"Malo Mori Quam Foedari"
Death before disgrace: Battle Group II's Motto

Battle Group II, nicknamed Vigilance is the second Battle Group in Taldryan's Navy. Commanded by Admiral Raif Slaxton, it consists of multiple warships and support vessels, and is part of the Taldryan Expansionary Force

Mission

Taldryan's Battle Group II, Vigilance, consists of the secondary support elements of Taldryan's Navy. Packing less raw firepower than Battle Group I, Vigilance is filled with the ships of the line that serve more than the singular purpose of death and destruction. As such, it's operational capabilities range from strike, to interdiction and capture, to blockading entire planets and troop transport. With such a varied set of tools available to it, it is not uncommon for individual ships, or small task forces of ships from Vigilance to be separated from the main force to carry out specific missions.

Command Structure

As a fully functional Battle Group in its own right, Vigilance has a strict command structure that it adheres to at all times. Operational command of the Battle Group falls to Battle Group Commander Admiral Raif Slaxton, who commands from his flagship the Relentless. The Battle Group Executive Officer is Commodore Kyle Takan, aboard the Compulsor.

Aboard each individual ship, the captain of the ship is lord and commander, there is no higher authority for onboard personnel than the captain of the vessel. Attached Squadrons will report to a Wing Commander if applicable, who will then report to the captain for orders.

In terms of overall command authority, the Battle Group Commander of Battle Group II ranks third in the entire Taldryan Navy, behind High Admiral Tak Vordin, and the Commander of Battle Group I.

Ships of the Line

BSD Relentless

The Bakura Class Star Destroyer Relentless is the flagship of Battle Group II, and is commanded by Admiral Raif Slaxton. Equipped with the experimental Hyperwave inertial momentum sustainer, the Relentless is capable of defying gravity wells in hyperspace, making it a devastating weapon to break sieges and blockades. Though smaller than an Imperial-II Class Star Destroyer, it is built around the same power reactor, granting it firepower and shielding greater than other vessels it's size.

The Relentless is home to the Sixth Starfighter Wing of Taldryan's Starfighter Command, and outfitted with TIE Defenders and Missile Boats, adding to an already formidable arsenal.

The Majestic-class heavy cruiser Compulsor is the second most powerful ship in Battle Group II, and is commanded by Commodore Kyle Takan, the Battle Group Executive Officer. Designed during the New Republic's New Class Modernization Program, the Majestic-class focused on small, but condensed firepower. Equipped with laser cannons and turbolasers enough to engage either starships or enemy fighters, the Majestic-class also comes equipped with armor the equivalent of a much larger warship, while remaining nimble enough to avoid standard slugging match type battles that star destroyers often find themselves in.

VIN Honor

The Vindicator-class heavy cruiser Honor was one of the Empire's ubiquitous Heavy Cruisers before being acquired by Taldryan. Commanded by Captain Lauren Reumar, this ship, while formidably armed, is considered to be the starfighter carrier for Battle Group II. Like so many Vindicator-class cruisers, the Honor was designed to be able to carry six squadrons of fighters, making it essentially a heavily armed and armored escort carrier.

The Honor is home to the Seventh & Eight Starfighter Wing of Taldryan's Starfighter Command. Outfitted with a variety of TIE Advanced, TIE Hunter & Scimitar Assault Bomber Squadrons, the Honor is well equipped to handle any threat that presents itself.

M/INT Orthanc

The only capital ship to survive the Vong Incursion, the Modified Interdictor Orthanc has been a part of Taldryan's Fleet since it dominated Arcona in a Clan feud. Commanded by Captain Ammar Kordoo, the Orthanc plays a key part in the support role assigned to Battle Group II, aiding in both trapping enemy forces in system during an assault, and pulling enemies out of hyperspace into ambush.

The Orthanc is home to a squadron of TIE Advanced starfighters designated Matsuki to act as it's escort and close protection screen from enemy fighters.

ACC Paragon

The Paragon

The Acclamator I-class assault ship Paragon is a recent addition to Taldryan's Navy. Commanded by Captain Kassandra Gray, the Paragon is Taldryan's primary conveyance of group troops and mechanized infantry. Capable of transporting over 16,000 troopers and support personnel, as well as over 200,000 cubic metres of cargo, it is literally a mobile army staging area. Acclamator-class ships are also capable of making atmospheric entry, and able to land on the surface, as well as water in order to deploy their troops.

Support Craft

There are various models of support craft permanently assigned to Battle Group II. These include but are not limited to:
