History
Pirate Leader
Of the numerous scum and crime syndicates that inhabit the vast galaxy one of the least known are the Crimson Tide, a savage group of cutthroats that ravaged the Antei system long before the Imperial Empire came into being. It’s origins date back to the crimson dynasty, a small and successful empire in its own right. One of the airs to the thrown, an arrogant and hated prince became disowned. This resulted in one of the bloodiest civil wars of the regions history. It ended in the collapse of the Crimson dynasty and instead led to the birth of a nomadic and violent organisation that were forced into piracy.

The reality of today is that the Crimson line died out many years ago with each successive leader assuming the name of Crimson. To be a member of the infamous Crimson Tide is to invite a life of bloodshed with the leadership being continually challenged by his or her subordinates. Of all the leaders that have served argueably the most successful has been Calliban Crimson.

Calliban has so far been the longest serving leader of the Crimson Tide and he has also proven to be the most bloodthirsty. Where many previous Crimsons had opted for stealing out of necessity and never to intentionally harm the victims, Calliban has used nothing short of barbaric savagery in all his raids. There are few survivors from a Crimson raid with those that do somehow escape a torturous death are often sold to slavery. In the latter part of the Imperial Empire, an Imperial Star Destroyer Graur was dispatched to hunt down and eliminate the pirate.

Calliban is a humourless and savage rogue, often seen wearing a patchwork of equipment and armour ‘liberated’ from his victims. He continues to maintain the Crimson name and even claims to be a direct descendent. His manners and language betray any trace of heritage to the Crimson line and has a strong ego and arrogant persona. In one recorded incident he actually beat an Imperial Commando to death with his own helmet.

To be a member of this volatile and dangerous group is to invite death on a daily basis, through blood and savagery it has become a breeding ground for highly motivated and deadly soliders and pilots. Though lacking any real sense of tactics and finesse they make up for with skill and brutality.
Little is known of the early life of Calliban Crimson. The act that gained him control of the Crimson Tide perhaps best summarizes his character and approach to existence in general. Calliban Crimson killed his sister in order to seize control of the Crimson Tide and transform it into a para-military organization bent upon conquest and subjugation. He had built an army unbeknownst to her and seized control of the Crimson Tide organization in 14 ABY. Following the murder of his sister and assumption of power Crimson Calliban put to death any and all who even looked askance at him for the means he chose to seize control of the organization.

The mysterious figures reason and Calliban's reward remain unknown but the Crimson Tide's aggression toward Clan Plagueis (successor of Clan Satal Keto) remains a fact even though the first and second and third engagements have gone to Clan Plagueis.

After his lost at destroying Exar Kun as the dark jedi tried to escape Byfrost, Calliban knew he had to retreat and regroup. Not only was he growing old and tired, but also his number of loyal troops was growing smaller by the day. While he was never smart enough to beat Exar Kun, he was smart enough to know he had to find more troops. Secretly, he formed an alliance with General Kraul and found himself with plenty of armor, fighters, troops, and a Super Star Destroyer. He also formed alliances with Nemo Dupar, Semyon Cain, and Ravian Pulastra, and decided he finally had the men he would need to lead his attack against Clan Plagueis.
Calliban reorganized the Crimson Tide and recruited a variety of beings to assist his megalomania. Jonah Kraul - a general made Admiral from the days of the Galactic Empire; Ravian Pulastra - a former First Sergeant of the New Republic Army; Nemo Dupar and Semyon Cain - Rogue Jedi; a diverse group joined for a common purpose - the destruction of Clan Plagueis. These members joined the likes of the brilliant Dr. Fenson Ryburn and the relentless Alonzo Bodelle.

He thought himself with more troops when he got word that Alonzo was coming back with a group of pirates, but when he arrived, all he had was the blueprints to the Plagueis temple. While he really would have liked more troops, he didn't decline the layout. He declared that they would attack all of Plagueis, and destroy Exar Kun in the process. With over five hundred troops, armor, fighters, a jedi, and generals worth his while, he truly thought this would be the end of Plagueis. As stated before though, he wasn't smart when it came to battle.
Calliban Crimson hopes that the assemblage of such talent will counter what those in his employ dare not speak. That is, Calliban Crimson, though possessing the necessary audacity and ruthlessness to succeed, lack the fundamental skills to ever amount to much more than a generic thug. The group of beings he has assembled, hopes Calliban, will more than cover for his ineptitude and excesses.

*Distinguishing marks: Crimson has a biomechanical right-arm and leg. During one of his first boarding parties in the early years, Crimson found himself seriously wounded and was almost left for dead. A smart scientist on his payroll kept him alive and replaced the lost limbs with artificial replacements. This 'doctor' became his "left hand", next to his "right hand" Alonzo Bodelle.<BR>
*Calliban Crimson has a biomechanical right arm and right leg. He was severely wounded in a boarding action early in his career. The medical prowess of Dr. Fenson Ryburn saved his life.
*Character information: Although no man should ever trust the captain, he himself relies heavily on the concept of trust. The doctor and Bodelle are his closest companions and he tells them everything, perhaps more than he should. Crimson became furious when he first heard that his enemy captured his loyal lieutenant. Unknown is the connection between him and General Kraul. Some kind of alliance is expected based upon the fact that the pirates on Eden wore the equipment of Stormtroopers.
*Despite his own penchant for betrayal and treachery, Calliban Crimson relies upon the loyalty of his staff and underlings. Surprisingly, or perhaps not so given his many reprisals and cleansings, Calliban Crimson has few safeguards in place against betrayal and trusts those in his charge.
*Calliban Crimson's mood can change in an instant. One moment he could appear jolly and the next he could burst into a killing rage. Whether this is a function of his insecurity or his ineptness is unknown. What is known, however, is that whatever joy he takes from his existence will be at the expense of others and leave a wake of misery.

Calliban Crimson is the leader of the Crimson Tide, an organization that has attacked Clan Plagueis several times. His role as commander of the Crimson Tide made him a threat to Clan Plagueis, who had placed a fifty thousand credit (50,000 cr) bounty on his head. Following his death in the War of Ascension at the hands of Vivackus Kavon, Crimson and his Tide were finally destroyed.

History

Little is known of the early life of Calliban Crimson. The act that gained him control of the Crimson Tide perhaps best summarizes his character and approach to existence in general. Calliban Crimson killed his sister in order to seize control of the Crimson Tide and transform it into a para-military organization bent upon conquest and subjugation. He had built an army unbeknownst to her and seized control of the Crimson Tide organization in 14 ABY. Following the murder of his sister and assumption of power Crimson Calliban put to death any and all who even looked askance at him for the means he chose to seize control of the organization.

After his treacherous rise to power, Calliban Crimson accepted the commission from an unknown figure to wage war and destroy the former Clan Satal Keto of the Dark Brotherhood. The mysterious figures reason and Calliban's reward remain unknown but the Crimson Tide's aggression toward Clan Plagueis (successor of Clan Satal Keto) remains a fact even though the first and second and third engagements have gone to Clan Plagueis.
