The Legions of Scholae Palatinae, the armed forces of the Clan, are the most advanced soldiers of the Cocytus System. The soldiers, or Stormtroopers, are created and trained in the same mold as their predecessors. Very few military powers can rival their vast experience, ability and potential in the field of battle. It is the established military prowess of these 'grunts' that have solidified Clan Scholae Palatinae's claim as one of the militant pillars of the Dark Brotherhood.


History

Creation

History is not entirely accurate, as the founder of the Clan has long since embarked on a journey with an end unknown, but scrolls seemingly indicate a large deposit of soldiers were granted by the Emperor Palpatine to a devoted task force of guardians: Scholae Palatinae (The Palace Guard). These warriors were instituted to act as mystic extensions of the Dark Lord of the Sith. Additionally, they were tasked not only with executing his will, but safeguarding the Dark Lord. So, in his divine wisdom, he entrusted his Sentinels with the authority to command. With his downfall, upon the planet Byss, these soldiers swore fealty to the Clan - becoming their personal guardians... the extension of Scholae Palatinae's will.


Judecca

With their departure from dark lands, they became a solidified House within the Emperor's Hammer; acting as the Guardians of the Grand Master. However, the Dark Brotherhood broke away from the oppressive Emperor's Hammer - thus, the defenders of the Grand Master sought out a new home. Making peace within the Cocytus System, on the planet Judecca, where the Armed Forces have continually added to their elements, both Soldiers and Officers. They are the military backbone of the Clan... they are the Legions of Scholae Palatinae.


Marshal Plan Charlie

In an effort to better synchronize the Clan’s membership with the new military of Scholae Palatinae, the Grand Marshal, Lucien Kaeth, has instituted Marshal Plan Charlie. Effective immediately, and in all times of war as declared by the Senate of Scholae Palatinae, the military will be under full command of the Dark Jedi Forces of Scholae Palatinae.

Members will be assigned command of troops based on rank. The number and type of troops will depend on a number of factors, most notably, Dark Jedi rank and prestige. This scale takes into account a number of factors including standing within the Clan as well as nobility.

There are differences within the branches of military when it comes to types of command that a Dark Jedi can strive for. The Grand Marshal has provided details below. Please note that the new details may mean that some members will have to change branches of the military for the time being.

One note before the details: you are free to opt out of the military at any time. You can choose not to participate in the military at all and above all else, your Battleteam, House, and Clan come first before military service. These ranks, save a select few, and the War Council, are for times of declared war ONLY. It is during these times that you will be mobilized and given command. During times of 'peace' the units will revert to NPC command.


Current Status

Heavy casualties were suffered by the Imperial Scholae during the retaking of Antei, attrition warfare against the terrorist organization known as the "The Cause" in the Cocytus System, and the battle for Salas V. This forced another reorganization with the focus of the legions being system defense and expeditionary warfare. Planetary security now falls under the intelligence branch of the military.




Structure & Ranks

Structure

The command structure, or element breakdown, of the Legions of Scholae Palatinae complies with Imperial Armed Forces criteria. With a single exception, the term battalion is instead replaced with the Royal Title of Legion. As such, the collective identity of the entire Clan Armed Forces falls under the official title: Legions of Scholae Palatinae.

Because the Army is made of such a large number of Soldiers, it must be organized into units, each with its own leaders and reporting structure. Each unit, whether it’s a squad or division, was created to respond to any mission, regardless of size or complexity.

Officers

Commissioned Officers are the managers, problem-solvers, key influencers and planners who lead Enlisted Soldiers in all situations. They have the skills, the training, and the character needed to inspire and encourage others. They embrace and embody the Core Army Values and apply them to every decision they make and every action they take. An Officer’s rank can range from Officer Candidate to Surface Marshal.

Enlisted Ranks

Enlisted Soldiers put plans into action. Much like employees at a company, Enlisted Soldiers perform specific job functions and have the knowledge that ensures the success of their unit’s current mission within the Army. An Enlisted Soldier’s rank can range from Private to Sergeant Major or Mastery Gunnery Sergeant.
