Tarthos could be described as two planets; one hot, one cold. Though within the pull of Orian Major it is still too far away to support life fully and relies heavily on Orian Minor for extra sunlight. For most of the year Tarthos is stuck in bitter winter; its seasons are erratic and depend largely on its proximity to the lesser star. It experiences a rather unique ecology and, despite the cold weather, supports more life than most planets of similar temperatures. Being so far out from Sepros it was never colonised as intensively as Aeotheran during the days of the Sith Empire but still sports a few lone installations.
A few of the surviving temples were taken by the clan and converted to store much of the supplies and artefacts recovered from the Phare system following the Great Exodus. The Dlarit Security Force is based on Tarthos and the planet houses both headquarters for high command as well as garrisons for the regular troops and marines. There are various small training outposts across the planet.
Towering above the main DSF base is the Ragnos Cathedral from where the governor of Tarthos, also the quaestor of House Marka Ragnos, runs the clan's operations on the planet.
