Troutrooper is an easy-going, laid-back fish. Getting crotchety in his old age, but, oddly for a Dark Sider, prefers to be happy over angry.

Troutrooper has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of espionage. Surveillance and reconnaissance, assassination, information extraction (interrogation and torture), information analysis and interpretation, cryptography, information security, etc. His studies in the Force are based upon his former spying practices.

As a former House Aleema summit member, Troutrooper is skilled in illusion-related Force Powers. Although a former Tarentae and current Arconan, he does not know or practice either Necromancy nor Shadow Crafting. The latter would be beneficial to the aged agent, yet some fish are too old for new tricks.

Troutrooper is a practitioner of Trakata, the "killing form". When Trakata is impractical or ill-advised, he relies on Soresu.

He is a skilled pilot, commended many times for his flying renown. He owns a Missile Boat and, for outings requiring more subtlety, a Mu-class Model 2 shuttle.

The name "Troutrooper" is a portmanteau of 'Trout' and 'Trooper'. The latter comes from Davin Felth, a stormtrooper in Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina, with whom he shares his first name. The former comes from a former coworker's desk ornament, from which he took a server username ("You need a login." "How about 'stormtrooper'?" "Taken." "Crap. How about...er...ummm...Trout!" "Done.")
