Ararin Korin was the envied husband of Twi’lek Archpriestess Impetus M'Nar, and was an excellent marksman, entrusted with serving the Order of the Dragon as a support soldier. The half twi’lek half Human was one of the only non force users alive to possess a Sapphire Blade, before he followed Impetus to his death in 28 ABY.
History
Early Life
Ararin was born to a Yellow-Skinned Human father and a twi’lek mother in 7 ABY on the remote and somewhat primitive planet of Zelda. Zelda was a world of lush green grasslands, most of the people were farmers or nerf herders.
Ararin had a respectable family. His mother owned a successful clothing business. He benefited from private tutoring on Zelda, and had an incredibly strong mathematical brain. While his life was prosperous, he found no challenge in it, there was nothing to strive for.
Destined for Greater Things
At the age of 14 he left home to seek out a higher purpose in life. His search led him to a group of smugglers led by a pure breed twi’lek with only one lek named Zena'kunn Nao'ib, a Dark Jedi, who adopted him as a son. With the help of the group of smugglers he quickly picked up marksmanship, and tried to learn the ways of the Dark Side, but to his dismay he discovered that he was not Force sensitive, but he was still clearly the best marksman in the group, despite not having any real training.
After a pit of practice honing his skills with the rifle, Ararin had become deadly accurate, and in the routine training regime of shooting small birds in the Zelda sky, her barely missed a shot. While he carried slight skill with a blade, his superior skill was clearly his marksmanship, and his bladework barely received any attention.
Chaos from Nothing
‘’The following occurred in an RPG hosted by DJM Arania.’’
He trained with the group of smugglers for 6 more years, up until he was 20, before they were paid a visit by a very odd group of Dark Jedi, consisting of a Wookiee, a zabrak, a twi’lek, a neti and a Human. He immediately noticed that the yellow skinned twi’lek was especially attractive.
What started as a peaceful barbecue in an abandoned cave turned into a riot as the Wookiee got drunk and punched someone in the face. Ararin and his Foster Father immediately took the side of the new group, realizing they all had lightsabers, and turned on their former group. Ararin himself took down 3 of them with his sniper rifle.
While he didn’t understand what happened next, him and the 5 Dark Jedi ended up fighting a battalion of battle droids. He kept a special eye on the twi’lek, awestruck as she turned feline and tried to tear a droid to shreds.
As he had kept moving around as a smuggler, Ararin didn’t have much contact with women, and had never been in love, but he had set his sights for the first time on the beautiful warrior in front of him.
Spontaneous Love
In another strange event, after the droids were killed, a fight in which Ararin killed 3, their group was visited again by 6 Dark Jedi, who didn’t seem to be friends of the ones he was with. He had picked that the twi’lek’s name was Impetus in a brief discussion before another fight broke out.
Ararin killed three of the Dark Jedi with his sniper rifle, and the Wookiee killed another two. 5 of them were killed, leaving clearly the most powerful remaining. As Impetus rushed into combat with her whip, she was flown back by the Force, landing straddled across Ararin’s waist. She made a comment about ‘having the wrong whip for this’ before helping him back to his feet.
Ararin made to run towards the Dark Jedi for a good shot with his sniper rifle, but was pulled back by something. He looked round to see that Impetus hadn’t let go of his hand, and was eyeing him admirably. They kissed as the rest of the group were too busy fighting the last attacker to notice.
The remaining Dark Jedi was driven off, and Impetus took Ararin back to the Acclivis homeworld of Antenora with the Wookiee and the Neti in the group. The Zabrak took Zena’kunn Nao’ib back to a different planet in the same system.
Neither Impetus or Ararin were ever seen without each other as he tried to get to grips with the workings of his new home, Acclivis Draco. His skill with a sniper rifle was unmatched in Acclivis Draco, and he was invited to join Impetus in the Quaestor’s personal guard, the Order of the Dragon.
Title coming soon
Serving along side each other in the Order of the Dragon, their mutual love continued to build, the pair enjoyed the relationship until the RoS, up to about 4 months together without any arguments or strife.
Impetus was one of the nicest people Ararin had met. Constantly serene, calm and happy, her attitudes seemed to affect everyone around her. After settling in in House Acclivis Draco, he decided it was the best move he had ever made to accept Impetus’ request to join her. There was one thing that intrigued him about Impetus, and that was her own city in Ryloth called Siordan'a. Impetus had plans to return there, as a holiday, and an opportunity to show Ararin where she came from.
In the weeks preceding the Seventh Great Jedi War, preparations began on Siordan’a as they prepared for the week-long return of Impetus and Ararin. While there, there seemed no better time or place for the two to marry. The ceremony passed much the same way their relationship did, and had the newly married pair not had to return for the RoS award Ceremony, they would have happily stayed in Siordan’a for a long time.
Broken Bliss
Their peaceful time on Siordan’a was a clear contrast to what the couple faced upon their return to Scholae Palatinae. What started as a friendly award ceremony broke into full scale war as the Yuuzhan Vong chose that exact moment to strike at the core of the brotherhood in what was to become the Seventh Great Jedi War.
Scholae Palatinae retreated on board the Excidium, closely followed by the alien forces, the ship was boarded and ambushed from inside and out. The Korins never left each other’s side for the entire ordeal, supporting each other throughout, and spilled their fair share of alien blood between them.
By this time, Impetus and Ararin’s relationship had reashed the point at which they knew each other perfectly, at all times both knew what the other was thinking, and this reflected in their tandem combat, as both survived the war without a scratch.
After the war had died down, Impetus was awarded a Sapphire Blade for her exploits. However, considering she was in possession of a lightsaber, she gave the blade to Ararin, who from then on agreed to work on his swordplay in case the need for close combat emerged. He would be training with the new twi’lek student and close friend of Impetus, Elena Vos.
It's a Long Way Down
After an urgent call from her Uncle, Ararin followed Impetus back to Siordan'a. War had broken out, and slavers had attacked the city in masses. When they arrived, everything had been burned down, all the mmen had been killed, the females kidnapped.
While fighting alongside Impetus to bring the leader down, both of them were captured and taken to the very top of Mount Chir'Lekki, the mountain that housed Siordan'a.
He was restrained, and forced to watch his wife tortured until she pleaded for her death. After the words 'Don't worry, I can fly', she jumped off the mountain, above an abyss that would kill her 10 times over. Still restrained, Ararin was helpless to stop her.
A few minutes later, Impetus majestically rose above the lip of the mountain, sitting proudly atop a White Rukh. While her and her new comrade attempted to break Ararin free of the slavers' grasp, he was thrown off the mountain, falling at least 100 meters to his death.
Profile
Appearance
Ararin’s position as a half twi’lek - half Human gave him a unique appearance that appealed to Impetus.
His skull was shaped like a Human’s aside from the lekku, that while shorter than a normal twi’lek’s, were still very visible as they reached down to his shoulders. His skin was a strong yellow tone, contrasting to his short yet wild dark brown hair.
His blue eyes were bright and sharp. Other than the yellow skin, Ararin’s face resembled a teenage Human, not bearing the typical ugly appearance associated with pure-breed twi’lek males.
Ararin was athletically built, with long, flexible fingers and arms. Typically, he would wear long, dark, non-hooded robes that allow for plenty of freedom to move but not a lot of protection.
Personality
Ararin Korin and Impetus were never seen apart, often hand in hand. It was common knowledge that he goes where she goes, fights who she fights, and would follow Impetus to her death. Unfortunately this happened in 28 ABY, atop mount Chir'Lekki on Ryloth.
He had become so attached to her as he got used to the brotherhood, he became slightly scared to leave her side, and he was considerably less confident with his speech when she was not there, especially when dealing with new faces. This started to wear off as he settled in in CSP, but was still somewhat noticeable up to his death.

Hobbies, Penchants and Talents
Ararin spendt the majority of his time practicing with his sniper rifle and blaster pistols. Since joining Scholae Palatinae and pracicing there, he had become incredibly lethal with both bistol and rifle, often using two pistols at the same time.
Towards the end, Ararin had been spending a lot more time working on his swordmanship by testing his skills with Impetus’ Sapphire Blade against her lightsaber, and against the sword of Elena Vos.
His favourite of all though, and the favourite of most married men, was spending quality time alone with his wife.
Notable Possessions
Sapphire Blade
Ararin’s Sapphire Blade was a gift from Impetus after the 7th Great Jedi War. Was used many times shortly before he died.
SoroSuub X-45 Sniper Rifle
If combat looks likely, Ararin would strap this weapon across his back, forming an ‘X’ shape with the Sapphire Blade. When using this weapon, Ararin could pretty much ensure a headshot at ranges of up to 1000 meters. While the average X-45 only fires 500 meters, Weapon Master Yeldarb Voukou modified the barrel and scope for increased range and accuracy.
DH 14 Blaster Pistols
Ararin constantly carried a pair of DH 14 blaster pistols for medium to close range combat, which have both been modified by Yeldarb to allow for extra firepower without overheating. However, this cost the weapon it’s accurace, rendering it incredibly difficult to hit a target about 50 meters away.
Trivia
- Ararin Korin was originally created as an unimportant rpg character by Arania. His homeplanet, Zelda, was also created by Arania.
- Ararin was hated by Impetus’ jealous ex-lover Cuchulain, a hatred that earned itself a few references in the gjw7 clan run-on.
