The Holocron of the Wang was a Holocron (obviously) created by GM Jac Cotelin. He was awesome. After the Zoraan Uprising and the loss of the Dark Hall, Jac sought council with his GM gal pal Thedek, who was a master of informationy stuff, and learned to create his own, personal holocron.

This little holocron went on to become a Taldryan legacy, storing the essences and knowledge of its Consuls.

When Clans died, Ben the wiki king (holocron masterbator), decided to use the unique properties of the Holocron to allow masters from all across the Brotherhood to add their knowledge and power the artifact. (By coincidence (aka Tal awesomeness), most of those who added to the Holocron had served the Dark Council in some capacity before, during, or after their reigns as Consul.) In this way, despite the Brotherhood's decline, our precious teachings would be kept forever.

Contents

The contents of Holocron Taldrya were unique in that the essences, knowledge, and memoirs of several Dark Jedi were stored within. Perfecting the Holocron over a span of years, Jac Cotelin ensured that, no matter what disasters struck, a historical record would remain that could help rebuild and maintain the ways of the Dark Brotherhood. Though initially a personal Holocron of his own knowledge, the artifact was eventually passed down by the Consuls of Clan Taldryan.

Excerpts from the Holocron Taldra

Jac Cotelin, Grand Master

"A few paragraph excerpt about Jac recalling Mav being fired and forcing himself to take CON for the good of the Clan."

Kir Katarn, Prophet

"Kir's thoughts on the Exodus and what led to it."

Shadow Taldrya, Dark Jedi Master

"Major achievement during PCON, Shadow recalls the Obelisk of Taldryan crushing the pirates of Coratua V."

Duga Arkarso, Adept

"The losses suffered at Antei to the Vong. The destruction of most of the Taldryan Fleet, and death of (former) Archanis QUA Crix Madine."

Halcyon Taldrya, Dark Jedi Master

"Halc, with the task of rebuilding, adds his thoughts on the reclamation of Antei and the death of Sarin leading to Muz becoming GM."

Vodo Biask, Epis

"Written on the even of Clans being dissolved, a more solemn entry on the Brotherhood's membership dwindling and Taldryan changing."

History

Beyond the Ashes

Overview - Zoraan went nuts, destroyed the Dark Hall and with it many of the Brotherhood's important records and teachings. Jac, former GM, was forced to accept the position of CON of Tal when Zoraan drove Telaris Cantor from the position for fear of insurrection.

Jac decided he would seek to re-create the lost knowledge from his own recollection and set up creating a personal holocron.

Construction

Overview - Details about the time Jac spent constructing this particular Holocron.

Memoirs of the Grand Master

Overview - A brief re-telling of what Jac added of himself.

A Legacy Born

Overview - Though initially a personal Holocron and an artifact of Taldryan, this changed while Kir Katarn served as Consul, overseeing the devestation caused by the Exodus. Again, the Brotherhood lost much of its history when Eos was abandoned and left to the Emperor's Hammer. Unable to create a Holocron himself, he sought council with Cotelin who agreed to teach Kir to add his own essence to the Holocron.

This became a new legacy of the Consul's of Taldryan. Before resigning their posts, a Consul would add their own essence--all their knowledge about combat, the Force, the Clan, and the Brotherhood to instruct future generations. In this way, the Holocron Taldrya became a living history of the Brotherhood from the point of view of Clan Taldryan.

Fallen Clan

Overview - Vodo Biask's reign and possibly the last entry into the Holocron as the Brotherhood is forced to restructure its Clans into independent Houses.

Times of Despair

Overview - With the Brotherhood undergoing changes due to a lack of membership, newly appointed Holocron Master (wiki) Benevolent decides to use the Holocron as a tool to record the knowledge of masters of various aspects of the Brotherhood. What began as a personal Holocron of a GM became a Clan Legacy and now resides in the Dark Hall as a powerful collection of Brotherhood knowledge.

Creators

This Holocron was created by Grand Master Jac Cotelin following the events surrounding Grand Master Zoraan's uprising and death; and the destruction of the Dark Hall. The loss of many of Taldryan's early records in the force storms was an impetus for Cotelin to preserve what remained of the Clan's histories for future generations.
