Sigma Group is an elite transport unit of the Ascendant Fleet assigned to serve the summit of Clan Plagueis and its two houses. The unit operates both Upsilon-class command shuttles and Delta-class T-3c shuttles and is divided into three shuttle squadrons, each assigned to serve a different subset of the Clan's leadership.
History
A Delta-class shuttle assigned to Sigma Group Following the restructuring of the Ascendant Fleet in 35 ABY the leadership of Clan Plagueis and the command staff of the fleet decided that there should be a dedicated transport unit assigned to the summit of the Clan and Houses. In the past, with Plagueis mostly existing as a space-based unit, having shuttles assigned to the various capital ships at the command of the leadership made logistical sense. However, the arrival on Aliso and the separation of Plagueis from the Ascendant Fleet created the need for a new, independent unit.
Admiral Cyvaria Ranin formed Sigma Group to address this need and selected Commander Ran Tellar to lead the unit. He was tasked with selecting the best pilots from within the fleet to staff the new unit and training them on their new equipment, the recently acquired Upsilon and Delta class shuttles. The unit reached operational status shortly after the ascension of Selika Roh to the position of Dread Lord.
Organization
Sigma Group is divided into three different units, each serving the summit of Plagueis, Ajunta Pall, and Karness Muur. Tau Squadron operates the four Upsilon-class command shuttles and is assigned to the Clan Plagueis summit. These shuttles are ostensibly assigned aboard Ascendancy, but can often times be found operating independently from that vessel. Mu and Rho squadrons each operate four Delta-class shuttles and are assigned to House Ventress and House Tyranus respectively, and like their Tau Squadron counterparts are officially attached to each clan's flagship but are often found engaging in independent, detached operations.
