Jebbi was the owner of the Jebbi's Pit Cantina, an establishment within Menat Ombo. When the New Dawn conquered New Tython in 37 ABY, he initially submitted to the new monarchy while quietly helping along Harakoans and other fugitives to get medical care and transport away from the city. When he was discovered, he was executed by Cy Thuron on a live holonet feed, while his cantina was demolished and sold to a Hutt.
Jebbi's Pit Cantina
Jebbi is the proud owner of one of the first cantinas to appear within Menat Ombo. The cantina itself is situated on the side of a small cliff overlooking Ooroo Abbey. As the barkeep, Jebbi is often seen behind the centrally located counter serving drinks and preparing meals for tythonians who find themselves thirsty for a pint or two. Due to it's unique location, Jebbi ordered the cantina to have an open design during construction, taking advantage of the cool misty air and the breathtaking vista. The cantina itself is comprised of mostly half walls with a shingled roof suspended above by large poles of bamboo. On the west side is located the 'bar' area in which patrons can enjoy a pint of Menat Ombo's finest liquor as they gaze over the rounded balcony overlooking a steep cliff. Nearby, travellers will also notice the smell of rich, delicious recipes from all over the galaxy as they pass the cantina. Throughout the day, the clink of glasses can be heard as the tythonians recount their tales, or share the latest gossip. during the cantina's busiest hours, smoke billows up into the refreshing air as Jebbi cooks the finest meals to perfection, using a series of unique recipes and spices.
History
Beginnings
Jebbi originated from Ord Mantell in a small colony along with his father, Jedd, and his sister, Lauren. His father owned a small diner named Jedd's Diner on the outskirts of town, famous for it's use of imported spices, ingredients and alcoholic beverages from all corners of the galaxy. Jebbi and his sister often worked at their father's diner, preparing meals and serving patrons. Eager to follow in his father's footsteps, Jebbi travelled the galaxy as a chef-in-training. Eventually, Jebbi's father had fallen ill and Jebbi was forced to take over the diner, which had then been renamed Jebbi's Diner. There, he enthusiastically took over the duties that his father had once had, and in turn had grown into a master chef. His happiness did not last long, however, as he was conscripted into the mantellian military shortly thereafter.
A Dark Chapter
Life as an accomplished chef ended instantly for Jebbi when he first recieved a letter of conscription. During this horrible time, Jebbi had been forced onto the frontlines with little experience. The training he had recieved was short, and in no way prepared him for the horrors he would later face. He had witnessed atrocities and mental wounds that never heal during this dark chapter. Jebbi had eventually rose through the ranks, reluctantly as he fought in battles that would later become forgotten. Recognising his skill as a chef, however, the mantellian forces allowed Jebbi to remain as a chef for soldies fighting on the frontlines. However, the war had grown to be too much for Jebbi to take in, and he left. None on Ord Mantell has heard from him again.
Journey to a New Life
Being a deserter was not what Jebbi had intended. He had often missed the days when regulars would come into his diner for the strongest drink he had to offer. The laughter of the patrons was gone, as was the clinking of glasses. Packing what he could into a small shuttle, he set course for New Tython, a planet he considered off the radar to hide his deserter status until he deemed it safe to return home. The droning of the engines was irritating as he travelled through space, feeling torn from his one and only home. During his travels, he had stopped for only short periods of time, frightened at the though of what would become of him, should his identity be revealed.
New Tython
Arriving on New Tython had been easier than Jebbi had expected. Here, there was a bustling local marketplace in the heart of New Tython, as well as spacers looking to make a profit. Instantly, Jebbi realized the potential of New Tython and constructed a Cantina. The constuction of Jebbi's Pit Cantina had been faster than he had anticipated. Within a month, Jebbi was once again a renowned barkeep. Striking deals with local spacers, Jebbi had secured a geat store of many fine and rare spices and ingredients from the farthest reaches of the Galaxy. Shortly later, Jebbi had secured a vast wealth compared to that of many other tythonians and settled down in the It'kla District, where he had purchased one of the finer homes available. Much of his wealth, however he had sent to his younger sister back on Ord Mantell in hopes that they might one day be reunited.
Rebellion and Death
When Cy Thuron conquered New Tython in 37 ABY, Jebbi was one of the first to surrender, swear fealty to the new King, and reopen his establishment with proper taxes to the Throne. He allowed inspections of his facilities by the Royal Forces and, by all appearances, helped the government with its goals; he used this goodwill in secret to hide fugitives and arrange for care and transport out of the city for refugees, rebels, and Harakoan natives. Unfortunately, General Mirr became wise to someone ferrying out civilians, and sent agents into the populace seeking assistance as rebels. When one of these was helped by Jebbi, he was quickly arrested, given a rigged trial, and sentenced to death. Cy Thuron personally executed him on the planet's holonet, carefully policed from the rest of the galaxy.
