The following article is the culmination of the Brotherhood’s intelligence reports on the organization introduced in the aftermath of the Thirteenth Great Jedi War that call themselves the The Tenixir Revenants.

History

The Founding Year

The Tenixir Revenants is a new criminal organization in the galaxy. Comprised of loosely aligned sects, this group has quickly spread its influence in the Outer-Rim. The first appearances of the Revenants occurred in the months following a massive prison riot on the Principate’s secret prison planet, Tenixir.

In early 38 ABY, The Collective staged a massive riot in the supermax prison as a distraction to extract their own people who had been captured following the events of the Thirteenth Great Jedi War in the Lyra system. In the chaos that followed, the Principate called upon their new allies, the Dark Brotherhood to help restore order to the prison complex.

Many of the inmates, behind the leadership of pirate Rasha Hawee, unified to help Brotherhood forces restore order to the prison, primarily from a self-preservation mindset. While the Collective succeeded in freeing some of their scientists from the complex, order was quickly restored.

Over the course of the riot, the location of the prison planet was released to the galaxy compromising its continued security. The Principate, who were already transferring prisoners to the Brotherhood to manage, decided to offload nearly the entire surviving prisoner population to the Brotherhood.

Following this prisoner transfer, members of the Shroud Syndicate indicated the potential usefulness of some of the prisoners as freelance criminals. Because of this, many of the transferred prisoners were released with a wink and a nod to keep the Syndicate in mind.

These released prisoners unified under the leadership of Hawee, and took this as an opportunity to be “reborn”, a free people with many differing goals and skill sets.

In the wake of the Fourteenth Great Jedi War, the Revenants began raiding Collective supply bases, taking advantage of the opportunity given by the war's distractions. The information of these locations was given by a surprising source: Avitus Oligard. Using the material as payment for their services, he remained a passenger on the Braha'tok-class Gunship Enduring Freedom, utilising it to covertly visit a variety of locations. Seemingly talking to himself all the while, Avitus led them to a number of dig sites where he retrieved a number of mysterious crystals. Under the command of Hawee herself, the ship visited a number of worlds, and barely avoided destruction after abruptly encountering the Principate First Fleet over the fifth moon of Jumarrot.

A combination of distrust for Avitus and chance encounter with Principate led to rising tensions between Hawee and her first mate, Zyft Yadar. This did not take long to spread among the crew as many became disgruntled with this direction. Even as she was imprisoned under accusations of mutiny, Yadar maintained that it was outright suicide to wage a full-scale war against the Principate, and that Hawee's behaviour had become increasingly erratic. As Yadar was dragged away, Hawee spoke of a relentless act of retribution and promised the growing Revenant fleet revenge against the Principate for their treatment.

Unbeknownst to the Revenants, a similar split was taking place among the Principate as well. More idealistic voices were clashing with those demanding a more militant response, as the Triumvirate broke into two conflicting factions. All of this was manipulated by another side, seeking to turn the embers of discontent into a raging inferno. A Seer, directly speaking with Avitus and serving an unknown master, pushed the conflict to a breaking point. This would come with the auction on [Dandoran], where various crystals that the groups had been hunting for were placed up for auction. Hawee's representatives were met by those of the Principate, and soon a vicious firefight erupted in the auction hall.

Hearing of the violence only after the fact, Hawee rapidly sought to capitalize upon it. Seeking to advance her fight against the Principate after learning they had a substantial presence on the world, she believed that this was a chance for revenge. Yet as she pushed to carry out these orders, others countermanded them and instead focused upon survival. Rescued from her prison by Avitus and entering an untrustworthy alliance with him, Yadar had secretly entered Tipool City. Taking command of groups more loyal to her leadership, she had sought to withdraw and avoid engagements rather than further escalating the violence. This worked for some time, with Hawee's group entering a stalemate with the Principate forces led by Triumvir Muktiba, who had been actively taking prisoners and engaging the Revenants on only a limited front.

Matters soon became worse with the arrival of several new figures. Triumvirs Xarel and Freewoman joined Muktiba, both seeking to annihilate the Revenants now that they had been pinned down on a single location. Heedless of the casualties it might cause, Xarel first insisted that they press their offensive, before Freewoman unleashed their new weapons: Restoration Troopers. Bonded with the same crystals that they had been hunting, the creatures were mindless abominations that were almost invulnerable to damage, and were bent upon killing anything in their path. The creatures soon began inflicting heavy casualties upon the Revenants any civilian unfortunate enough to come upon them, driving the pirates before them.

Casualties rapidly mounted, but before the Principate could accomplish its victory, the Seer arrived in person. Unleashing her own abominations and taking control of the Restoration Troopers through an unknown means, she began hunting for Avitus as her new soldiers slaughtered everything within reach, including their former allies. The city became a bloodbath, before Avitus gave himself up, parting from Yadar and willingly joining the Seer. The two departed shortly afterwards along with the other members of their faction, leaving the Principate and Revenants to lick their wounds. The fighting had been vicious, but it had left the more reasonable elements of both sides alive to arrange a ceasefire. With Freewoman dead and Xarel having defected to the Seer, Muktiba could speak with total authority, while Hawee was in no position to oppose her views. Although there was much hatred, the agreement was made for the sides to depart peacefully and to ultimately avoid further confrontations.

Once they returned to the fleet, Yadar took the opportunity to imprison and overthrow Hawee, locking her in the same cage that she had once been isolated in.

A New Heading

Under Yadar's leadership, the Revenants spent years freeing themselves from the prior conflict and retaining a sense of identity in the face of their truce with the Severian Principate. A significant portion of their time was spent confirming that Hawee's behavior was not under the influence of any other force as she claimed, and was entirely by choice. After nearly two years of testing and various checks, Yadar opted to trade her to the Collective in 41 ABY. This was a part of a wider series of deals between the two groups, and it was heavily implied that Hawee's fate would be used for either experimental procedures or conversion into a combat cyborg.

Organization

As a criminal organization, the Tenixir Revenant is very localized in leadership. Unified under the control of their Captain Zyft Yadar, First-mate Nervitt, and Quartermaster Leira Steele, most of the Revenant operate independently of each other onboard their own ships known as sects.

The Revenant have made it clear that the strong and competent lead, but within the differing sects contention still may remain. It is the responsibility of Hawee, Yadar, and Nervitt to maintain decorum between the different sects whilst also indicating they should not be contested by any ambitious members of the group. The true unifying factor of the sects is their absolute hatred of the Principate and personal desires for absolute personal freedom.

The Sects

Each ship/sect of the Tenixir Revenant is free to operate as they see fit, so long as it is not against other members of the Revenants. Often the sects blend from one type to another, but each has a primary focus based on the crew’s skill sets and desires.

Piracy

The primary modus operandi of the Revenant is piracy. The bulk of sects ultimately follow the direct lead of Hawee who has a lifetime of piracy behind her. While Hawee herself is strict, she is not unnecessarily blood thirsty. As each ship is independent of each other however, that means there is a wide array of possible outcomes for those facing one of the Piracy sects. Some are downright polite and professional in their capture of ships, others seek in cause maximum damage to those they target.

Smuggling

Closely related to the piracy sects, and in some cases overlapping are the groups that focus on smuggling. Everything from spice to weapons to slaves is on the table between these sects. From Felucia to Coruscant there is no place they are not willing to attempt to sneak goods from or into.

Guns for Hire

Many of the freed prisoners were imprisoned for murder. These sects care little for the lives of those around them, and hire themselves out as muscle or for assassination. Be warned, in most cases they seek maximum carnage whilst working. They are often seen backing up the other sects of the Revenants.

Culture and Territories

The Tenixir Revenants have no centralized base of operations, or system to call home. Their territories are instead the ships they own, commandeer, and steal. Since their organization, their numbers have been in flux, as members are killed and captured or new recruits sign up. Their influence is minor in comparison to some of the larger criminal organizations such as the Hutt Cartels or the Crimson Dawn. However, they are capable of striking anywhere in the galaxy at large and have begun to take action from the core worlds to the outer rim.

The Revenants are rough and rowdy, uncouth and uncultured. Fights are common even within their ranks, but influence from the top has enough muscle behind it to maintain a sense of order and unity between the sects. Their numbers are filled with all kinds of species and cultures, each finding a place to inject themselves into the overall group atmosphere.

Military Assets

Through various means, the Revenants have gained control over a small fleet of moderate sized ships and starfighters. While lacking the sheer firepower of a dedicated capital ship or the support of a dedicated cruiser, this mix of corvettes, transports, frigates, and gunships has proven suitable to their general tactics of theft and mercenary work. The majority of these are older vessels from the Galactic Civil War era, primarily consisting of those utilised by the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The Revenants' ground forces are similarly limited, with fully half of them consisting of Drop Companies well suited to their general methods: Capable of being readily deployed, with a mix of varied weapons and equipment, and enough supplies to operate with limited support for a period of several weeks. The other half consist of more generally formed Raider companies that serve as heavy infantry, and are armed with anti-armour weaponry. The groups are divided up into two primary groups: Rasha's Roughriders and the Raiders.

However, during the Rite of Supremacy: Escalation event, the Revenants' forces saw a number of major improvements. Thanks to Avitus Oligard's information, both the Roughriders and Ravagers saw their numbers enhanced by stolen Collective assets, with cruisers and dreadnoughts joining each force.

Foreign Association and Affairs

The Dark Brotherhood

While the initial group of Revenants have the Brotherhood to thank for their freedom, they have not forgotten the absolutely brutal way the Brotherhood restored order on Tenixir. Coupled with the Brotherhood’s continued relationship with the Severian Principate they remain very distrustful.

The Severian Principate

While a thorn in the side of many legitimate governments including the New Republic, the Revenants poke at the Principate the most. In their eyes the Principate was the true source of their suffering and the Revenants always jump at an opportunity to work against the Principate’s goals. How this has changed following the rise of the Harmonist government within the Principate remains unclear, but the two groups at least agreed to a ceasefire on Dandoran.

The Collective

There are many former Collective members of the Revenants. Feeling abandoned or betrayed by the Collective, these individuals continue to ensure that relationships with the Collective remain spotty at best. While some sects are more willing to work with them than others, the overall view of the Collective is one of indifference. Due to other defections prior to open war or losses from the events on Dandoran, few were aware of the Brotherhood's conflict with the group around 41 ABY, and were willing to open trade deals with the organization, such as the sale of cybernetic components.
