"War is not merely our path to glory; it is the very essence of our existence. In the crucible of battle, we find our true selves and honor the legacy of our ancestors."
―Mandalore Fero

Clan Fero is a Mandalorian clan and rival to Clan Vizsla

Introduction

As Clan Vizsla expanded further into Wild Space, tensions escalated with an old enemy, Clan Fero. Led by the formidable Mandalore Fero, Clan Fero clashed with a splinter faction of Clan Vizsla commanded by the mercenary Ikarri Itinen. Having held territory within the Unknown Regions, Clan Fero sought to claim the leadership of Clan Vizsla and incorporate them into their ranks.

The conflict erupted in 42 ABY when Mandalore Fero challenged Itinen’s claim to leadership. Once the challenge was set, Fero began actively targeting members of Clan Vizsla. Clan Fero's warriors, along with their war droids, engaged in brutal skirmishes with Vizsla’s mercenaries and Mandalorian forces.

As the skirmishing intensified, each clan strove to accomplish its goals. The clash between Mandalore Fero's traditionalist fervor and the newly elected Vizsla Consul's lack of true Mandalorian values sets the stage for continued conflict between the two factions.

History

Clan Fero was established shortly before the Clone Wars, emerging as a significant faction within Mandalorian culture. Discontent with the pacifist stance of the New Mandalorians under the current Mandalore, Clan Fero chose a divergent path. They believed the essence of Mandalorian heritage was deeply rooted in warfare and conquest, viewing these as sacred rites that defined their identity and purpose.

Driven by this conviction, Clan Fero departed from Mandalorian space, venturing into the uncharted territories of the Unknown Regions. Here, they sought to revive the ancient traditions of Mandalorian warriors, renowned for their formidable prowess in battle and uncompromising warrior ethos. For them, war was an arena to demonstrate their valor and skill, proving their worth in life and securing eternal glory through recognition of their deeds.

Clan Fero's members embraced a lifestyle centered around martial discipline, rigorous combat training, and the pursuit of honor through conflict. Their fanatic dedication led them to veer from traditional Mandalorian practices, embracing any means necessary for victory, including the use of war droids.

They waged relentless campaigns against any adversaries, often engaging in brutal and decisive battles. To them, each skirmish and conquest was a testament to their strength and a tribute to their ancestors, who built the Mandalorian legacy on war and dominance. Their actions in the Unknown Regions.

Leadership

Clan Fero is organized into a traditional Mandalorian state. At the top is Mandalore Fero. It is more a title than a person. He claims to be the sole ruler of all Mandalorians, even those who do not belong to Clan Fero. His true identity is known to those outside the clan though the current Mandalor Fero is not the original that broke away from the New Mandalorians.

He is assisted by the Iron Council, the top ranking, and most decorated warriors in the clan outside Mandalor himself. These elite warriors are both the advisors to their leader as well the generals that keep the war machine burning brightly. Each has been given a Basilisk War Droid and Beskar armor. Both are symbols of their status in the clan and their abilities as warriors.

Everyone inside Clan Fero is a warrior including the women and children old enough to fight. As such no one is immune from the fighting. This bolsters Fero’s numbers on the field of battle and means that surrender is not an option for their citizens. It is better to die in battle than be captured by the enemy. Defectors are few, those that survive trying to leave the clan are even fewer.

Notable Members

Mandalore Fero

Appearance: Mandalore Fero stands at an imposing 6’2” with a broad, muscular build. Rumored to be human, his face and features remain hidden from view, making his exact appearance a mystery. His Beskar armor is painted matte black from head to toe, with a matte black jumpsuit underneath. Subtle etchings in Mando’a on his armor tell the stories of his battles and the honor he has achieved.

Personality: A strict adherent to the Resol’nare, Fero is all business all the time. Stoic and deliberate are the best ways to describe his personality. He rarely shows emotion in his speech or actions and is focused on the battle regardless of the outcome. In his mind, the battle is the prize, not winning or losing. He values practical wisdom and tactics over theories and hypotheticals.

Equipment: In battle, he wears his telltale matte black Beskar armor. Dual WESTAR-35 blaster pistols rest holstered on his thighs, while a serrated Beskad hangs across his back. He wears two Beskar gauntlets, each housing a flamethrower; the right gauntlet is equipped with a grappling hook and whistling birds, while the left has an attached repulsor. He rides a Basilisk war droid painted the same matte black as his armor.

The Iron Knights

The Iron Knights are a group of six warriors who serve as bodyguards and elite troops for Clan Fero. Each one of them answers directly to Mandalore Fero. To become an Iron Knight, one must prove their fighting prowess through a dangerous mission known as a quest. This mission often holds both practical and symbolic importance to Clan Fero and can involve activities such as leading a vanguard against a foe or recovering valuable material like Beskar.

Each Knight is outfitted in custom Beskar armor and granted a Beskar melee weapon of their choice. They are proficient in mounted combat and excel at fighting from the back of Basilisk war droids, speeder bikes, or on the ground. The list of known Iron Knights follows below.

Agravain

Agravain is a strict and aloof warrior who speaks in an efficient manner, using only the words necessary to convey information. He views time as a limited resource and detests wasting the time of others or having his own time wasted. Agravain excels at information gathering and is a master slicer, torturer, and investigator. His preferred weapons are dual WESTAR-35 blaster pistols, a collapsible shield made of Beskar that rests on his left arm, and a Beskar Beskad sheathed on his left hip. Of the six Knights, he is the least competent in direct combat but is still capable of holding his own, with combat skills comparable to an Equite.

Jaro

A veteran of many conflicts that have left their share of scars, Jaro lost his right arm in combat with an enemy Force user but had the resolve to slay his foe before collapsing. His right arm is now a custom prosthetic made of Beskar, engraved with the kyber crystal taken from his foe. Jaro wields a collapsible Beskar spear, two Beskar Beskads, and a custom Mandalorian vambrace built into his prosthetic arm.

Garen

The Shield of Mandalore, Garen is a defensive specialist in both equipment and tactics. He is capable of keeping a much larger force at bay with a small military unit, as long as he has a stationary position to garrison. He has built mighty fortresses for Fero, where the Knights reside alongside their forces. Galahad carries a custom massive Beskar tower shield capable of protecting him and nearby allies. He also carries a Beskar spear and a Beskad. Notably, he does not use ranged weapons; instead, he carries a variety of shield generators to enable his survival as he closes in for melee combat.

Kall Morg

He is the muscle of the Knights, known for his immense strength and toughness in battle. He carries a Beskar gravity hammer and wears a custom set of Beskar armor to fit his larger frame.
