History

Empire in the Phare System

Born on Sif shortly after the Galactic Empire took control of the Phare system, Vega grew up through a great time in the history of his homeworld. The native Saraii tribes and clans were reaching overpopulation problems and had reverted to anarchy over the swiftly dwindling resources. The Imperials quickly improved the quality of life in the system with the eager to adapt and willing to serve once nomadic race of Saraii.

With his parents in the upper hierarchy of the Saraii race and working closely with the Imperials, Vega received all the advantages that the Empire brought to Sif. Attending the exclusive Lumin-Tan Academy, Vega gained the knowledge and connections to excel in the political system of the Phare system.

After serving on numerous board and committees often following the “suggestions” of the Imperial leaders, Vega was rewarded with the position of Mayor of the largest city in the Phare system, Jurass-Kur. Along with the position of Mayor came numerous perks and benefits, Vega began to amass a fortune in credits and gain the influence of many powerful individuals in the system.

The Imperial Remnant

With the death of Palapatine in 4 ABY, the Galactic Empire quickly began to crumble. Focusing on keeping control of a few key systems, they moved the bulk of their forces out of the Phare system. The growth of the system quickly came to a halt, but the inhabitants of Sif continued on with what they already built.

In 13 ABY a Remnant of the Galactic Empire set its eyes on the Phare system. Knowing that the current military could not defeat this new opposition and afraid of losing all his possessions and wealth, Vega used his numerous contacts to propose a deal with the Imperial Remnant. For providing them with key intelligence to take control of the numerous planets of the Phare system with little damage, Vega was allowed to keep what he possessed along with being handsomely rewarded after the Remnant won its victory.

Under the new regime, Vega remained in control of Jurass-Kur. As mayor he was second in command to only one man in the Phare system, Planetary Governor Astronicus Dlarit.

The Dlarit Corporation

Sylus Vega quickly learned not to cross the new Governor and began to become a very useful individual in the re-location of the newly formed Dlarit Corporation to the Phare system. Vega noticed things behind the scenes and grew suspicious of Governor Dlarit, but the rewards from the Dlarit Corporation he received kept his silence. Vega continued to add to his wealth and gain prestige, soon even gaining the station of Legate for the Dlarit Corporation and serving as its representative in the local Imperial Senate.

In 19 ABY when Viceroy Dlarit chose to secede from the Imperial Remnant and move his Corporation, Vega had a very difficult choice. Without the powerful Corporation backing the Imperials, Vega was convinced the system would decline rapidly. To keep his wealth and continue his way of life, he would have to leave the only thing he had been accustomed to, his homeworld. While a difficult decision, Vega’s greed once again took precedence and he moved his possessions to the Orian system along with Viceroy Dlarit.

The True Brotherhood

For his loyalty to the Dlarit Corporation, Sylus Vega was appointed the mayor of Seng Karash on Aeotheran. Seng Karash quickly became the principle city of the Orian system, becoming the home to the majority of the Dlarit Corporation's civilian employees. What the city is today is due to the programs and plans of Sylus Vega, including the vast amount of criminal organizations.

No longer under the direct eye of Viceroy Dlarit, Vega began to scheme and plot both politically and militarily. Placing numerous pawns in place and planning one day to be in totally control of the system and Dlarit Corporation, Vega slowly became a threat to the Viceroy.

In 27 ABY, Vega once again betrayed his leaders and gave crucial intelligence to a faction known as the True Brotherhood and it’s current leader Anaxela Goura. Vega informed them of the current location of the Dlarit Navy and with the fact of the Orian system’s lack of defense. Knowing the crucial time to attack, the True Brotherhood took control of the Orian system along with the city of Seng Karash.

Believing Viceroy Dlairt and his troops dead by the Yuuzhan Vong, Vega once again believed he had picked the winning side of a conflict. However, he had finally made a crucial mistake. The Viceroy and the Dlarit Navy returned and defeated the True Brotherhood. Fearing of the repercussions, Vega disappeared into the jungles of Aeotheran.

In a short time, rumors began of Sylus Vega creating his own company and ruling from the shadows. As acting President of Vega Incorporated, he had his hand in various crime syndicates of not only Seng Karash, but all over the Orian system. Vega was placed on the Dlarit Corporation's Most Wanted list and is currently being sought by the Dlarit Police of Seng Karash.

Personality

Sylus Vega is a greedy and ruthless individual. He is willing to enter into almost any financial engagement so long as there is a promise of great profit involved. Vega’s only true allegiance is to Vega himself, and it is common for him to betray his own servants, as well as clients, so long as it suits his purpose.

Trivia

Sylus Vega will feature in an upcoming Clan Naga Sadow competition later in Summer 2009.
