The Nifokalija Mountains are a range of uninhabited mountains on the Nifokalija Continent on the planet of Aeotheran. Meaning "Abode of Mist" or "Mist World" in the native tongue of Ombian, which was used by the now extinct Ombi, Nifokalija is forever hidden underneath a heavy blanket of fog. Due to the near impossible task of charting their exact geography, the mountains remain untouched by the mining operations of the Dlarit Corporation that otherwise stretch across most of Aeotheran, the effort having been deemed unprofitable back in 19 ABY by then-consul Xanos Zorrixor after early probes sent into the area were lost to the Mist World. Like many places across the worlds of Orian, the mountains even remain shrouded to Force users, the planet's underlying dark side energies clouding people's Force senses.

The Nifokalija mountain range is therefore a strange, mysterious location. The ruins are known to predate Urias Orian and the Sith species’ occupation of the star system. The ruins have elements of Rakatan architecture, but in some locations feel much older. The Bastion, for example, has closer ties to the black Star Temples of Dathomir than the white pyramids of Lehon—although those both those have their own architectural similarities, too, hinting at an ancient link.

Elsewhere around the star system, however, the ruins on planets such as Sepros and Tarthos have been reoccupied so many times that their origins have been forgotten. For example, on Sepros, the temple that now calls itself home to Clan Naga Sadow no longer carries markings of its original creators, with the Sith and before them the Ombi having both left their own marks, with even sign of the Rakata who long ago ruled the system being hard to identify. If any of the temples on Sepros in fact date back even further this is today impossible to define.

However, the Nifokalija mountain range remains the strongest link to what came first, with ancient ruins that have remained untouched for tens of thousands of years…

Installation Seven

The origin of Installation 7 is unknown.

Located inside the Nifokalija mountains, it is assumed to predate Urias Orian and the Sith species’ colonisation of the world as it exhibits similar Rakatan markings to Installation 6. In addition, however, there are signs of another language, but the markings are too worn by the millennia of erosion to identify a source of origin. Initial analysis suggests similarities to the Star Temples on Dathomir and other worlds in this region, but this is inconclusive at present. An aerial geophysics survey succeeded in identifying a complex underground labyrinth that it is this report’s suggestion displays signs of a defunct mining operation of some form. Due to its location, however, it has proven impossible to obtain any further concise information at this stage.
