| | Callus Fen Kast was born in 41 bby on Corellia. He was one of many sons born into a proud family of Politicians and Aristocrats. Destined for bigger things, Callus turned his focus away from politics and toward the sciences. By the end of the Clone War, the House of Kast was forced to take their fortunes and join the now steamrolling Imperial regime. Soon forced by the very same Imperial pressures, the budding Callus enlisted in the Academies of the Empire. He studied for years and was allowed to freely roam the galaxy in pursuit of technological advances. By the ripe age of 30, Callus was an established and esteemed researcher. While venturing to Reecee on an investigation 10 years before the Battle of Yavin, he encountered a young woman. After taking her hand in marriage in 9 BBY, The Kast Family took root. By the fall of the Empire, Callus had redefined himself as one of the leading Imperial Scientists. Now specializing in the field of repulsor technology and mechanized docking actuators, his already affluent pocketbook continued to expand. |
| | |
| | Aylanna Sokane was a clever Dathomiri/Hapan woman with flowing connections to the Force. Though she was considered a Witch by her native peoples, she always considered herself as part of the higher class of peoples. It was the lust to change her social status and the overwhelming wealth of her suitor, Callus Kast, which drew her to him. In the early years of their marriage, Aylanna became known as an extreme socialite; a Money hungry gold digger of a wife. Visiting galas in the greater parts of the galaxy, she soon acquired an entourage of Force Sensitive women like herself. In the time she was not engaging in the upperclass frivolities, she trained her own personal army Force Enhanced she-devils. |

| Born as Derc Kast in 1 ABY Thran Occasus lead the life of wealth throughout most of his youth. Unlike most settlers of the Outer Rim Worlds, Thran was born into astonishing wealth. His father, Callus Fen Kast, was a renowned Imperial scientist. Originally from Corellia and born in 43 BBY, Kast brought his family to Bakura during the construction of the second Death Star. His vast technical knowledge made Kast a welcomed addition to the Imperial legions, where he was hand picked by the Emperor to complete the battle station. The proximity of Bakura to Endor made it possible for Kast to maintain a low profile within the Imperial ranks while maintaining the rich lifestyle he had created for his family. Aptly rewarded for his work on the battle station, Kast’s expanded his increasingly deep wealth. Enveloped by his work, Callus Kast spent almost no time with his children and wife. Callus was killed during the destruction of the Second Death Star in 4 ABY, widowing his wife Aylanna Sokane and two children, Shir’ciri and Derc. During his life, Callus barely acknowledged the existence of his son, which would eventually lead to emotional trauma in the young boy.
| | While it is unknown where she learned these skills, it was clear to many that they were not Jedi Arts. Rather, She was a priestess of the Dark Side. In time she distanced herself from her husband, comforted only by the embraces of her womanly companions and spending Callus’ money. After several years and many planet relocations, the Family came to settle on Bakura when Callus became involved in developments for Repulsor Docking Mechanisms. In spite of her troubled marriage, Aylanna kept young women about the villas and mansions her husband owned, for her own personal court. |
|
| |
|
| The Matriarch of the Kast family, Aylanna Sokane, was a peculiar woman who is suspected to be born of the Dathomiri Witches. Her age is unknown, due in part to her earthshakingly good looks. Unlike her husband, she was not born into wealth, but quickly adapted to the prospect. She was inhumanly cold and the Dark Side seemed to surround her. Though she was bitter, people seemed to bend around her will. She kept a loyal cohort of anywhere between ten and twenty young and attractive women at her side at all times. Known as the “Handmaidens”, the young women tended to her every need, including raising her firstborn son. Generally regarded as a misandrous person, she disliked men and clearly favored her female companions and daughters to her sons. Her charisma attracted many men from all walks of life, in spite of her apparent hatred of them. Shortly after the death of her husband, suitors were a common sight at the Kast family Estate. After many years of investigation, Thran determined that his mother may have had some connection to the Sith and most certainly sparked his interest in the occult. | | The couple had a child, a Daughter, Shir'Ciri, shortly after moving to Bakura. The House of Kast slowly came to revolve firmly around its matriarch and young heiress, leaving Aylanna in charge of many of its administration features. Large amounts of corporate stock as well as real estate assets made a large part of the enormous wealth of the fledgling family as coffers rapidly expanded. With the continual growth of investments, Callus left his studies behind. |
|
| |
|
| Shir’ciri, known to her family as “Gem”, was the favorite child in the Kast family. As the first born girl, Aylanna took special interest in her. Her every need was catered to and she quickly developed into a mirror of her mother. She remained close to her mother until Thran accumulated a wealth which dwarfed the Family’s coffers, when this happened she quickly turned coat and claimed that she had always supported her baby brother.
| | Now in his early Forties, Callus could focus on the growth of his family. In 1 ABY, Aylanna gave birth to their second child, a boy, Derc. The Family was content, until 4 ABY. In the early part of the year, Callus had received a contract, from none other than the Emperor himself. The Emperor wanted these repulsor pads installed in the Second Deathstar. The Contract was huge, he could not refuse. He immediately packed his bags and left for Endor. Callus toiled until he was killed in the Destruction of the Station at the Battle of Endor. |
|
| |
|
| Of the Handmaidens that Aylanna kept, Aphelia is her favorite. A ravishingly beautiful girl, Aphelia was charged with the nurture and care of the young Kast son. She maintained the general disdain that Aylanna held in regards to the boy and was not afraid of being hard on him. Aylanna considered herself a surrogate mother to the boy, but quickly threw that thought out as he grew more and more handsome with age. By the time he was 16, Aphelia had requested that she be allowed to marry the boy when he was of the proper age. This threat surely contributed to his departure from Bakura.
| | While Aylanna had lost her husband, she had acquired his entire inheritance including the vast contract that was signed. Through careful maneuvering of funds, she ensured a trove of money deeper than those of many Planets. |
|
| |
|
| The second critical handmaiden was Sarisa Onikengo. Born in 12 BBY, Sarisa filled the gaps in the raising of the Kast son. Where all the other women of the house were unnecessarily brutal to him, Sarisa felt pity for the boy and thus was very gentle with him. She would often find the young man crying in fits of anger and sadness. Onikengo felt it was her responsibility to implant at least some good within the child, giving him some sense of conscience.

| Left in the care of his equally wealthy and bitterly cold mother, Derc (Thran) developed a great deal of insecurities early in his life. Cruelly detached from her first son, she left the continued impression that he was a pox about the House of Kast. Thran was raised by the servants and maidens of the Kast estate. His guardians, Aphelia and Sarisa tended to his every need. Surrounded by women for the majority of his life, Thran developed an extreme dependence on females, which would manifest itself later in life by his continued sexual engagements with many different women. As a child, the boy was habitually ill. His skinny anemic frame and fragile hemophilic body made it difficult for the boy to do normal activities childhood activities. Instead of playing outdoors with other children, Thran read great deals of literature and enjoyed tending to the gardens around the estate.

| At age 8, the Kast Family took their young son on a trip to the country. While staying at a mountain lake resort, the young boy disappeared. Reports of similar events had been swirling in the air of the Bakuran Capital and many suspected a serial murderer to be in the area of the resort. In her typical fashion, Aylanna left the boy to find his own way out of the situation, thus making him stronger. Held in a dungeon for weeks without food and water, the young boy eventually wormed free of his chains. In the darkness of night, he escaped. However, Thran did not flee without exacting his revenge.
| | The dwindling Kast Family remained comfortable in the shadows of the Empire in pre invasion Bakura. Without warning Aylanna fled the planet, to go on a tour around the Galaxy. They had left, with her keen intuition. They had avoided the Ssi-ruuk Invasion entirely. She brought along her Daughter, her Son, and her handmaidens. While visiting the inner rim, her young son was scouted by opportunistic talent agents. While she declined their offers, she did see what they were claiming and began putting the boy through rigorous training. |
| | |
| | He became learned, the through hours of tedious instruction administered by the Handmaidens. While a youth, he enjoyed being a dangerous. At age 9, while on Vacation at a classy mountain resort, the young boy was abducted from his custodians. Taken to a hidden cabin in the mountains, the perverted captor had plans for what would inevitably become Cannibalism. One evening, the young boy had managed to worm free of his restraints. Sneaking through the night, he wielded a weapon in one hand. He perched waiting to strike the would be killer, when he noticed a small snake. |
| | |
| | He recalled his studies. Aposematism. Bright colored animals were usually venomous. Carefully, the boy wrangled the crimson serpent and placed it in bed with the man. He watched, gleefully as the snake bit the man over and over again. He screamed with pain, and the little boy laughed. When the captor had finally died, the now twisted young boy began to slice the body of the man. |
| | |
| | After his rescue, it was noted for the record that the boy was found playing with the poisonous snake. The little Serpent would become a symbol of the man he would become, insidious and mistakably deadly. |

| | Upon their return to Bakura, well after the Saurian invaders had been pushed away, the budding young talent of Derc was left in the care of his mother's maids and housekeepers. Cruelly detached from her first son, Aylanna left the continued impression that he was a pox about the House of Kast. His guardians, Aphelia and Sarisa tended to his every need. Tending to every comfort a growing boy could enjoy. Animals and dangerously fast vehicles littered the grounds of the estate. Surrounded by women for the majority of his life, Thran developed a special insight on females, which would manifest itself later in life by his continued sexual exploits. |
|
| |
|
| The small child began to strangle his captor, but was interrupted when he woke. The man threw the boy to the ground expecting to be able to manhandle him. However, the young boy had become an unbridled ball of rage. Still, he was no match for the full grown man. As he pinned the boy to the ground and drew a knife to flay him, a small snake which had been lying in wait on the warm floor of the killer’s hide out crept towards the struggling pair. With a clean and decisive strike, the venomous serpent bit the would-be killer in the throat. Minutes later, the man was swollen and near death. Grabbing the knife from the floor, Thran mutilated the body, desecrating it beyond recognition.
| | He would eventually become the playboy son, that could take his Mother and put her in the limelight that she had always wanted for herself. By the age of 14, Thran had already been accepted to the most prestigious academy on Bakura. For as intelligent as the young boy was, he got himself in to much more trouble than he could weasel his way out of. |
|
| |
|
| When the authorities arrived, they found the bodies of several children as well as enough evidence to close the case. The young Thran was found shaking and hunched over in a corner, shirtless, with the small serpent resting gently over his shoulders. Confused by ferociousness of the situation and not wanting to believe that the young boy was responsible for the state of the body, authorities determined that the killer had died by natural causes. The boy was returned to his home and did not leave the serpent’s side until the day it died.
| | As a young he excelled particularly in the art of the duel. Unlike the blaster filled area of the underworld, his duels were the civilized sport of the upper class. Handy with a blade, the young man drifted on to less elegant arts. He passed time in the seat of anything that flew, his reaction time and predictive ability quickly made him one of the most hated racers on Bakura. Suddenly, Bakura had become too small for him. |

At age 15, a young woman by the name of Jenny’ri Sanniran had been paired with him by the traditional Rule of the Feather and Bowl. She, auspiciously was a maiden in his mother's court. The pair was inseparable during this time and the young man clearly drew her attentions away from her studies. They believed in harmony and peace, he believed in order and power. He had bigger and better things to go on to and how he would. |

| As he aged, he grew increasingly detached from those around him as he sought only to impress his mother. However, the Kast son also began to show his innate natural beauty. Pleasing to the eye, Thran appeared much as he does today by age 14. Due in part the lure he had with local girls, Thran was restricted to the grounds of the Kast Estate and was not permitted to leave. Cruel tests of will and trials of wisdom were a staple of his life, meant to test his connection to the Force. Little to his knowledge, Thran was being bred for the Dark Side. The relationship troubles, lack of nurture, and other traumatic experiences left Thran a mute by choice until he was nearly 15 years old. The pair was inseparable during this time and the young man clearly fell in love with the young gal.
| | Jenny'ri had spent the majority of her younger life working as a staffer around his Estate, and was accustomed to living with the Kast Heir. She often summered with him in the mountains, in their cozy lake House, and it was no surprise when she offered to accompany him off world. His first stop was to the Business Sector, an audacious move by a man his age. |
|
| |
|
| Jenny’ri showed no interest in her partner, Thran began to change himself so that she might express interest. One evening, the young man over heard a group of maidens gossiping about some pop star named Thran. From that moment on, the name Derc Kast was dead to him. After a detailed search, the son of Callus Kast renamed himself Thran Occasus. The name had personal meaning for him and also helped to separate himself from his family. Shortly after he renamed himself, Thran began to speak again. It was at this moment when his life changed. Girls threw themselves at him and he was never without an escort. At some point during this period of time, Thran impregnated a local girl, who would later give birth to a daughter.

| | He had nearly claimed the Proconsul Spot from Phoenix, and was elected to work with Impetus in House Caliburnus. Thran, in a vain attempt to steal the coveted Caliburnus Lightsaber, dragged Rasilvenaira into the forests of Ptolomea. He got to the lightsaber first, but what happened was not what he expected. The Force revealed itself to him. The saber showed him visions of the Past, Present, and Future. He was now Quaestor of House Caliburnus. His girl, was his Aedile. He spent hundreds of thousands of Credits gathering the rarest creatures in the Galaxy for the Clan to have. Among his own acquisitions, Thran acquired two Tuk'ata, who keenly guard the Caliburnus Vault. He named them, Freedon and Exar, in homage to two great Lords. And for a pet, a mischievous lizard named Demas. Having flown many missions, he was awarded Top Ace, best of the best. Life was good. It wasn't enough. |

- "Too wise for a Sith, Too smart for an Obelisk, Too arrogant for a Krath."
- ―Chi-Long, speaking of Thran Occasus
- " Some things just don't change...Thran is one of 'em"
- ― Anonymous
Thran Occasus is a member of Clan Scholae Palatinae and a firey member of the Sith Order. Currently holding the position of Consul in Clan Scholae Palatinae, his passion for leadership is surpassed only by his passion for drinking and women. Vain by nature, he is “plagued” by good looks. Above his natural beauty, his connection to the Force is extraordinarily strong. His charm and his guile have lead him to be one of the most hated and feared Leaders of his Clan.
Best described as Magnetic, Thran Occasus brings wealth and pride everywhere he goes. A purist of the Sith Code, Thran Occasus is as learned as he is handsome. Wise far beyond his appearance, Thran loves nothing more than Passion, Power, and Cognac.
Character History
The House that Kast Built | Before the Brotherhood
- " If Callus had only known his son…They could have conquered the Galaxy…"
- ― Aylanna Sokane, speaking of the Demise of the House of Kast
The Happiest Days of Our Lives
While Aylanna had lost her husband, she had acquired his entire inheritance including the vast contract that was signed. Through careful maneuvering of funds, she ensured a trove of money deeper than those of many Planets.

* Aylanna's Children
Careful With That Axe, Eugene
- " The boy is too mild mannered, too fragile, too shaken up to be guilty of this heinous act. Even if he had done it, who cares? "
- ― Official Police Statement
The Trial
- "What doesn’t kill him will only make him stronger…"
- ― Aphelia speaking about the testing of Thran
Young Lust
As he aged, he grew increasingly detached from those around him, entranced by his own greatness. The awkward Kast boy had grown up to become a handsome young man. Thran was selected as the Feather, a great honor within the community, but declined the priesthood much to the chagrin of his caretakers. They believed in harmony and peace, he believed in order and power. He had bigger and better things to go on to and how he would.
Money
- " Three Hundred Trillion credits and you can’t buy me a drink?"
- ― Anonymous woman
At age 17, now named Thran Occasus, the young man set out on adventures and pursuit of wealth. Somewhere between Bakura and the other side of the Galaxy, Derc Kast had disappeared. Jenny'ri had become Sindra Corr, and the two were swindlers. After 3 years of various criminal activity, Thran Occasus sought to go corporate. Smuggling, with fronts in Shipping and Transport and drugs with Pharmaceutical Shells. The plan happened within 2 years, and at 19 years old Criminal Mogul Thran Occasus has set up an entire network of legitimate and illegal business opportunities. He was rich, but it wasn't enough. He and his young companion and partner in crime, lost touch. She went wanted to stop along the way, settle in; He was on the up still.
Under the veil of his own corporation, he began to explore the finer pursuits in life; Fame.
With Contacts his mother held in the fashion world, Thran Occasus began albeit brief campaign in Modeling. His handsome young physique made him an overnight face for high fashion undergarments and cologne. Among laughter and rumors, he found himself realizing that he could not get what he wanted from strutting around in his underwear for a living. He reverted back to business, and erased his memory of the terrible year he'd spent as a male model.
Comfortably Numb
- " 150 kilos of the finest spice in all the land…Looks like someone is partying tonight…"
- ― Drug dealer on delivering a parcel to Thran
For four years, Thran lived an unbridled life as a playboy and socialite, earning him many friends and enemies along the way. He was business buy day, and party at night. The rumors said it was the spice that kept him from just falling over and dying from overexertion. He was known for womanizing, and flaunting his wealth. Some claimed him to be reckless, but in all honesty Thran had nothing better to do. By this stage in his life, Thran had no emotional connections with anyone. Home was far away, He never stayed in one place long enough to call it home, Women would stay with him but be gone in the morning; and he loved it. At the age of 23, while reading legends about the evil Sith Empire it dawned on him. His Corporate sat fat in its books, he'd designed and produced 6 moderately well Recieved Starships though no one needed his warships at the time, the banking industry was running well, he would learn the ways of the Force.
He knew of the Force. It was not much different than the religion he'd been fed on Bakura, it was everything.
Dreams of a Dark Lord | The Dark Jedi Brotherhood
- " You have…potential…"
- ― Braecen Kaeth
Echoes
The Dark Side called him, and he was brought to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood under Clan Exar Kun, where he immediately established himself as one of the most promising students the Clan had ever seen. In the frigid halls of Castle Frost, Thran Occasus took the first steps into what would truly be his destiny. Taking note of this, Grandmaster Chi-Long expressed interest in taking the young Thran under his tutelage. The Dark Lord could feel the presence within him, something that could only be tapped into when chosen to. The Force was strong with him and planets would fall in line. Shortly into his training, after the Clan Exar Kun merged with Clan Satal Keto to form Clan Plagueis Chi-Long vanished. Thran's instruction was passed along to a strong Sith by the name of Lusankya, who helped Thran reach the rank of Jedi Hunter. Thran felt slowed, like he was being held back our of Master's fears of him. After a brief recess from Training, Thran was passed over to Godo Nurok for the final stage of his instruction. The lightsaber was a part of Thran, he had quickly mastered the Duelist's Form.
After reaching Dark Jedi Knight, Thran Occasus joined forces with long-time friend Braecen Kaeth to lead House Exar Kun. Their work was greatly successful and lead to the benefit of the entire clan. However, Turmoil between the Proconsul Salth Khan and then Consul Sarin once again blocked the Sith's campaign for more. Without the strong allegiance to his Aedile, Braecen fled the Clan. Occasus was detained during the Rites of Supremacy, forcing him to remain in the volatile Clan. He was dangerous, but they could still keep him in check.
In the Flesh
Upon his departure, Thran sought to follow his old friend, who had already worked his way up to Quaestor in Clan Scholae Palatinae. The old allegiance would be beneficial for both parties, but more so for Thran. After several stints as Battle Team Leader, Braecen, who had recently been appointed Consul, enlisted Thran’s help to unify the leadership of the Clan. Braecen had two women on his team, all he had to do was let Thran off the leash. The two prominent leaders, Impetus and Rasilvenaira, would fall victim to the good looks and charisma of the Sith Warrior. In the early days, Thran joined House Caliburnus, where he became physically involved with Impetus. The pair shared a similar “hit it and quit it” mentality, making the relationship beneficial on both ends. After growing bored of the ease of getting Impetus into bed, Thran focused his attention on a difficult catch; Rasilvenaira Kaeth StormRaven. Through his gratuitous use of his body, the Clan stabilized and began to press forward, thanks to the diligent “efforts” of the Sith. The Underwear model had saved the clan.
Prejudices were held against Thran for his actions. He seemed aloof, uncaring for the rigid structure the clan had supported before he arrived. He didn't care, he was going to Conquer and steal his way to the top.
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
Thran bounced between relationships until he was conscripted to House Acclivis Draco. Braecen requested that his friend invest “special interest” in Rasilvenaira Kaeth StormRaven who held the position of Aedile. Something about the older woman stuck out to him, so he began to pursue her romantically. Although she expressed no interest in the beginning, Thran’s tenacity eventually roped her in. Thran advised her as troubles with the HAD summit shook the house. Though she was in no place to do so, she seemed to trust him. After the longest relationship of Thran’s life, they continued to see each other throughout Thran’s usurping of the command of House Caliburnus. He had been appointed Aedile, but only for a moment.
