The Light Side Path is undertaken by those Jedi within, and sometimes outside of, the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Its followers believe that true power comes from submitting oneself to the will of the Force, and working to maintain its natural balance. They oppose the Dark Side Path's adherents, channeling the Force through extensive practice and calmness of mind while abstaining from emotional dependence and the pursuit of personal power.
The Jedi Order
The Jedi of the Brotherhood, and several members of both the Old and New Order, divide themselves into three sub-groups, each focused on a particular aspect or calling of the Jedi way. Each of these Orders is vitally important, and all three work together; while all Jedi know the basics of operating within each Order, a member of a specific Order may specialize further in their chosen path, allowing the House to remain diverse in its opposition to the Brotherhood.

Order of the Consular
Main article: Consular
Healers, diplomats, and sages of the Force, Jedi Consulars dedicate their study to the Force's deeper meanings and motivations. Typically the more diplomatic and supportive Jedi, they prefer negotiation to fighting, but are important support personnel on the battlefield as well. Delving into ancient ruins, studying tomes and scrolls, or facing Force-related threats and mysteries, they meditate on the will of the Force and follow it to thwart the Dark Side.
Philosophies of the Jedi
Though each Jedi has their own beliefs and cultural takes on the Force, they are often united under the banner of commonly-held beliefs on the Force's true nature. These philosophies guide a Jedi in his decisions and choices, shaping his path as he fights for freedom and justice. Generally speaking, these differ between two specific paths - the Unifying Force, and the Living Force.
Accepted throughout the ages by a vast number of Jedi, the Living Force is thought to be present in most living beings, surrounding and connecting them. The Jedi who follow this belief rely on their instincts and are attuned to those around them. Although mindful of the future, the Jedi of the Living Force follow the philosophy of "living in the moment". Thus, they generally focus on the here and now and concentrate more on sensitivity to living things, rather than fulfilling destiny.Such is one of the main tenets of the Unifying Force philosophy.
Unlike the Unifying Force ideal, the Living Force is viewed as having both the light and the dark side. The Jedi always had to be mindful of their actions to avoid the temptations of the dark side. Through following the Living Force, several Jedi were able to retain their identities after their physical death, becoming one with the Force and able to manifest themselves as Force ghosts.
Notable Followers of the Living Force
- Yoda was very traditional when it came to the Jedi Code, but insisted that Jedi be mindful of the "here and now."
- Qui-Gon Jinn was considered a 'Gray Jedi' by most, but preferred the views of the Living Force.
The Unifying is a concept that does not often gain much support within Jedi Orders; more support is generally given to the concept of The Living Force. The Concept of the Unifying force is that there is neither a Light nor a Dark side to the force, The Unifying force is deified and the belief that Force-users were chosen is null and instead; everyone is treated equally.
Those who follow the Unifying force would spend a lot of their time watching for future possibilities. However this could end up(and for the most part, did) with the Jedi believer trying to fulfill some form of destiny, rather than be focused and present in the now.
Visions of the future are very significant to those who follow the belief of the Unifying force as they gave insight into the future, therefore many supporters would heed their visions; Many Jedi saw the flow of time as a whole, ignoring the primary use of the Living force entirely.
Belief in the Unifying force has different views by its believers; the most common two are that The Force is a means to end, whilst the other is that the Force is the end itself.
Notable Followers of the Unifying Force
Obi-Wan Kenobi also believed in Unifying Force, as seen with his Belief in "The Prophecy."
