Anubis Taldrya, otherwise known by his Inquisitorius codename Nihlus and formerly as Anubis Annedu, is a Force Disciple currently serving as Regent of the Brotherhood on the Dark Council. Born on the shadow world of Umbara to an Imperial science officer, thirst for technological knowledge consumed most his life until he was inducted into the Brotherhood of Dark Jedi, where he became obsessed with Sith technology and Sith Alchemy rites and processes.

Anubis has been a member of the Brotherhood for over a decade, serving Taldryan throughout the years in every leadership role from Battle Team Leader of Battle Team Hex to Quaestor of his long-time home House Ektrosis. He was named a Son of Taldryan in 36 ABY alongside the Mandalorian Proconsul Zxyl Venzos. In 38 ABY, the alchemist departed Taldryan to focus on his duties as the first-named Praetor to the Regent before being tapped to succeed Thane Skotos on the Dark Council by Evant Taelyan shortly thereafter.

Force Disciple

Anubis is aligned with neither the light side or dark side of the Force. preferring to walk the thin line between the two. Some believe that the Force is a guiding principle or supreme power that controls their destiny, but Anubis is not one of those people; he firmly believes that he alone controls his destiny, and chooses to walk his own path as a result. He seeks to use the Force as a means to an end, bending technology to his will and seeking full control over it through the use of Mechu-Deru. He studies Force-technology integrations. His emotions are kept in check from others, almost never shown externally.

This Umbaran is a bit of an enigma and has several light-aligned tendencies. Anubis will not kill or maim excessively or without reason, seeing no need to needlessly kill or the innocent or expend energy where not required. Although he has chosen to focus on the Brotherhood at large as Regent, the Force Disciple is still partially and inherently protective of his long-time home, Taldryan, having spent many years working to earn the clan title. In the opposite vein, he also has dark-aligned tendencies that shine through. There are no internal qualms about ending the life of someone who stands in his way or may have crossed him. Those that fail him are also doomed to perish should they come before him. Emotions such as passion and hatred are used to fuel Anubis' abilities, and are consistently boiling beneath the surface. He is manipulative, and will use others to further his own goals and wishes.
