| The Ascendancy is a Nebula Star Destroyer under the jurisdiction of House Plagueis and its fleet, the Jusadih Naval Command, and now acts as the Flagship for the fleet. She was awarded to Clan Plagueis following the Ninth Great Jedi War: Unification, and has given Plagueis the edge on the Naval front. | | The Nebula-class Star Destroyer Ascendancy is the flagship of the Ascendant Fleet of House Plagueis. Originally found as a ruined hull by Plagueis following the Vong Incursion, the ship was refitted at Antei and granted to the House. |
| | |
| | It has served the Ascendant House through many conflicts and was almost destroyed during the destruction of the Jusadih System, only to carry Plagueis to safety at the old Vaiken Spacedock. After their capture of the 108th Expeditionary Scout Fleet, the vessel returned to Antei to recieve proper repairs - as well as extensive upgrades, purchased with the spoils of plunder and the Dark Lord's favor. |
| | |
| | ==History== |
| | |
| | Commissioned one year prior to the Vong invasion, the Nebula-class Star Destroyer Delusion originally served in a defensive capacity. After minimal service, the ship was pushed onto the front lines of the Outer Rim, where it found itself brutally outmatched by the extragalactic invaders. Essentially gutted, the Destroyer was abandoned by the Vong invaders and left to drift. |

| == Construction ==
| | It was during a commercial flight to the planet Bespin that a trading vessel from Jusadih came across the hull. The government overseer on board - a Plagueian in disguise - reported the vessel's location to Consul Jinn before executing everyone on board. Jinn sent out repair crews sufficient to get the vessel back to Jusadih, where repairs were completed and a few quick adjustments listed the vessel as an official part of the system's navy. Presenting the vessel to the Dark Council on the heels of his recent Insurrection and the Retaking of Antei, he received the blessing of the Iron Throne. The ship became known as the Ascendancy, and became the flagship of the Plagueian fleet. |
| The “Ascendancy” was constructed under the guidance of the Republic Engineering Corporation with the original name of “The Delusion”, at their facility above Coruscant in the year 24 ABY. It was one of last known Nebula Star Destroyers to be constructed, with its intent being to join the Republic fleet in the early years of struggle against the Yuuzhan Vong. | |

It was during this conflict, and the ensuing fight against Zoraan’s remaining weaponry and the attack of the Starweird unleashed by Zoraan’s followers, that the ‘’Ascendancy’’ would serve as Plagueis’ last hope of escape from the destruction of Jusadih. |

| | A few weeks of raiding, repairs, and the capture of the new Ascendant Fleet became the prelude to the return of Plagueis from the brink. Upon arrival at Antei, where Reith pledged the fealty of Plagueis to the Iron Throne and no other, the ship was fully repaired and extensively upgraded. It once again became the flagship of the Ascendant House. |
| A year before the Yuuzhan Vong had made their crushing assault on the galaxy, the NSD “Delusion” was commissioned into the Republic fleet for defense purposes. In its first years of service it took part in several defenses of the inner core worlds and did not see much action. By 27 ABY, its Commanding Officer accepted a mission to the outer rim in hope to join the fight hands on, in order to hold back the terrifying Yuuzhan Vong. The Nebula Star Destroyer jumped into a slaughter, and was quickly outmatched by the Vong’s superior power. With no hyper drive, no communications or weapon systems, the "Delusion" was a shadow of it's former glory. | |
| |
| During their few spare moments of life, a formation of ships jumped out of hyperspace into the region. Each bared unrecognisable codes, yet showing serious intent, as they powered up their forward weaponry. Although the Nebula Star Destroyer was crippled and badly damaged, it was still repairable. The Commander had come in contact with the Tarnis Enterprises, a pirate led organization which gave the ship and her crew two choices. Death or submit themselves to their cause.
| | The peacekeeping vessel was now an engine of conquest for the adherents of the Final Way. |
| |
| With no other choice, the NSD Delusion was captured and took deep into the outer-rim for repairs. It's known history from there was unavailable, all what was found was its change of name. “The Delusion” was no more and was renamed in the image of Tarnis. Nebula Star Destroyer “The Conspiracy”.

| |
| The next time the vessel was seen was in the Jusadih System, after the Tarnis Enterprise tried to shred some light to Clan Plagueis in a campaign called “Mirror Mirror”. Although for its superior defensive battle systems, the ship’s Captain was out smarted by Admiral Cethgus Kuga, who led the defense against the “Conspiracy”. The Plagueis fleet quickly out fought the Nebula Star Destroyer, and succeed getting a boarding party within its hangar. Dark Jedi quickly fought their way through to the bridge and seized it into their own hands. The “Conspiracy” now belonged with Plagueis. | | The Nebula-class marks a significant advancement in design for Star Destroyers. Despite only being about sixty-five percent of the size of an Imperial-class, it was designed to handle an Imperial-II. The vessel is a match for another Star Destroyer, two heavy cruisers, or an entire line of smaller ships as a stock model. |
| |
| In the epilogue to the battle, Consul Alaris Jinn over-watched the repairs for the ship., Then after long consideration by the Summit, the Nebula Star Destroyer was given a new name which would represent its new owners in a great manner. The NSD “Ascendancy” was born.
| | The ship's armament is considerable, consisting of forty turbolaser and dual turbolaser turrets each. It bears twenty ion cannon batteries for disabling enemy shields and systems, while also holding eight tubes for assault concussion missiles. Each such tube holds thirty individual missiles. The ship is equipped with eight tractor beam projectors, allowing it to ensnare smaller ships for boarding, but its most impressive weapons have to be the four long-range turbolasers; these experimental weapon systems are lethal from far off, and allow the Ascendancy to perform long-distance ambushes and hit-and-run strikes. |
