He has also fathered a son with Shadow named Sorin. Due to his past experiences from Sith experimentation with alchemy and sorcery, he struggles with an affliction that Shadow continues to help him to control. |

| === Summary ===
| |
| Haro Zylrun was born on Mandalore to Parun and Akaata Zylrun. He has a younger brother named Jhefi, and a baby sister named Ruusaan. He joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood on his twentieth birthday. He is now twenty-three years old, and an active member of Clan Vizsla.
| |
| === Early Life === | | === Early Life === |
| Haro Zylrun was born at 03:06 on April 13th, 20 ABY to Parun and Akaata Zylrun, two members of a community of a hundred or so Mandalorians who were working to rebuild Mandalore's capital city of Sundari. The number of Mandalorians was steadily growing, as around two or three Mandos arrived to the village every month.
| | Sanguis grew up in a loving family that upheld the Nagai values of honor. However, unlike most Nagai who sought honor in combat, his parents believed in serving the family as another form of honor; and both parents raised and nurtured their son with both love and discipline. At least until war broke out and both parents were called to service when he was ten years old. Unfortunately, Nataya was in the wrong place at the wrong time attending to the wounded and was killed from a nearby explosion. Her death led to Sanguis’ father returning home to a grieving son. However, the loss of his wife began to take a toll on Talmiren, and he began to exhibit bouts of erratic behavior. Becoming more cold and silent, Talmiren began to ignore his son. On days when he locked himself away in his room, Talmiren’s brother Mukuro would take care of Sanguis and give him the love that his father no longer gave him. |
| | | ==== Madness ==== |
| Haro started his training early, as with all born Mandos, being taught weapon safety while he was still in a birikad. He started his training in knife fighting and martial arts at the age of three and a half, only a couple years after learning to walk.
| | Unfortunately, madness would overcome Sanguis’ father one night. Insanity, having him believe that shedding his son's blood would bring his wife back, led the deranged father to attack a terrified Sanguis in bed. Fortunately, Mukuro arrived in time to save the boy. In the scuffle, Sanguis' father was killed by his own hand and blade. The boy, now an orphan, was taken in by his uncle who would continue to raise him. |
| | | === Early Military Career === |
| Soon after Haro turned four, he got a younger brother named Jhefi. He tried to be a good example for his new brother, such as eating all his food, using the oshokita by himself, and helping with chores around the house.
| | As Sanguis grew up, he took interest in his family's military history. Encouraged by his uncle in hopes that a military career would help him overcome the sorrows of his past, Sanguis joined the Nagai military academy. Determined, the young man excelled in his studies and training and graduated from the academy as an officer for the Nagai military. Proud of his accomplishments, Sanguis' uncle held a party for him with help of Sanguis' comrades. Not long after, Sanguis paid a visit to his parents' graves hoping that they were proud of him. |
| | | ==== The General's Daughter ==== |
| Haro grew quickly, and at the age of five he started blaster training. He often came home and told his brother what he had learned, even though Jhefi was too young to understand what he was talking about. In the months after, he trained as often as he could, though he always had time for a game of get'shuk with the other adiike.
| | Prospering in his military career, Sanguis caught the attention of many women. However, there was only one who captured Sanguis' heart, and that was a general's daughter, Elena. Both had met during his latter years in the academy, and they had become friends. However, time worked its magic, and both eventually fell in love with each other. Unfortunately, the sudden disappearance of Sanguis' uncle threatened to ruin their relationship. Mukuro Caldiren's disappearance led to an investigation that would lead to the discovery of a half-burnt journal. Within its pages was recorded the madness of Sanguis' father, and the Nagai's superiors became concerned. Word got out, and rumors spread with many believing that it was the Force or "magic" that drove Talmiren mad. This led to friends and comrades distancing themselves from Sanguis, and Elena's father began to push for his daughter to end the relationship. However, Elena refused to do so, having faith in Sanguis that the Force was more of a gift for him to embrace instead of fearing it. |
| | |
| === A Dangerous Accident === | |
| At seven years old, Haro started his training with explosives. His uncle Jifo brought him to the old city to see how they were using bombs to clear away the trinitite covering the ruins, and shown some of the other equipment being used to break up the crystal. He got to set some charges (with supervision from the other adults there) and detonate them to see how powerful the explosives were. He was told how every month, a different third of the adults in the community was assigned to work on clearing the trinitite, and how they rotated between three groups throughout the years. Eventually, he had to go home, but he stealthily stole a thermal detonator to show his younger brother. At night, Haro woke Jhefi and brought him to the mine to show him the pilfered explosive. He took him to a secluded location and activated the thermal detonator, throwing it as far as he could. However, instead of landing and exploding where they both could see it, like he intended it to, the grenade fell into a cave and exploded, waking up a sleeping jai'galaar. The creature flew out of the cave and grabbed both brothers before trying to fly away.
| |
|
| |
|
| Before it could bring them too far, however, Haro drew his knife and stabbed the foot that was carrying him. The shriek-hawk dropped him, and he fell fifty feet, landing on his face and arm. The resulting injuries included a broken nose, broken arm, and three broken ribs, as well as several lacerations and a broken toe. He quickly got to his feet to try and follow the creature, but it passed out of sight quickly. He limped back to the village and woke his parents, explaining the situation. They sounded the alarm and assembled a search team to rescue Jhefi. They told Haro to head to the infirmary, but he refused, stating that it was his fault this happened in the first place, so it was his duty to help resolve it, even with his injuries.
| | === Tragedy === |
| | Despite all the fear for the officer, Sanguis' life was still a pleasant one. He continued to impress his superiors, and his relationship with Elena flourished to the point that they became engaged. The engagement, however, didn't sit well with Elena's father. Willing to give up his career to be with the woman he loved, Sanguis and Elena chose to elope far away, elsewhere on Nagi. They found a village where they could live in peace. Sadly, a different kind of threat would disrupt their life. Two Sith from an expedition fleet discovered the more primitive world of Nagi and happened upon the village the newlyweds now called home. During their observations, they detected Sanguis' Force sensitivity and studied him. Taking an interest in his potential, the Sith invaded their home. Sanguis did everything in his power to protect Elena while they tried to escape. Unfortunately, Sanguis was overwhelmed, and his wife was killed before him. Anger and pain struck his heart, but his rage wasn't enough to fight off his captors as they led him away. Elena's death pushed him closer to the Dark side, just as the Sith intended. |
| | ==== The Bloodlust Experiment ==== |
| | The Sith who had captured Sanguis wasn't just any Sith out for a trophy. She was a sorceress, and Sanguis' Force sensitivity made him a great candidate for an experiment of hers involving Sith alchemy and sorcery. Wanting to create a Sith super warrior driven to shed blood, she and her fellow compatriots performed a ritual. However, a jealous participant subtly altered the process that would unleash a monster. With the ritual having put Sanguis through immense pain physically, mentally, and emotionally, the Nagai had fallen silent once the ritual ended. Thinking she had succeeded, the Sorceress made the mistake of asking an Acolyte to inspect her work. Her advance was only met by Sanguis whirling on her and biting down on her throat. Indeed, he had become a warrior driven by blood lust, but in a more literal sense, no thanks to the one other Sith's sabotage. |
| | ==== The Sith Life ==== |
| | Before Sanguis was allowed to slay more Sith, he was quickly sedated by another Sith who had sensed the disturbance. Hours later, in a cell, Sanguis awoke to find the same Sith studying him. Of course, his new bloodlust drove him to lash out, much to the Sith's amusement, and the cloaked figure had a blood bag given to him. Though his thirst wasn't fully quenched, Sanguis did find his senses returning to him slowly. While realization, fear, and anger gripped the Nagai's heart, the Sith saw promise in the newly created monster. Appealing to Sanguis' emotions, he introduced himself as Darth T'alrinas, and promised Sanguis a chance of revenge should he agree to serve as his apprentice. It would take many days of trying, but eventually, the Dark Lord's attempts proved fruitful. Though Sanguis hated all Sith with a passion for what happened to his wife-to-be, he knew that what T'alrinas had to offer him would help him get the revenge he desired. In return, Sanguis would also be removing a thorn in T'alrinas' side. |
| | ==== Days of Blood and Glory ==== |
| | |
| | Fueled by hate, his bloodlust, and the Dark Side of the Force, Sanguis endured and strengthened under the harsh mentorship of Darth T'alrinas. It would be the slaying of his own master that would bring an end to his apprentice days, and he was a fully-fledged Sith Warrior that no longer had his master to stay his hand. Even so, the Dark Council of the Sith regime chose not to have him destroyed but instead made use of him while they also provided incentives that would keep him from turning on them. Or, so he allowed them to think. He secretly despised the Dark Council but did not move against them as his focus turned to the Sith who had made him into the monster he was now. That, and he chose to play his own mind games with the Dark Council and potential threats. With the help of the hypnotic voice, Nagai was known for, he often enticed weak-minded Sith to their doom, earning himself a supply of blood while also eliminating Sith that were thorns in his side. He relished in the fear that turned to rumors and stories about his bloodlust, which helped keep some Sith at bay. His reputation, while keeping the Dark Council on their toes, also granted him favor when it came to assignments that the council saw him perfectly fit to carry out. |
|
| |
|
| The rescue team boarded Akaata's Kom'rk, and Haro helped navigate them in the direction he last saw the jai'galaar heading. It didn't take too long to find the nest and rescue Jhefi, and they arrived back at the village just as the sun came up.
| |
|
| |
|
| Haro spent a month and a half in the infirmary healing from his wounds, which he hated, as it meant he couldn't train, which felt like torture to him. While he was in the infirmary, Jifo berated him for stealing the detonator, but Haro's father stopped him after a couple of days, saying that he'd already had his punishment. Haro eventually healed from his wounds, but his nose didn't end up completely straight. He also apologized to Jhefi several times, but he still feels bad about it to this day.

| === The Hunt Fiasco ===
| |
| Every year at the settlement, the community held a small-scale Great Hunt, where a team of five Mandos were given three days to hide anywhere they could get to without the use of technology. After the three days were up, five more teams were sent out and given a week to find and bring back the hiding team. Whichever hunting team brought the hiding team back before the seven days were up won the title of Huntmaster within the community for a year, as well as all the credits lost in bets on which team would win. If the hiding team survived the seven days without being found, they were given the credits instead, and won the title Dha-Werda Verd until the next Hunt.
| |
|
| |
|
| In 29 ABY, when that year's Hunt had just begun, and the hunters were bound to set out the next morning, Haro, who was too young to participate but wanted to anyway, hatched a plan. He would sneak out, find the hiders, and bring them back to the village all on his own, gaining a ton of fame in the process. So he packed up some haashun, a few bottles of water, his knife, and an uj cake; and set out to find the hiders.
| |
|
| |
|
| It didn't take long for him to be caught, as Jifo spotted him trying to sneak between houses and brought him back, giving him a stern talking-to all the way to his parents' house. That, however, didn't stop him from trying to sneak out the next night, and the next, until finally, on the fourth day, Jifo wanted to see what he would do, so he left the village. And so, Haro finally set off with the intent of finding the hiders. | | ==== An Unexpected Friend ==== |
| | It would be after one of these assignments that the council awarded the Nagai with a slave to use as he saw fit. A Twi'lek by the name of Linette would come into his possession, but instead of treating her poorly or taking advantage of her, Sanguis actually had compassion for her and promised her protection as long as she helped with the upkeep of his estate. As much as a monster Sanguis was, there was one thing that Sanguis tried to hang onto: honor for women. This was only for a woman who wasn't a threat, and Linette's gentle nature reminded him much of his late fiance. Though Linette had been afraid of him after she learned about his condition, she came to show compassion to him as well and became his one and only friend he could confide in. Her presence seemed to help calm him at times, and he even found the temptation to consume her blood slowly disappear. He had much respect for her and even offered her a chance of freedom which she refused. Their friendship would end up saving Sanguis' life at the cost of her own. |
| | ==== Tragedy Strikes Again ==== |
| | Sanguis' time of glory would be brought to an end when High Republic Jedi would declare war against the band of Sith who had been plaguing worlds with raiding parties and assassinations. During the war, a rival Sith saw an opportunity to finally take out Sanguis in the Caperion System on the world of Seraph. Sanguis, having a fortress as well as a refuge on the planet, was preparing to join the war effort when Darth Silthri attacked with the help of her apprentices and a garrison of soldiers. Caught off guard, Sanguis was wounded in the conflict, though not without taking out the apprentices and some soldiers in the process. Desperate to save her master and friend, Linette activated the inner fortress security system to keep the attackers at bay while she and Sanguis made for the safe house. There, Linette had his wounds treated as best as possible and quickly had the now-drugged Nagai put in the emergency cryotube where he could rest safely against his will. Not long after, a wounded Silthri reached the refuge, and both she and Linette engaged in combat. Armed with a vibroblade gifted to her by Sanguis, Linette faced the Sith without fear. Her devotion and courage resulted in her receiving a saber stab to the abdomen, but not without the Twi'lek landing a blow of her own to the Sith's chest. Her last thoughts were of the Sith she had cared for whole-heartedly, and how she hoped he would one day find the happiness and peace he deserved. |
| | === Awaking to a New Empire === |
| | |
| | Sanguis would be awakened by TRF survivors on Seraph after they stumbled upon him in Cryostasis, only to meet their demise. Emerging into a new era after centuries of cryosleep, Sanguis would discover that a new Empire had made its presence on the world, led by none other than Empress Shadow Nighthunter herself. Seeing her as a wanna-be Empress to take down, he would seek her out, their first interaction resulting in a duel as he attempted to take her out. It resulted in a draw, and the two would engage in battle once more, Shadow having sought him out after seeing him as a threat to her Empire and children. It was during this second battle that the two came to realize how broken they both were, and Shadow ended up sparing him for reasons Sanguis came to admire. Afterward, Sanguis visited Shadow often, engaging her in banter to learn more about her while finding amusement in her witty responses. |
|
| |
|
| Jifo explained the situation to Parun, and they decided to stealthily tail him to find out what he would do. Haro had no idea he was being followed as he traveled across the crystal surface in his search. He quickly ran out of water, then food, and on his second day out, he fell into a pit. By 'sheer chance' as he thought at the time, his dad and uncle were nearby, and they rescued him and brought him back home. He had a couple of injuries from the fall, such as a split lip and bruised knee, but he recovered quickly.
| | ==== A New Beginning ==== |
| | However, to Sanguis' surprise, Shadow offered him a chance to join the clan as her personal bodyguard so she could keep an eye on him with assistance from her friend Feanor. Over time, however, the two would slowly come to realize how much they needed each other and come to care about one another deeply. During a moment of vulnerability, they would confess their love, with the two eventually getting married after Shadow abdicated the Imperial Throne in secret. They would raise Shadow's sons from her previous marriage to the late Brandon Tarsus, and have a child of their own in 40 ABY by the name of Sorin Remus Caldiren. |
|
| |
|
| Instead of learning his lesson, though, he set out again the next night, this time successfully avoiding being seen. He brought more supplies with him, as well as his family's strill, a gray-furred, playful animal by the name of Daven to keep him company and help him out of rough spots. However, shortly after noon that day, he was found by a hunting team who were returning victorious, and they escorted him, red-faced, back to the village.
| | ==== Treason ==== |
| | Unfortunately, Sanguis' nightmare of losing Shadow almost came true after their location of exile was given away to Shadow's enemies. Shadow was kidnapped, but thankfully, she was rescued by a team with minor injuries from torture sessions. Realizing who had given their location away, Sanguis and Shadow would take the twins and relocate to Nagi where Sorin was born. However, they would return to the Brotherhood after an attempt on Shadow's life, the two realizing they couldn't run from her enemies. For a while, they went to Clan Taldryan, but Shadow's heart remained with Scholae Palatinae. So, near the end of 42 ABY, they returned to the clan, starting anew. Instead of a cabin in the woods, they had an estate built in the Arbor Forest on the continent of Seguk on Seraph at the edge of the Kraken Mountains. They would also establish the Wolf's Den, which was a venue for members of the Empire and other guests to enjoy. It was also a chance for Shadow and Sanguis to gain information from gossip and alcohol-loosened tongues. No longer would he and his wife hide from their enemies, but they would inspire fear within them instead. |
|
| |
|
| === Competitive Fighter === | | ==== Serving in Acclivis Draco ==== |
| On his twelfth birthday, Haro was given the choice of joining a large portion of the Mandalorians in the settlement in following the Way of the Mandalore. He refused, however, preferring to join with his family in their beliefs instead of distancing himself from them.
| | In 43 ABY, Sanguis would make his first move to make a name for himself by becoming the Quaestor of House Acclivis Draco. No longer did he want Shadow's reputation as a former Empress serving as the only weight of power to their family. He wanted to add his own power on top as head of the family to put more fear in the hearts of those who would dare attempt to harm his family. |
|
| |
|
| Soon after, Haro began training with more advanced Mandalorian equipment, such as beskar'gam, a jetpack, vambraces, and even a pair of crushgaunts. He took to the crushgaunts quickly, but the rest required more training to acclimate to. He got used to the jetpack's controls after a week, and loved the freedom and ease of movement it gave him. The vambraces took him another week, and the armor took him almost a whole month to get accustomed to.
| | == Personal Information == |
| | |
|
| |
|
| Soon after that, Haro started a fight club among the adiike near his age, in an otherwise unused cave not far from the settlement. In this fight club, he had two randomly selected people from in attendance fight, and the first one to tap out, shed blood, or sustain a moderate injury such as a sprain lost. The other children could bet on who would win with random kebise such as pieces of trinitite, scraps of cloth, and even sometimes actual credits. Haro fought more often than the other children, a fact which was remarked upon several times by the other children but explained away with the fact that he started the club, so he should get the privilege of fighting more.
| | === General Personality === |
| | Sanguis Caldiren is generally to himself observing others (if not plotting) when not spending time with his family, but he isn't afraid to be outgoing and charming when it comes to fellow clan members and talks of business. However, his dark side tends to be cruel, sadistic, and cunning when it comes to his enemies. He's not afraid to put his vampiric affliction to use, giving them a false sense of calm with his hypnotic voice before taking their blood either to weaken them for interrogation, or out of sheer pleasure when that darker half of him takes control. He finds pleasure from the fear of others, often having taken delight in observing Sith novices who heard the rumors and tales about his thirst for blood back in his glory days as a Sith. His past experience in the military as an officer allows him to speak charmingly and confidently when it comes to the press or dealing with politicians. He has a great respect for soldiers as well, often being reminded of his simpler days of honor. |
|
| |
|
| The club ran twice a week for three and a half months before Parun found out and shut it down. In that time, Haro had won almost a hundred credits from the other children. Parun, seeing the disappointment of the children who had been participating in it, instead instated a more legitimate fight club in the village for the children old enough to have their own beskar'gam, but he got rid of the betting, instead creating a points system for wins and losses.
| | When he's alone with Shadow, his softer side comes out, and he'll do whatever it takes to make his wife smile, even if it means getting under her skin just to see her blush. With the kids, he is a loving father, but as they grow older, he doesn't hold back when it comes to their training. Both his time in the military and with the ancient Sith has him pushing his sons hard, and he isn't afraid to discipline Deus when the little scoundrel gets over-confident and tries to be smart. No such disciplinary action is needed for the quieter Artorias, but Sanguis pushes the boy harder to try and bring out the potential that the younger twin struggles to see. Though they are Shadow's sons with her first husband, Sanguis loves the boys as his own, and has sworn a vow to be the best father he can for them. Even if it means honoring Shadow's promise to Tarsus that the boys would be allowed to pick their own path when they are old enough to choose. With Shadow's support, Sanguis plans for Sorin to train not only as a future Sith, but also continue in the military tradition of Sanguis' family with the hopes that one day, Sorin Remus Caldiren would serve the Palatinaean Empire militarily. |
|
| |
|
| When anyone first joined the club, they were given ten points. If they defeated their opponent in a match, they gained a point from their opponent. Everyone had a fair chance to be chosen to fight, and there could be more than one fight happenning at a time. Once, there were even as much as eleven fights happening at once. On the sixteenth birthday, a Mando would be ineligible to fight anymore, and their points would be exchanged for an equivalent amount of credits. | | When it's with close friends of the family, Sanguis is more open, but his mood and attitude change depending on certain individuals. |
|
| |
|
| When Haro reached this milestone, he was awarded two hundred fifteen credits, a record unbroken as of yet. He decided to join the ramikade, and began the specialized training. His best friend Nu'do Galaar trained alongside him, and together, they joined the ranks of the ramikade a year later. They weren't dispatched often, and spent most of their time sparring amongst themselves, until at nineteen years old, Haro decided he wanted something more, and left Manda'yaim for the first time. Nu'do remained on the planet, too content with his current life to leave.
| |
|
| |
|
| His mother flew him to Coruscant, where he began making credits by serving in the planet's military. He rose through the ranks quickly, becoming a commander after his third battle and subsequent victory. After nine months in the military, he met a Zabrak Mandalorian named Juda Graves in a cantina during a break. Juda told him about a large community called the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, which he was a member of, and directed him to Zsoldos. Intrigued, Haro requested leave and, when it was granted, took a shuttle to Zsoldos to investigate this "Clan Vizsla" Juda had told him about. He found the Clan to be better than the Zabrak had described, and sent notice to the Coruscant military that he would be resigning from his position to pursue an alternate career. He then joined Clan Vizsla, quickly falling into place with the credit-focused combat-heavy community.
| | It should also be noted that Sanguis has little loyalty to Scholae Palatinae, but he serves the Empire alongside his wife to ensure their children have a secure future and out of respect for Shadow. Kamjin's betrayal of Shadow left a bitter taste in Sanguis' mouth, and he has very little care or trust for the most recent leaders. Just like any Sith, however, he won't shirk from having some influence in the clan. |

Sanguis Caldiren is a Sith Maurader dating from the Republic era who now serves the Empress of Scholae Palatinae after having awoken from cryo-sleep. Once a soldier of his Nagai homeworld who later was forced into the life of a Sith after being captured and experimented on by the Sith of old, Sanguis is now a Sith married to Shadow Nighthunter and the step-father her sons, Artorias Tarsus and Deus Tarsus. He has also fathered a son with Shadow named Sorin. Due to his past experiences from Sith experimentation with alchemy and sorcery, he struggles with an affliction that Shadow continues to help him to control.
Character History
Birth
Sanguis was born on Kotokai in the Old Republic year 3681 to Nataya and Talmiren Caldiren. Both his parents served in the Nagai military, his mother serving as a combat medic while his force-sensitive father was a Captain in the army. It wasn’t long after his birth that his inherited Force-Sensitivity would be detected by his father.
Early Life
Sanguis grew up in a loving family that upheld the Nagai values of honor.
Madness
Unfortunately, madness would overcome Sanguis’ father one night. Insanity, having him believe that shedding his son's blood would bring his wife back, led the deranged father to attack a terrified Sanguis in bed. Fortunately, Mukuro arrived in time to save the boy. In the scuffle, Sanguis' father was killed by his own hand and blade. The boy, now an orphan, was taken in by his uncle who would continue to raise him.
Early Military Career
As Sanguis grew up, he took interest in his family's military history. Encouraged by his uncle in hopes that a military career would help him overcome the sorrows of his past, Sanguis joined the Nagai military academy. Determined, the young man excelled in his studies and training and graduated from the academy as an officer for the Nagai military. Proud of his accomplishments, Sanguis' uncle held a party for him with help of Sanguis' comrades. Not long after, Sanguis paid a visit to his parents' graves hoping that they were proud of him.
The General's Daughter
Tragedy
The Bloodlust Experiment
The Sith Life
Before Sanguis was allowed to slay more Sith, he was quickly sedated by another Sith who had sensed the disturbance.
Days of Blood and Glory

An Unexpected Friend
Tragedy Strikes Again
Awaking to a New Empire
Sanguis Caldiren and Shadow by Haleviyah on DeviantArt
A New Beginning
Treason
Serving in Acclivis Draco
In 43 ABY, Sanguis would make his first move to make a name for himself by becoming the Quaestor of House Acclivis Draco. No longer did he want Shadow's reputation as a former Empress serving as the only weight of power to their family. He wanted to add his own power on top as head of the family to put more fear in the hearts of those who would dare attempt to harm his family.
Personal Information

General Personality
When it's with close friends of the family, Sanguis is more open, but his mood and attitude change depending on certain individuals.
