Kaayn was born on the freighter Mugra in 8 ABY. His mother worked in the mess hall on the ship. His father had been killed in an engineering accident before he was born. The resulting settlement made the Salis family very wealthy. However, Kaayns' mother was a simple woman and continued to work in the mess hall.
They lived a relatively simple life until a middle-aged human joined the crew. The man, Sarek Tabanne, claimed he was a recently retired officer of the New Republic. Sarek took an interest in the young boy and identified him as force sensitive. After some persuasion, Kaayn's mother allowed him to begin studying the Force with Sarek.
New Tython and Training 16 ABY - 32 ABY
In 16 ABY; Sa'rek, Kaayn, and his mother left the Mugra and settled on New Tython. Kaayn continued his training under the instruction of Sarek. Growing in power and skill, Kaayn became increasingly arrogant and vain.
In 32 ABY, Kaayn achieved Knighthood.
In 34 ABY, Kaayn was promoted to Jedi General and placed in charge of the 2nd Armored Division.
