Seridan is a young Miraluka, born in 16 ABY. He stumbled upon the ruins of Menat Ombo when he was 19, and was inspired to search the Jedi. After a year and a half, he found the Jedi of House Odan-Urr. He was accepted quickly into the group, and he began to study under the experienced Adeodatus. He has gone on to ascend the ranks quickly.

Character History

Early Life

The People of Alpheridies

The population of Alpheridies is almost all Miralukan. There are a few members of other species, but these are incredibly rare. Before the rise of the Empire, Miraluka helped out in the Temples of the Jedi. In the wake of the Jedi Purge, in which many Miraluka were killed, the Miraluka started to resent the Repubic and the Jedi. They resigned from the Empire early on and became quite isolated. Their culture hasn’t changed. It remains to be one of peace and knowledge. They banish anyone who practice acts fuelled by negative intentions. If they were to offer opinions on the Jedi, they would undoubtedly support the Light Side.

Seridan’s Upbringing (16 - 22 ABY)

A Luka Sene Student.

Seridan was born on Alpheridies in 16 ABY into a close-knit village on the outskirts of the capital. He lived his very early years constantly learning. This led to his profound passion for knowledge. His family were renowned scholars and were keen for Seridan to follow in their footsteps. From a young age, he was taught a lot, developing his logic and lore.

Luka Sene(23 - 31 ABY)

In 23 ABY, when Seridan was only 7 years old, he was singled out as a particularly strong user of the Force. Miralukans see using the Force, as they do not have eyes. Strong users of the Force were sent to the Luka Sene. This was a university where these individuals furthered their knowledge. It was a very prestigious honour, bringing pride and prestige to his village.

Very few Miralukans ever became Jedi; in the Jedi temples of old, they mainly helped out and assistedthe Jedi. However, since the Great Jedi Purge (where many Miraluka were slaughtered) the Miraluka of Alpheridies were very reluctant to associate themselves with the New Jedi Order or the New Republic.

Seridan continued to further his knowledge and wisdom. He was also taught the teachings of his ancestors, as he was being prepared to lead the Miraluka. His understanding of technology, as well as how the galaxy operated, was greatly improved by his time at the Luka Sene.

He grew close to his mentor, Mithrain. Mithrain had many controversial views, such as bolstering Alpheridies’ economy by trading with the Republic. He often would journey to Coruscant to try to pioneer some trade relationships with the large companies.

However, on one of his pioneering trips, he was taken captive by a pirate. The High Council was sent a holovid, asking for a large ransom. They stayed true to their principles, and disapproved the offer. They tried to find a more peaceful resolution to the matter, a compromise that would benefit them both. The pirate, whose name was Ka’laush, found the whole ordeal amusing. But the Council’s stubbornness ultimately led to Mithrain’s demise.

It soured the Council further on any relationship with the Republic, retracting all contact with off-worlders. Seridan, who suffered a great deal at his mentor’s death, adopted a new mindset, willing to take action if words would not suffice. A mantra that he would chant every night was ‘Action, as well as power’.

The New Republic Scout Service (32 - 35 ABY)

However, in 32 ABY, Seridan gained access to galactic-wide news services. At the Luka Sene, very little was taught about the rise of the Empire. Therefore, this discovery of news led to his discovery of the galaxy’s true history. He realised that the Miraluka of Alpheridies were being very apathetic and wrong.

He wanted to help and use his knowledge. His extreme confidence in his abilities led him to leave Alpheridies for Coruscant, where he attempted to join the New Republic Navy. After being declined due to inter-species prejudice, Seridan instead tried out for the Scout Service.

He was successful in joining the Scouts. Unfortunately, he joined a very right-wing team, where there was one leader - a human named Jok - and everyone else followed him to the letter. He was constantly berated and bullied by his team for 3 years. He was unable to quit the team due to solid threats and constant surveillance.

He was under constant oppression, forced to work through the night and often beaten. A colleague once spoke out against Jok, but the others brutally killed him, before disposing of the body in the vacuum of space.

The Search for the Jedi (35 - 37 ABY)

In 35 ABY, he made the decision to escape the crew after experiencing a strong Force vision whilst exploring the ruins of a Jedi Temple on Harakoa. Seridan was able to escape the crew by imitating a slave girl that he had seen on Tatooine, but collapsing and feigning fatal exhaustion. His crew left him to die, unwilling to heal or cure his ailments.

The Force vision showed Seridan the invasion of New Tython and the resultant massacre of Menat Ombo. It showed the Jedi, defending their homeland and protecting innocents. It inspired Seridan with a purpose - to find these Jedi and join their cause.

It was this strong vision, combined with his sudden isolation that spurred Seridan in searching for the surviving Jedi.

His search lasted many weeks, and was concluded by meeting a Jedi in a run-down cantina on the outerrim. This Jedi, a man named Adeodatus, brought Seridan before the House Summit of Odan-Urr. They proceeded to send him to the Shadow Academy for formal testing.

House Odan-Urr (37 ABY - Present)

Seridan practicing newly learnt skills

Seridan has been with the House for about half a year. Seridan has made progress with his Force studies, by becoming a student of Adeodatus, and gaining his own armory Lightsaber and progressing to the rank of Padawan.

Apart from his training from Adeodatus, Seridan has trained with Kah, House Odan-Urr’s Rollmaster, progressing his Force and combat abilities.

He has journeyed as a tool of Odan-Urr, striving to stop the other Houses in their evil tasks. He has fought the foe as part of an elite strike team on the world of Bosthirda, but was unsuccessful in their task, which was to capture and destroy the Lost Sword of Ferran. He has also journeyed to the Sith world of Begeren, where he endeavoured to stop an ancient Sith artifact from falling into the arms of a Dark Jedi Master. In this task, he ultimately failed. His arm was mutilated and his body left for Odan Urr to rescue.

After his recovery from the duel, he was sent as part of Strike Team Ooroo to New Tython. There, he aided the prison break of Purity Rock. The Knights of Allusis, as well as countless colonists and Harakoans were set free. In the aftermath, the Jedi came out with two Alpha’s Omega starships: both Assassin-Corvettes.

With the success of the prison break and the vast increase of manpower, the Summit prepared for the invasion of New Tython. In the first phase, Seridan journeyed to the Dac Compound, disabling the defences and using covert operations to kill the enemy. In the second stage, he was part of a team that attacked the Tanduran Settlement. They infiltrated it’s border and disabled its shield generator. In the final phase of the invasion, the Jedi of Odan urr converged on the capital: Menat Ombo. Seridan helped to destroy the air support, as well as helping the Tribal Army to kill the soldiers. In the last charge, Seridan attacked the bulk of Thuron’s guard. In a fierce fight with an Elite Guard, Seridan’s right arm was grievously wounded. It was amputated and in its place is a robotic replacement.

As he is still learning and studying the force, Seridan doesn’t like to think on his future as he fully understands that the future is ever-changing. Seridan chooses to use the Force as his guide and takes each day as it comes, unless a disturbance in the force causes him to start pondering the future. Whenever his thoughts do turn to the future, it is always the future of others and of societies, not of himself, as this can be corrupting.

Personality

Seridan has grown up around pacifists and advocates of peace, so he is profoundly peaceful in his efforts. His upbringing also encouraged continuous learning. Hence, Seridan has become wholly more curious about the world and the Force.

However, Seridan has a drive for justice rarely seen in the Miraluka. A result of the injustice he has faced, Seridan has a drive to stop any oppression around the galaxy. He acknowledges that knowledge and wisdom alone cannot win every battle. He works on a ‘Be Prepared’ basis. He trains so that his body and combat skills are ready for every eventuality.

This combination of knowledge and action is the reason why Seridan is of the Sentinel Order.

Physical Description

File:Avatar5.jpg

Seridan is a tall and slim Miralukan Male. He wears the traditional jedi robes over his wiry frame. The simple garments are loose, as Seridan is still growing. It is usual for Miralukans to continue to grow, however slowly, until their early 30s.
He has dirty, messy blonde hair that is kept well cut, but not well groomed. He wears a simple and undecorated white and blue blindfold to cover his empty eye sockets. His brows are particularly noticeable, as they are able to portray a surprisingly wide variety of expressions. Seridan has high, distinguished cheekbones, and a sharp jaw. His head molds itself onto his slender neck, which in turn rests upon his slim shoulders.

Due to Seridan’s sheltered childhood, he bears very little battle damage. Mostly he just has a few very minor scars on his hands and feet from when he was a Republic Scout.

His height and slimness, combined with his near-perfect posture, often creates the illusion of Seridan being overly tall, when he is about average for near-humans. His posture and his distinguished facial bones often suggest a natural aptitude for precision and accuracy.
