- "Whatever you can possibly imagine you want, this Cantina will have it."
- ―Thran Occasus, upon the opening of the Sunset Cantina
The Cantina is an 'L' shaped building located near to the main building of the Caliburnus compound, the Obsidian Palace. Many high-ranking Caliburnus and Scholae Palatinae Dark Jedi have been seen here, usually after a long mission or to celebrate an elevation: Brent "Archangel" Ligur Victae, Rayne Victae, Impetus M'Nar and Kael Fayne. It has also been the location of many force-powered brawls.
The dull grey stone building holds the main alcohol and food storage for the Battleteam, as well as being the entertainment place for all members and is split into three floors. It is the frequent focal point for the relaxation and enjoyment of the members of the Battleteam. The Cantina serves light meals but is best known for its wide assortment of beverages. Friendly gaming is also provided at tables on the second floor. The Sunset Cantina was built during the reign of Thran Occasus as Quaestor, since that time it has earned the informal nickname of "Thran's Place".
Basement Level
The basement level is largely taken up by the kitchen with the shorter branch of the L shaped building being arranged to hold the various appliances and storage for the preparation of the food served at the Cantina. There is a stairway and lift at the central corner of the L which allows for easy movement of the food and beverages to the rest of the Cantina.
The longer portion of the L is devoted largely to the vast amount of storage needed to keep the necessary stock for the busy Cantina. The final store room at the very end of the L is protected by a vault door with very tight security. Only one person is allowed access to this store room which houses the large stock of rum and other assorted favorites of former Quaestor Rasilvenaira StormRaven, that being the StormRaven herself.
First Floor
The main entrance into the Cantina is located along the front side of the shorter branch of the L shaped building. Upon entering one is greeted by banners displaying the Battleteam and House crests, as well as other banners displaying the colors of the three orders. Being traditionally the Sith battleteam however, the predominating color scheme for the Cantina is various shades of crimson, grey, and black. The room is comfortably decorated with tables and chairs to accommodate its patrons. Along one wall are more private booths for those who wish to use them.
The central corner of the L contains a lift and stairway to allow patrons to reach the second floor, and for the staff to bring up food and beverages from the lower level. Across from the lift and stairway, forming an arch around the other side of the L’s corner is a stage where musicians can perform and be seen and heard by most of the patrons within the cantina.
Along the northern side of the longer arm of the L is the bar itself, constantly busy providing for the members of Battleteam Caliburnus. Tables are situated along the room as well, but there are several sliding glass doors that open out to the patio that runs along the front of the Cantina allowing patrons to enjoy their drinks and meals outside when the weather is good.
Second Floor
The upper floor of the Cantina is decorated much like the first floor with the House and Battleteam banners displayed along the walls. The shorter arm of the L provides for a secondary bar to cater to the drinking needs of the patrons. The tables and chairs on this floor are a bit more luxurious in design, and it is the upper floor where more of the higher ranking Battleteam members will congregate.
Place at the far end of the longer branch of the L is another stage for more musicians, and a spacious dance area for those who are inclined. The rest of the room is devoted to several gaming tables for the recreation of the Battleteams’s members. There are also doors opening out to a balcony situated above the patio providing alternative seating for those who wish to enjoy the weather.
