Evant Taelyan is currently serving House Tridens of Clan Tarentum.

Character History

Evant Taelyan is a human male, born on the hot and stormy capital of the Corporate Sector, Etti IV.

Early Childhood

His father worked at Cybot Galactica, one of the largest droid manufacturing companies in the galaxy, while his mother stayed at home to take care of Evant and his two sisters, Alma and Tifa. Growing up in the middle class meant a good education, and no troubles financially. The first 10 years of his life were rather routine as he achieved passing but not overly significant marks in his classes. However at the age of 14, his social circles began to expand to people with more connections on the planet, which presented new opportunities for success beyond what routine education provided.

Van Slice Team

During the eleventh year of his education, at age 14, Evant befriended and joined a group of slicers. The Van Slice Team as they called himself, who took it upon themselves to practice and learn slicing as an extracurricular. The planet was a haven for underground crime, given the sheer volume of credits moving through the planet on the holonet. Two years into his membership on the team, Evant had become a formidable slicer himself, gaining access to information on the greater activities of the galaxy. With the death of Emperor Palpatine at an age of only 4 years old, Evant grew up without knowing the true influence of the Empire, as constant news passed to his family through the New Republic of their triumphs against the Empire and the retaking of Coruscant. With his slicing efforts, he began to gain access to a vast wealth of knowledge about the powerful Galactic Empire of the past. It was his fascination with this information, that led him to abandon his future studies at the local academy and go in search of more information.

He conspired with the Van Slice Team for nearly two years, preaching to them his feelings on the views of the Empire. Growing up in such a chaotic and crime ridden planet, the ideas of security and continuing stability the Empire offered were appealing. After making a few connections with the Commander of a Squadron within the Emperor's Hammer Navy, Evant decided to take one last job on Etti IV and head off to the Imperial Weapons and Tactics School. He and six members of his team sliced access to a docking bay at Cybot Galactica, stole an unarmed transport freighter designed to move personnel between offices and left Etti IV. Evant has not been back to this planet since.

Emperor's Hammer Imperial Intelligence Division

Upon immediate arrival at Platform Daedalus, where the Empire trained it's pilots, he began his service to the Empire. During his initial placement testing however, Evant showed incredible skills in slicing and information gathering. Because of this he was approached by a silent Agent of the Empire, who sent him to the Frigate Stormwind to train in the Intelligence Division. Due to his skills and a high demand for officers, Evant found himself quickly elevated the Bureau Director of the Analysis Division. His work there was well received, and he was awarded his own personal and highly modified Lambda-class T-4a shuttle Redemption. Following the failure of a member of the Ubiqtorate, Evant found himself elevated to Rear Admiral in the position of Bureau Liaison Director and head of all four branches of intelligences daily activities.

The Dark Side

Upon his first steps onto Platform Daedalus, on his first days joining the Emperor's Hammer, he was approached not only by an Agent of the Empire but by a dark enchanting Krath Archpriest named Kartena. She had felt his presence on the platform while on business in the system on behalf of the Krath Order.

Through his entire training in the Intelligence Division, Evant maintained constant contact with the dark sorceress and fell deeply in love with her. The pair made constant contact and frequently held secret trainings in the Dark Side. As Evant rose in responsibility and power in the Intelligence Division, partly fueled by his desires for the deeper secrets of the Emperor's Hammer obtained by being a member of the Ubiqtorate due to his Krath teachings, he found less time to maintain secret meetings. Eventually the pair openly declared a dark union in marriage.

Shortly after their declaration, a powerful a Jedi Master named Vison, who had been in search of Kartena since her own fall from the Jedi Order to join the Krath was thrown into a jealous rage. He had coveted the Archpriest as his own and immediately set out to destroy Evant along with several Jedi under his command. He searched for many months with no luck, as Evant's position on the Ubiqtorate of the Imperial Intelligence Division kept him well hidden. Kartena placed a trap on a backwater planet of the Outer Rim, in an attempt to destroy him to protect her relationship and Visor followed the first lead he had in months eagerly. Once on the planet a small battle erupted between the Dark Jedi accompanying Kartena and the Jedi with Vison. During the ensuing fight one of the Jedi struck down Kartena. Visor felt an immense loss, and fell deep to the Dark Side, destroying the remaining Krath and all of the Jedi followers with him and set off to find Evant.

Using his place on the Ubiqtorate Evant lured the Dark Jedi Master onboard the Lictor-class dungeon ship Lictor V, used by the Intelligence Division to imprison Jedi Knights. The Jedi Master was in such a rage, he had no realization of the venue in which he now placed his battle. Evant lured the enraged Jedi on a chase throughout the ship, and eventually trapped him in a cell. All records of what happened in that cell are wiped from Imperial records, however those who were on board the ship at the time claim it was one of the most terrible torturing cases they had ever witnessed.

Evant was truly devastated at his loss. He lost all ambition and passion for life and abandoned his Dark Side studies. He had shortly after purposefully leaked to the Republic information on Intelligence Agents within their ranks resulting in the deaths of many and a major setback for the Empire. He had gone into hiding on the planet of Tatooine after realizing the crime for his treason was death.

Return to the Imperial Navy

While on Tatooine, Evant occupied his time by connecting with local smuggles and tradesman under an alias he created for himself. His Imperial training and history with computer systems allowed him to busy himself repairing and modifying computer systems onboard smuggler craft. With no shortage of smuggles in need of advanced systems capable of evading the Empire of which Evant knew so much, he had no trouble making money.

Two years into this however, a Squadron Commander from the Emperor's Hammer onboard the ISD Immortal made an emergency landing on Tatooine and went down to the planet in search of someone to make repairs to the computer system onboard his Gunboat. Two days later Evant found himself back onboard Platform Daedalus. While the commander pulled many strings to get Evant onboard the Immortal as a pilot, he saw his skills as useful and took sympathy in hearing of his past. The Emperor's Hammer put massive restrictions upon Evant's career but allowed him to fly.

Six months of successful tours on the Immortal and Evant was approached by the Wing Commander of Wing V on board the SSSD Sovereign to command a squadron, short on Officers and knowing he had some history of leadership on the Ubiqtorate. Once again using some favors, Evant found himself the Commander of Sadhe Squadron. After an extremely successful tenure as commander there, his loyalty to his prior ship, the ISD Immortal, drew him back home as a pilot in Vampire Squadron. Several successful months there and an opening came to allow him to command a squadron on his home ship. He took the reigns as the Commander of Phantom Squadron, the elite squadron onboard the ISD Immortal, and arguably one of the last few great squadrons in the entire Battlegroups. He led his squadron to some amazing success and victory.

The Exodus between the Emperor's Hammer and the Dark Brotherhood filtered down through all branches of the Empire. Even onboard the ISD Immortal tensions rose as great friends were quickly becoming harsh enemies. At this same time Evant got word that the last remnants of the Empire had signed peace treaties with the New Republic and ended all legalized conflict. With his own agenda outgrowing that of his superior officers, feelings of discontent and betrayal lingered on the edges of his mind. Deep concentration and focus filled most of his last days onboard the ISD Immortal, as he mentally began to separate himself from his pilots. One morning during the year of 19 ABY, Evant simply boarded his Shuttle Redemption and left the service of the Imperial Navy.

Time Apart

He piloted his shuttle to the Empress Teta System, and made home in the city of Cinnagar. Knowing that the planet had once been ruled by the Krath Order, Evant had hoped to gain great knowledge there. While never actively seeking training in the Dark Side, his heart avoided it due to the pains he still held. Evant once again took on his skills at fashioning modifications and repairs to computer systems to earn a living on the highly urbanized planet.

Nine years after arriving, Evant discovered documentation reguarding Kartena's trap to destroy Vison. He visited the backwater planet and the place of the battle, untouched for many years since it occurred. He found her skeletal remains and removed the enchanted necklace upon her neck. When he placed it on he could feel her soul within it, and his own soul reconnected with the Dark Side. He once again had a thirst for knowledge he had not had since his early days as an apprentice to the the Krath Archpriest Kartena.

Clan Tarentum

Evant immediately boarded his shuttle and headed for the Onderon Campus of the Shadow Academy, to join the official ranks of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood Kartena had once belonged to. His knowledge of the force flowed back to him quickly since he discovered Kartena's amulet. He was not on the campus of the academy for more than a day before heading to Yridia II to Castle Tarentum to join Clan Tarentum in House Tridens as a Sith with the master he had received there, Derev Niroth.

The Clan was in a fierce war, and the academy was nearly empty as all resources were devoted to it as Evant passed through it's halls. Upon arrival at the castle Evant dove immediately into Dark Brotherhood history. He began to develop deep loyalty to his brothers as they returned from the Seventh Great Jedi War, and learned of the loss of Antei and the Shadow Academy grounds he set foot on not more than a few days prior.

Evant had quickly grown to the rank of Acolyte, when his master left him for Clan Plagueis to refill the war torn ranks there. Evant, desperate for a deeper knowledge of the force, approached the newly promoted Dark Side Adept Troutrooper. The Elder Dark Jedi recognized his passion for knowledge and took him on as his apprentice. His first few hours of teachings with Trout had elevated Evant back to his prior levels of understanding of the Dark Side, to the ranks of Jedi Hunter within an incredibly short period of time.
