Laigerick Ryokou-Amor is a 24 year old Jedi Hunter and currently a member of House Marka Ragnos of Clan Naga Sadow. The Journeyman hails from an aristocratic Corellian family. Laigerick has a sick, sadistic personallity. He enjoys watching people die horrible, prolonged deaths, and it is this very essence of his being that makes him the talented and sometimes over courageous warrior that he is. His headstrong and twisted personality have helped him survive many battles, and has many battlescars covering his body as a result of this. It is rumored that Laigerick suffers from a mental illness, as sometimes he is struck with a craving for violence, quenched only by death. He never kills anyone quickly, preferring to torture them and watch them suffer. Known to speak in riddles while torturing victims, his sadism and bloodthirst is widely known. He is presently apprenticed under Sith Warrior Dismal Ryokou-Amor.

Character History

Childhood

5 ABY - 13 ABY

Laigerick Sithelhood (Sithelhood being his birth name) was born to a noble Corellian family. His father, Durza Sithelhood, was steward to the Duke of Corellia. The Duke provided his advisor's family with great wealth, in exchange for Durza's life-long services. The Steward's home was located right outside of the Capital City, Coronet, about 3 miles away. Here, he was the Noble Lord of a small farming community, called Valincia, which was built around his home. When Laigerick was a small child, his father and mother, Narissa, often doted over him, spending all they could to keep him happy, but as he grew older, he demanded more. One of the main treats his father got him, was combat training. He was trained in the ways of the blaster and sword by the best trainers on Corellia. By the age of seven, Laigerick was already a mildly skilled combatant. Laigerick also had a side-hobby that he spent most of his free time on, and that was strategy. He was nearly obsessed with commanding forces, and he always defeated his friends in the game of "Holo-Strat."

Several days before his eighth birthday, awkward things started happening to the young Laigerick. He started having small premonitions of the future, giving him a great advantage in strategy. His father, seeing his talent, dreamed of the day when his son would lead the forces of Corellia, but these were soon crushed. The young Corellian told his parents about his power, and they reluctantly concluded that they should send a notice to the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV. Laigerick's parents hoped that their son wouldn't be taken away from them, but inside themselves, they knew what would happen. On the day of his eighth birthday, a robed man approached the Sithelhood home. Durza, fearing the safety of his family, went outside to investigate. When Durza exited the house, the man sauntered up, and started talking to him. Laigerick watched carefully from his bedroom window. Finally, after half and hour of conversing, Durza led the robed man into his home. When Laigerick heard the door close behind them, he ran downstairs to see what was going on. His father was at the bottom of the staircase waiting for him, wearing a grim expression. Durza led his son over to the living room, and set him down in a chair across from the robed man, who was sitting on the couch. The robed man explained to Laigerick that he was a Jedi, and he was sent here to tell the young boy that he was a 'Force Sensitive,' meaning he could sense and harness the power of the Force. He told the youngster that he was to come with him, to Yavin IV, to train to become a Jedi, like him. The young Corellian was in shock, as was his family, but nonetheless, at the next dawn, he bed farewell to his parents, and left with the man for Yavin IV.

Over the next 10 years, Laigerick trained extensively in the ways of the light side of the Force. He was tutored by many trainers in the arts of weapons, meditation, alchemy, etc., but he chose combat as his main attribute. His trainers always passed great complements to other jedi about him. They expected him to be the one of the best in his class, but the now eighteen year-old Laigerick desired more than what he had. He knew he could be more powerful, but at the same time, he knew it was wrong, but the urge to gain this power was too great, and it possessed him. One day in training, Laigerick struck down another student in cold-blood, saying "He was too weak and inferior to be a jedi." After killing his first person, Laigerick developed a thirst for hunting and blood that would never leave him. Sensing this danger, the Masters at the academy brought him before the council, where Luke Skywalker himself, examined the overambitious Laigerick. Finally, the council reached a virdict, saying that he was too dangerous to stay a Jedi, so they exiled him.

Life Anew

23 ABY - 25 ABY

With his few credits, Laigerick got passsage to Nar Shadda, and went to the Refugee Sector to find a place to live. Here, the scum of the Galaxy thrived. Mercenaries were always mugging civilians, and gangs often passed through, bringing nothing but trouble. After his first few months on Nar Shadaa, Laigerick had run out of almost all of his credits, so he decided he needed an occupation, and fast. With all of the turmoil and havok on the overcrowded moon, Laigerick knew his best bet was to try being a mercenary. It paid good, and would be easier for him, since he was a combat expert. Laigerick went to Nar Shadaa's faction of the Corellian Intergalactic Mercenary Force for employment, and was soon hired. Caught up in his bounties, Laigerick forgot the ways of the Force. After being hired, Laigerick decided he needed a weapon, so he forged his own Sith Sword, Nex Addo. For the next several months, Laigerick killed, captured, and hunted people all over the galaxy. Once he had enough credits, he went to local traders and bought himself his own personal vessel. It was a light freighter by the name of Merk-6. Finally, after proving his extreme worth to the faction, he was sent on his biggest embarkment yet. He was to find a smuggler by the name of Racc Don and kill him. He was supposed to be located on a far away system, called Kapsina.

Of course, Laigerick took the job, and started the excursion that would change his life forever. When he arrived at Kapsina, the Corellian Mercenary went to the local cantina, because he knew he could ask about Don there. At the cantina, he was approached by a mysterious cloaked figure, while having a drink at the bar. The figure explained to him, that he could reconnect his connection to the Force, and give him the power he had always wanted. This perked the Corellian's interest, and he followed the man to the outside. In the alley behind the cantina, the man used the Force to reestablish Laigerick's connection, but it didn't feel the same as before. It felt foreign, and dark, but powerful. Then the man revealed his true self to Laigerick. He was a Sith! He told the Corellian that his name was Dismal and that he was to come with him, and join the group of Dark Jedi he was affiliated with, called the 'Dark Jedi Brotherhood.' Laigerick once again, had to make another life changing decision. Since it has always been his dream to have unimaginable power, he took up the Sith's offer, and went with the him, to the Antei System, where his life was changed, forever...

Clan Plagueis

Life as a Sith

25-28 ABY

When Laigerick arrived in Antei, he was quickly accepted into House Exar Kun of Clan Plagueis. Here, he started his training as a Dark Jedi and flew through the ranks. When he reached the rank of Jedi Hunter, he started looking for a potential master. Valerian Orzon finally chose the ambitious Hunter, seeing great potential in him. Under his wing, Laigerick excelled greatly. Orzon taught him to better understand the Dark Side, and better utilize it. He also taught him the importance of the Shadow Academy, and continuing his advancement of knowledge no matter how high in the ranks or old he got. Unfortunately though, Laigerick was unable to start on his Trials with Orzon as an emergency came up.

Departing the Dark Brotherhood

28 ABY

One day, during a training session, Laigerick recieved a call from Consul Aabsdu di Plagia Dupar. Aabs informed the young Hunter that his father, Durza, had recently died. A group of mercenaries and gangsters had executed his father after finding out that his son was a Sith. The sorrow was so great, that Laigerick left the Brotherhood to go to the funeral and comfort his mother. With that, he was sent on his ship, the Merk-6, to his family's home on the planet. After several months of healing, he was ready to return to the Brotherhood, but he was urged by his mother to stay, and take his late father's spot as the Duke's Personal Advisor. Laigerick, realizing what all he had missed, and the danger his family was in as long as he was a Dark Jedi, accepted the offer.

Return of Darkness

29 ABY

After only a year of staying on his home planet, Laigerick's mother died unexpectedly in her sleep from an unknown disease. With no more kin, and no reason to remain on Corellia, Laigerick set back out for the Dark Brotherhood. After months of wandering the galaxy, Laigerick was welcomed back to the Brotherhood with open arms by some familiar faces, and some new. Not soon after arriving, Laigerick wished to finish what he had started so long ago, his Trials to become a Dark Jedi Knight. Since his departure, Laigerick's good friend Dismal Ryokou-Amor had become a Sith Warrior, and decided to take the returning Hunter as his apprentice. They both decided that they needed a ship, and Laigerick, wishing to wash away all memories of his family, offered to sell the Merk-6 in exchange for a new ship that the two could call their own. Laigerick quickly pawned the ship and they bought the Archaeopteryx, both spending approximately 8,500 credits. Under the guidance of his new master, Laigerick flew through his Trails at an uncanny speed, showing the Clan his true potential. Things went well for a month or so, but then everything changed.

Travelers of Passion

29 ABY

Clan Naga Sadow

As time crawled on, Laigerick, Dismal, and a few of his close friends (Derev Niroth, Mitsuhide Akechi, and Kalei Basai) came to realize the poor leadership that Clan Plagueis was under. They gave it time, but with the way the Clan Summit acted and treated other members, believed it was best to leave. This simple move, however, cause great political fallout, and strained on the five friends greatly. After a meeting one day, the friends decided to start a family. With Derev, Mitsuhide, and Dismal already blood brothers, and Kalei part of the family by marriage, they decided to bring Laigerick in too. Laigerick, wishing to forget his past as a Sithelhood, openly accepted the offer. They then chose House Marka Ragnos of Clan Naga Sadow to be their residence, and quickly moved to the outskirts of the city of Kar Alabrek.

Gladiator Robe

Upon his return to the Brotherhood, Laigerick requested a new set of robes to be tailored by the Herald. These robes were made for combat, especially in the Antei Combat Center, and were duly dubbed "Gladiator". He is very fond of the fishnet design, which allows for easy and unrestricted movement. When not in battle, Laigerick will usually be garbed in a tattered black outer cloak, which has seen much use.

Durza's Heart

Durza's Heart

Durza's Heart is a topaz amulet, which belonged to his mother. On the day he found her dead, Laigerick took the piece of jewelry, which was Narissa's prized possession, putting it around his own neck. Laigerick never takes off the pendant, and it is the only thing that Laigerick will keep that reminds him of his past.

Weaponry

Lightsaber

Laigerick can always be found with his lightsaber, which is the standard blade given to all Journeymen throughout the Brotherhood. When he returned to the Brotherhood, he was astonished to discover that every Journeyman was issued a lightsaber to protect themselves against the Yuuzhan Vong menace. His blade is blood red, forever displaying his fealty and allegiance to the Sith order.

Shroud Gauntlets

Laigerick always wears a pair of platinum gauntlets on his forearms, elaborate with gold trimming and blue-green gems encrusted into the weapons. Made to ensure that victims suffer, the gauntlets have a large golden spike protruding outwards from the palm, and jetting inches outwards at an opponent. At each fingertip lies a durasteel spike, almost giving the appearance of claws. These gauntlets were made with the purpose of intimidation, but are also efficient at the bloody purpose that they serve.
