Characteristics

The Final Way currently acts in a supporting role for the Warhost Navy. The Firefox was acquired by Naga Sadow before being donned in the clan colours. Generally it maintains the dark grey design of any ship, while running two golden stripes down either side of the ship. To keep the look going its lighting has been fitted to match with the colour scheme making it fit into the Naga Sadow fleet.

The Firefox-class shares a hull configuration with the smaller Gladiator-class, save scaled up by nearly two-thirds. The large bridge tower houses the majority of the ships systems, leaving a large portion of the main hull devoted to supporting starfighter operations. The Firefox is characterized by the large central hangar opening in the bow that bisects the main hull. Unlike other Star Destroyer designs, the hangar is located directly forward to facilitate the deployment of starfighters directly into combat quickly. Also, unlike the hangars on other destroyer designs, the Firefox-class has a system of large blast doors that can fully secure the hangar deck to space.

Unlike most Star Destroyers, the Firefox-class has a large fighter command center located at the forward dorsal position on the command tower. This large command and control deck houses the position normally dedicated to the bridge on other designs. The Firefox bridge on the other hand is located above and slightly aft of the starfighter command center on the command tower.

While not being a ship of massive firepower the Firefox comes into its own in a unique way, managing to hold enough weapons to stave off attacks it also is able to launch two wings of fighters onto opponents, hitting them with a mixture of fighters and bombers making it able to adapt to any situation that arises. At the same time the ship has enough firepower that it can fight from long range and at close range, often being able to hold its own against Imperial Class Star Destroys and fight out of any situation that it comes across.

Role in the Warhost Navy

The Final Way's role in the Warhost is to serve as the fleet's primary starfighter platform. Though there are four other capital ships that can carry enough to be considered fleet carriers, the Final Way carries double what the nearest other ship is capable of. This carrier also serves as the primary starfighter repair and maintenance location of the Warhost's starfighters. In conflict, the Final Way is kept well away from battles. It will typically take up a position one system removed from the conflict zone, or at a centralized point. From here, it's fighters will make short hyperspace jumps to their destinations, whether that be one battle or several. Due to Warhost navy doctrine, every fighter regularly embarked on the Final Way is hyperspace capable. As such, they fullfill a variety of roles, from targeting convoys to supporting other Warhost capital ships in fleet engagements.

In peace time, the Final Way typically resides in an undisclosed location within the Orian System, far from any space lane or world. It will make frequent micro-jumps around the system. New pilots are often shipped to the Final Way for further training.

History

Construction

The Final Way was commissioned to be constructed for Naga Sadow in 26 ABY, the ship began construction at Kaut Drive Yards the ships new form began to take shape, though progress was slowed and sometimes even halted due to unforeseen problems with the original schematics the progress of the ship came surprisingly quick for one of her size. As it came closer to 27 ABY the ships construction was finally complete, which saw her being released into the care of Naga Sadow. Upon her return home the ship was christened with the title of Final Way and took the role of a support vessel inside of the Naga Sadow Warhost Navy.

The Final Way was built in secret by the Iron Throne at Lord Ashen's wishes. When much of the Sadowan fleet was lost at the end of the Horizons conflict, the ship was delivered to Naga Sadow as both a reward for standing with another unit of the Brotherhood, and with a directive: to not lose this new acquisition or suffer the consequences. As such, the Final Way became the basis for a new strategic doctrine among the Sadowan fleet commanders, emphasizing precision strikes and fighter operations and avoiding serious, close engagements. According to this doctrine, the Final Way has always been kept far from battle lines and equipped with hyperspace capable starfighters.

Past service

With her joining the Navy it soon came around with time of an event that would be known as the Tenth Great Jedi War. While serving in a militarised role for the fleet the ship saw action with the main force of Naga Sadow. Lending support with the fighters and bombers it was a key player inside all of the events that took place, upon its return home from this event it was given a patrol mission. Leading patrols inside of the Orian system the ship stayed largely out of the spotlight as to not attract unwanted attention from the size and abilities of such a ship. After time passed Naga Sadow felt that the fights that were attached to the ship needed to be updated and as such commissioned new squadrons to be attached to this carrier to make it more able to function inside of multiple roles.

Recent history

With the new fighters inside of the carrier it was once more called to action, seeing multiple conflicts inside of the Dark Crusade and supporting the entire fleet, this brought the entire crew inside of the ship to a high level of response and training making sure that they performed their duties without fail. After the action of the Crusade it ended in the Eleventh Great Jedi War. Because of this it dropped back to the Orian system during this time this was to make sure that there was a ship protecting the fleet during the Great Jedi War.
