Forming
Prefect Arms was founded by Koskian 'Psyko' d'Tana not long after the Exodus, and is one of the original 'shadow' companies of the Tana Consortium. Specializing originally in small arms manufacturing and design, it's moved up to larger projects, including mass producing infantry rifles and even some starship weapons. The company is ran primarily on Nar Shaddaa in a manufacturing block that the Family 'acquired' through various strong arm tactics, and the work force is local. Maurier Security patrols the grounds and Desserx Services does the back ground checks on the workers to insure 'company loyalty'.
External Policy
Prefect Arms deals with just about anyone with the credits to buy. Special orders, while expensive, are a common enough factor to make up a good percentage of the company profits. The current CEO, Koskian, has taken on the interesting problem of keeping the company above the loss line, as much of what the factories produce go to Maurier Security and Ozrei Destructive Applications Company. As both of these are Consortium companies, the profit is essentially non-existent.
In an effort to maximize profits, assembly line droids have been installed for the mass production orders. Standard issue Prefect Arms blaster rifles are being used in minor conflicts throughout the Galaxy, as the company has no scruples in dealing with would-be War Lords or rebels alike. They refuse to do any business with the Emperor's Hammer or any of it's affiliated factions, and avoid dealing with those who would wage war on them so as to not get involved.
The company has no qualms about selling to any Brotherhood Clans, even should they be at war with another Clan that members of the Family are in. The Consortium is able to separate business and personal.
Internal Policy
Prefect Arms deals with internal security issues swiftly and harshly, which has lead to there being very, very few problems. Theft from one of the manufacturing plants results in the death of the thief, and likely anyone who aided them. Theft from the research and development facilities leads to the more drastic 'Family Cleansing' in which the thief and most of his extended family are wiped from existence.
On the up side, the company offers a 15% discount to employees when they purchase weapons for themselves.
Organization
- Chief Executive Officer: Koskian 'Psyko' d'Tana founded, and still controls, the Prefect Arms company and plants. While the majority of the facilities and properties are in other names, they all are owned by Koskian.
- Head of Production: Grid Torna. Grid is a former officer of the Scholae Palatinae fleet, an Ensign on board the Warpsite before being court-martialed for insubordination, and a slew of various charges. He befriended Kosk during battle against the Vong and Arconans, and is one of the few men Koskian trusts.
- Head of Research and Development: Leri Keob, a verpine with various, unproven, criminal connections in his past. His ability to manipulate designs and invent entirely new weapons have made him the primary source of development and head of research.
