Force, Kesyk and the knight made a pact of silence, agreeing to contend that their allies had fallen to the Mecrosa’s defensive tactics and that only they had survived. This raised the eyebrows of some Arconan military officers, as the strike team was considered sufficient in size and was expected to make easy work of this operation, but Kamalis Creed’s influence within this Arconan military ranks allowed him to keep the results of the operation under the radar. Together, he and his apprentice planned to work in the shadows to locate the vast resources that Darth Kraygus was said to have left behind, and use it to build their own Sith Empire under his teachings, unbeknownst to the other members of the Brotherhood.

Fighting Styles
A few weeks after the raid on Barghebba, the Sith Knight who had plotted with Kesyk was found dead under suspicious circumstances involving a spice overdose.

Incendus has mastered the following:
Building a Network
*Broken Gate
Through years of hard training and participation in various Arconan military operations, Saal rose through the ranks and eventually surpassed the rank of Knight. In the shadows, he and his master worked to build the foundations for an extensive network of spies, allied politicians, and a plethora of unsavory black market connections. This network reached across the galaxy, and would serve as both an important intelligence-gathering effort for the Sith duo and as a channel of power which they would use to excel in their goals. Eventually, this would lead to the creation of the pirate organization known as Black Flag.

*Carinor
Ascension
Incendus is learning the following styles:
By the time of 42 ABY, Kesyk had become disillusioned with his place in Clan Arcona. Annoyed at the Clan’s tilt towards a more “gray” approach to the Force, coupled with his disdain of the unit’s decisions to not only welcome Jedi to join Arconan ranks, but to take on leadership roles, Saal disappeared from Selen and surrounding airspace. Eventually, Arconan intelligence revealed that the missing Sith had resurfaced on the planet Aliso.

*Wampa Do
Seeing the newly reformed and momentum-gaining Ascendant Clan as a better means through which to expand his power base, the Sith Warrior had chosen to abandon the Shadow Clan that he had known for so long, sympathizing with Clan Plagueis’ expansionist policies and their aggressive interpretation of the Final Way Doctrine that was first conceived by Kane Vader. Though the Plagueis’ summit was hesitant to accept him, due to their foreknowledge of his actions within Clan Arcona and his willingness to turn his back on the unit, they ultimately recognized his capabilities as a potential asset and chose to bring him into the Plagueian ranks. Over time, he began to forge connections with other members, like the then-proconsul Nora Olen and the Quaestor of House Ventress, Tahiri. Eventually, he would be dispatched on a mission to Nar Shadaa, along with TuQ'uan Varick, with the aim of discovering the location of the then-missing Consul of Plagueis.

The Missing Consul
Incendus has also mastered the secret fighting/blade style of his Family, KraytJinn-Ryu, which was taught to him by his father.
In 42 ABY, the consul of Clan Plagueis, Selika Roh, disappeared from Plagueian airspace, leaving behind no trail or hint of her whereabouts. When it was clear that she had gone missing, Plagueian leadership wasted no time, immediately making the recovery of their consul a priority search. Saal and his assassin droid Dex accompanied his proconsul, TuQ’uan Varick, to Nar Shadaa, investigating a lead from one of Varick’s underworld contacts.

*Due to his focus on his own clan, Incendus has had little to no contact with the other clans.
With his master out of the picture, Saal would now hijack Creed’s plans to usurp the Sith and usher in a new Sith Empire, completely hidden from the prying eyes of those within the ranks of the Brotherhood. Recognizing his need for manpower, the Sith laid the foundations for Black Flag, a loose coalition of pirate groups, smugglers, and other criminal elements. In an effort to keep himself from being publicly tied to the organization, he worked behind the scenes to install the ruthless raider, Thaddon, as the group’s leader, fashioned as the “Pirate King.” While Saal does not directly lead the organization, he was responsible for putting it together, and as such, he would continue to partner with Thaddon, calling on him for aid in accomplishing his power plays and furthering his political goals through the use of underground elements.
*Because of real life incidents, Incendus was unable to participate in the Operation Rolling Thunder Run-On, so he took the stories from what the other members of Shadow Gate posted and put them together to create his story for the event.

Ruthless in his pursuit of power, he is a cunning and skilled warrior and diplomat, hoping to use his skills and prowess to gain further power for himself and realize the end goal of his ____ doctrine.

Joining the Brotherhood

Eventually, this would lead to the creation of the pirate organization known as Black Flag.

Ascension

By the time of 42 ABY, Kesyk had become disillusioned with his place in Clan Arcona. Annoyed at the Clan’s tilt towards a more “gray” approach to the Force, coupled with his disdain of the unit’s decisions to not only welcome Jedi to join Arconan ranks, but to take on leadership roles, Saal disappeared from Selen and surrounding airspace. Eventually, Arconan intelligence revealed that the missing Sith had resurfaced on the planet Aliso.

In 42 ABY, the consul of Clan Plagueis, Selika Roh, disappeared from Plagueian airspace, leaving behind no trail or hint of her whereabouts. When it was clear that she had gone missing, Plagueian leadership wasted no time, immediately making the recovery of their consul a priority search. Saal and his assassin droid Dex accompanied his proconsul, TuQ’uan Varick, to Nar Shadaa, investigating a lead from one of Varick’s underworld contacts.

The Rise of Black Flag

Black Flag is a loose confederation of pirates with ties to Kesyk.
