Character History

Early Life

Joforth was born on Vassek in 5 ABY to parents, Jofrel and Yira Reed. His parents were stationed on the planet as soldiers for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Joforth's parents stayed on Vassek after the Clone Wars were over as they had become enamored with the planet and its inhabitants.

Joforth's upbringing was unconventional. His parents taught him everything they knew from their time in the CIS: tactics, discipline, loyalty, decisiveness, more. He was taught how to use, clean, and load a blaster pistol before he could multiply or divide. By the time he was ten years old he had memorized several Army Field Manuals. At twelve he could breakdown and reassemble any of dozens of weapons. The skills he learned came at a price though, other children his age could not relate to him and he found their type of play increasingly dull as he became older. However when it came to athletic contests Joforth excelled against his peers. His reflexes were second to none and so quick on his feet that even his parents couldn't keep up with him for long.

Around Joforth's fourteenth birthday he began seeing the world in a different light. He looked at his classmates and instead of friends he saw mere children. He looked at his teachers and saw fools. He knew better than anyone what was best for him. He began to skip his classes and started hanging around with some youths he had met at the blaster range his parents normally took him to. Joforth's new friends were more his style: adventurous, industrious, and dangerous. Every time they met a new caper was soon to follow. Joforth's parents didn't seem to mind this change at all, and his father even defended Joforth's new associates when they eventually stirred up too much trouble in the local area. Joforth had finally found a place he fit in, and people that understood him.

Teenage to Early Adulthood

It was not long before Joforth stopped going to his classes completely. He would spend most the day with his new friends, but his afternoons he spent training. He would read historical strategy, run for miles, but his most loved activity was marksmanship. Joforth would spend hours at the blaster range constantly trying new weapon types, testing their accuracy, spread and power. When asked by his comrades what made him work so hard he didn't have a concrete answer, he just enjoyed it.

Life flowed like this for several years until Joforth and his band landed in more trouble than they could escape. They had finally incurred the wrath of the police. The group had begun to steal from several businesses in the area and sold their nefariously sourced goods on local Holonet pages. The Vassek Police Force rounded up eight members of the crew including Joforth. Jofrel and Yira were both furious, but for different reasons. Joforth spent the next few days in a cell between interrogations. He was released however as no goods were found on his person, the evidence against him was circumstantial and he did not incriminate himself during the conversations he had. Joforth's little gang however did not get by as lucky. Six of the seven left were sentenced throughout the next month; all of them with multi-year verdicts. Only one other, Vir Miyt, came out the other side clean.

Vir came to see Joforth soon after the verdicts came in, but Vir could see something inside of Joforth had changed. Joforth had no words of encouragement for Vir, in fact the only words that seemed to be on his lips were insults for his chained associates. He could not believe they were so careless, so easy to be tricked and manipulated. Joforth sent Vir away then too. It was then Joforth realized that there was only one person he could count on not to be a fool, himself.

Joforth continued his training as before, but stayed away from his usual haunts. Although this did not last long as with no products being liberated no credits were in his pockets. He had a few connections still out there and eventually he began working for a group known as The Kaleeshian Hand.

The Kaleeshian Hand was an organization known for both its completely legal security contracts and it's far less than legal , but never found nor convicted, wet-works team. Joforth was hired on as an associate member of their legal protection team. He was the youngest member of the team at eighteen and as such wasn't given much of a chance to show off his skills, nor really given the time of day. That was until a job protecting a local businessman went way south. Joforth was placed on survaliance duty whilst two senior members of the team were with the contract. Joforth could see from the sliced holocamm feeds on his holocomm that the area was secure. He had inspected the areas the client would be going through dutifully a bit earlier as well. No amount of surveillance can stop someone with a personal cloaking device however. A figure abruptly appeared on Joforth's holocamm feed and Joforth wasted no time, he sprinted toward contract and drew his weapon as ran. The decloaked figure had already started to fire as the two bodyguards rushed to protect the client. One of the guards was hit squarely in the chest, taking a blast meant for the businessman and the other suffered two shots in his right leg. As the second guard was falling his way to the floor, Joforth had just ran into range of the target and in one smooth motion straightened, aimed and fired a bolt directed between the would be assassin's eyes. After that day Joforth was never written off again.
