Character History
Early Life
Ban Quell was born on Anaxes in 17 BBY, at the height of the Galactic Empire. His father was an officer in the Imperial Fleet, a lowly Lieutenant serving aboard an Imperial Star Destroyer called the Intrepid. His mother was a mere factory worker, who struggled to raise the boy due to his father being away for long periods of time. Ban was a shy boy, quite insular in his dealings with other children. Reaching the age of 12, he entered the Imperial Academy upon Anaxes, which prepared him for his future in the armed forces of the Empire.
Ban found his true calling in the Academy, the once shy and lonesome boy turning into an outgoing and popular young man. His instructors were pleased with this turn around and marked Quell for a station aboard a Carrack Cruiser, placing him into active duty at the age of 16. The newly gazetted Ensign excelled in his position, gaining rapid promotion to the rank of Lieutenant and a transfer to a Victory-class Star Destroyer.
Servitude to the Empire
Ban was now a Lieutenant serving aboard the Star Destroyer Gallant, this vessel was assisting in keeping trade routes secure and hunting down pirates along the Perlemian Trade Route. The Gallant scored several kills while on this tour of duty. Quell was 21 years of age when his vessel was pressed into service against the rebels.
Ban continued to serve with distinction, eventually getting a commission as a Captain aboard the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Revenant after the destruction of the Second Death Star over Endor, the Anaxsi served as captain for several years amongst the Imperial Remnant, serving under the Moffs who scrapped amongst themselves for the pieces of the once vast Galactic Empire.
Eventually tiring of serving corrupt warlords, Ban retired from active service, moving back to his homeworld of Anaxes, where he taught at the Imperial Naval Academy. His service to the Empire had not gone un-noticed, however, and he was approached by an agent of the Dajorra Intelligence Agency, who attempted to recruit the Captain for the AEF. Ban relished a chance to get back into the action and accepted the offer, relocating to the Dajorra System where he signed up for the Arconan Armed Forces.
Arconan Naval Service
Ban's experience in leading troops, his natural charismatic nature driving his men on to new extremes captured the attention of Sashar Arconae, the Consul of Clan Arcona. The Mandalorian appointed the Anaxsi as the Captain and CO of the newly commissioned Nebula-class Star Destroyer Invicta, knowing that the experienced naval officer would serve the Clan well.
Appearance and Personality
Ban is a relatively mediocre looking man, which belays the Anaxsi's real character. He is charismatic, a fierce warrior when action comes alooking, he stands in the thick of the battle and directs his men in a cool and calm manner. This has been brought about by almost 2 decades of active service in the Imperial Navy against all manner of enemies, the Rebels, pirates, the Yuuzhan Vong and even dissenting populations of Imperial Worlds.
He can be cruel and capricious when the whim takes him, however he has his men's undivided loyalty, all willing to die for him and the Arconan Armed Forces if necessary.
