History

Youth

Born on the harsh and forbidding world of Iridonia, Kara was no stranger to working hard in order to survive. Even being born into a well-to-do family didn't in any way negate the rigors of life. All Iridonians, Kara included, trained not only for survival, but for their Res Selenoren, a Clan test that they would take before the age of 15.

Kara took her trials at the age of 8, and passed it, gaining the markings she wears today, and a place in her Clan's order. Every Iridonianʼs Clan Trials were different, but usually centered on a comprehension of history, athletics, and survival skills. She excelled at all of them, and was given a choice of her markings. She took the dark violet markings of the nobility from which her family was descended. Also, during her formative years, she was home-schooled, and studied a variety of languages, sciences, and maths.

She enjoyed languages, and learned to speak at least 6 of them fluently. Among those in which she was fluent were: Miralukese, Dromnyr (spoken by the natives of Vulta), Umbarese (spoken by the natives of Umbara), Chalactan (spoken by natives of Chalacta), and Hapan. She also spoke the dialects of Zabraki found on her home world of Iridonia, as well as heavily accented Galactic Basic.

Teen Years

Her teen years were divided between her home world of Iridonia, and the Imperial Academy. She learned various forms of hand-to-hand combat as well as the use of weapons, and vehicles. To further round out her training, she was also given the opportunity to learn some more languages and some engineering skills. Excelling at both, she opted to get her certification as a Robotics engineer, which took her a total of 4 more years. So, by the time she reached the age of 19, she not only had skills in robotics/rocket science, but had also learned 3 new languages: Vong, Huttese, and Wookiee. Little did she know that the knowledge of Vong would come in handy, as she would participate in a war where she would have to defend herself and her clan mates from an attack. The knowledge of Vong would be useful in translating the messages that would be intercepted. The forms of hand-to-hand combat in which she was skilled included, but was not limited to: HIjkata, Echani, and Tae-Jitsu.

Adult Years

After completing her certifications in both robotics and linguistics, she returned to her home world. Upon her return, she found her parents had retired from their professions (her mom was an Archivist for the Office of the Registrar of Vital Statistics, and her father was a Professor of Biochemistry). Both had little about which to worry as their pensions would see them well into old age, and any stocks and bonds they owned would cover the rest.

Kara discussed with them the idea of joining the Dark Jedi to train her abilities in using the Force, a power which she'd noticed she had as a child. They agreed, but cautioned her against the violation of Iridonia's sanctions, an infraction which Khameir Sarin had committed that had given Iridonians a "black eye" as a result.

Reassuring them that this would not be her fate, she joined the Krath and is now a member of House Acclivis Draco of Clan Scholae Palatinae. What she makes of her time there has yet to be revealed but, knowing her, the results should not be any less than stellar.

The Vong War

The Vong war was not an easy time for anyone. Even less so for Zabrak warrior and Krath Priestess Kara Incendia Zor-El. She had watched many of her friends and Clan mates get injured or killed during the all-out bloodshed that ended, but all too late, in a lot of estimations. Homes and families torn apart by the violence of the ordeal, friends and family losing people they loved. The rift the war caused was not just political and societal, it was personal. Too many people made the ultimate sacrifice, and those left behind grieved the loss of those they loved, as well as their own innocence. It looked as though nothing good would come of this war. Nothing good COULD come out of this war. Or, was that untrue? Maybe there was yet some good to come from all this, and all one had to do was look with the eyes of one’s heart.

Certainly, no-one could ignore the destruction and bloodshed, and body-parts scattered all over the place. The dead littered all over like so much used confetti. But, in all this one good thing DID survive. Those who were left, were also left with a renewed hope that the lesson learned would not be too soon forgotten. Not only that, but that they could bond even tighter with the family and friends who survived this holocaust and forge a better life than the one they had. One that would be less likely to suffer from neglect and taking things, people, and yes…even one’s own safety…for granted. For that and complacency were what allowed all this to happen, and for the end to be as violent as it was. They had to learn from the past, all of them, Kara included. For those who do not learn from the past are damned into repeating it. And Kara would be damned into Hell before she’d witness something like this again. Once, for her, was enough!

She saw cemeteries teeming with open graves for the repository of the dead, and orphanages overflowing with children whose families were no more. She should know about the latter. It was how she acquired Khotan and Zharia, her new 8-year-old twins. She and Cethgus had adopted them shortly after the war. Now, everyone was faced with becoming acclimated to new surroundings. The twins were having to become acclimated to having Kara and Cethgus as step-parents and Kara and Cethgus were having to become acclimated to having a full house. Not that said full house was bad. Absolutely not! Kara enjoyed it. Even her pets seemed to take an interest in the new arrivals, and spent time sniffing over them and their belongings in an attempt to find out who the new arrivals were. Lolli was first, followed by Otto, Qellan, Ebon, and not to be outdone, Cinnamon. Having found out who the new arrivals were, they were instantly accepted, and have since gotten the standard wake-up call: the pets running into their room to pounce on them and lick them to wake them up. Yes, things were certainly going to be a challenge but, as Kara saw, it was going to be a happy and enjoyable one.

Dark Jedi Brotherhood Facts

Having since participated in the Great Jedi War, she came away with quite a few medals to show for her efforts. She now looks forward to being active and helping her Clan and House mates.

Other Facts

Kara holds the position of Eclectic Pedagogue of Krath Core Studies in the Shadow Academy, as well as a Tetrarch for House Acclivis Dracoʼs Battle Team, Ebon Cloak. She is also a member of the Galactic Empire, where she is presently an Ensign in the Navy. As a Zabrak can't be all work and no play, she also owns a few pets. She has a pet Lytton (a female, named Lolli) and two pet cinnabears (a male, Qellan; and a female, Cinnamon). They are all quite playful and tame, unless their owner is threatened. Her husband, Cethgus, also has adopted a pet, a male Lytton, named Ebon.
