Characteristics

Physical Appearance

Locke is attractive, but an unassuming man which allows him to blend well into a crowd. Korwyn’s dark brown hair is kept trimmed in a short faux hawk fade. His deep blue eyes and oval face give him a look of innocence. Korwyn is slightly tan and has an average somewhat well-toned build.

Clothing

Locke dresses practically. He wears a black synthleather jacket over charcoal synthcloth tunic. His trousers are charcoal and his boots are black synthleather. He wears a dark brown synthleather utility belt with a leg holster.

Personality

Korwyn has a very sarcastic nature. To spite this fact, he comes off as likeable. He is highly intelligent and thinks quickly on his feet. Locke can be extremely cruel when he deems it necessary. He is respectful to those of higher rank, which is left over trait from his time in the military. He will often act brazenly without thinking of the consequences of his actions. He is proficient at tracking a target and gathering information on his mark.

Korwyn can be extremely patient when looking at a target through a scope. He will wait for the perfect time to strike, watching the movements of the enemy combatants, civilians, and of the target. He can make a split second decision on whether he should take out his mark or wait for a better opportunity. On the battlefield, Locke often feels very exposed and dislikes having to rely on others to watch his back. He is brash on the battlefield than in a sniper nest, willing to take more chances than he normally would.

Character History

Early life

Korwyn was born on Corulag to wealthy family, and lead a fairly privileged life. His father was a scientist that worked on the Death Star designs. His mother was the daughter of an influential member of theHouse of Citizens. His father, instead of being tried as a war criminal, was offered a position in the New Republic. This allowed his family to keep the majority of their wealth and property. His grandfather was forced to step down from his position. He grew up listening to his father and his maternal grandfather argue politics. Locke’s father enjoyed working for the Republic, but his mother’s father still strongly supported the Empire.

Korwyn attended the Corulag Academy after deciding that he wished to serve in the military. After his graduation he became a commando in the New Republic Special Forces, much to the dismay of his grandfather who was still immensely loyal to the Emperor. His father took a great deal of pride in the fact that his son wanted to serve.

SpecForces

He excelled as a commando during the Yuuzhan Vong War. He received several commendations and awards. Locke often served as sniper cover for his unit. His unit was ordered to join up with the resistance and help them in the retaking of Corulag. He learned of the death of his family from some resistance members. To his surprise, his father and grandfather agreed about the Yuuzhan Vong and were executed by the Peace Brigade while serving in the resistance. After the liberation of the Corulag, he rejoined with Wedge Antilles for the retaking of Coruscant.

Merc Work and Contracts

After the war, Korwyn joined the Mercenary Guild of Coyn. His time with the merc group was served mostly providing counter-sniper protection for several members of the new government of the Galactic Alliance. During this time he felt that many of the politicians he was protecting were as corrupt as the people he was protecting them from.

Locke became increasingly disgruntled with the Galactic Alliance and decided to leave the hire of the Mercenary Guild of Coyn. He called in some of the shadier contacts that he made during his time as a commando and mercenary, quickly he started getting contracts. At first he would only take jobs that he deemed worthy. Slowly he started to deem nearly all contracts he was offered as worthy.

Failed Hit

Korwyn received an anonymous holo from a cloaked figure, who hired him to assassinate one of two Executive Directors of the Dlarit Corporation located in the city of Seng Karash. The target was Jeric Cyrin. Jeric proved to be a hard man to find. Locke eventually got a lead from a bribed secretary, who informed him that Cyrin would be at a press release. Locke scouted the area and found an office window that would be a perfect sniper position. The passing traffic would provide excellent sound masking.

Korwyn entered the building, dressed as a maintenance technician, as it opened. He made his way to the office that he had selected as his sniper nest. Locke took a position near the window. He retrieved hisX-45 components from his maintenance case. As he started to assemble the rifle, the door of the office opened and the occupant saw Locke preparing the rifle. Korwyn drew his Quickfire and killed the businessman. He quickly dragged him through the door, after checking to make sure they were still alone.

Korwyn took his position under the window. The speech had begun. Locke could see his target through the scope. He readied himself as he had many times before. It was almost as if he could feel his target’s presence. He exhaled and the crosshairs settled over Cyrin’s heart. He slowly squeezed the trigger. Silently the weapon fired. Jeric sidestepped the bolt, which instantly killed a Dlarit Police officer. Locke couldn’t believe his eyes. He had never seen anyone move that fast. Cyrin reached out with the force and locked eyes with Korwyn. Locke dropped the rifle and exited the office. He blended with the crowds that were almost in a full riot by time he had reached the street level.

As he prepared to enter the transport off of Aeotheran, a man stepped out of the doorway. Korwyn recognized Jeric immediately and turned to get away, he realized he was surrounded by D-SOG officers.

A New Beginning

To Korwyn’s surprise, he wasn’t killed. He was taken to a holding cell. He was kept waiting without food or water for 2 days, during which he was submitted to multiple test. On the third day, Jeric entered the cell and offered him a position as a D-SOG operative. Not seeing another option, he took the offer. Korwyn was quickly ushered off to the Shadow Academy, where he learned the true nature of who was behind the D-SOG. After his time at the Shadow Academy, he was sent to Clan Naga Sadow to serve in House Marka Ragnos.

Upon his arrival, he was escorted to Jeric’s office. Cyrin informed Korwyn that he was in need of an apprentice. Locke accepted and started his apprenticeship.
