Droveth Kathera Vectivi is a Jedi Knight Consular from Clan Odan-Urr. He is a member of House Hoth. He currently calls Solyiat home with his other Jedi brethren.
Character History
Early Life
A view of the twin planet Talus from orbit
Droveth spent much of his early life on Talus doing odd jobs around the city for his mother and neighbors, and any free time playing with his brother Taneth. He was an optimistic young man, and even when this started to decline around his household he remained true and just. His brother, however, drifted towards darkness and eventually fled the family in the night. Droveth realized that he needed to help protect his mother and began training to become a warrior with a man in the city. 10 years after Taneth had left, Droveth saw him once again on a death squad robbing and murdering merchants in the street. Just before he was struck down by his own brothers' bullet, a mysterious Jedi saved his life. After that moment, Droveth knew it was his path to join the Jedi.
Journey to the Jedi
Droveth had decided that he would seek out the Jedi and join their cause, but this was no easy task. With very little money and no knowledge of how to pilot a space craft, Droveth was at a standstill. Luckily, a trader named Jorai Tarsa saw him training out in the field near the spaceport, lifting large landing gear tires above his head. Jorai offered Droveth a job as a crew member on his ship, which he happily accepted. During the next 5 years, Droveth traveled to countless different systems and planets, all while searching for some sort of clue as to where the Jedi were. Eventually he confided in Jorai, who had become a good friend. The trader then told him that he had known all along, and he would take him to the Yhi system, where he had heard rumors of the Jedi setting up a base. When the two men set down on New Tython, Droveth knew he was home. He bid Jorai Tarsa a friendly goodbye, and set off for Arca Praxeum.
Life on New Tython
Since seeking the ranks of the Jedi, Droveth found himself on New Tython and in the ranks of House Odan-Urr. It was here that he truly began training and learned of an unsteady truce that the House held with the Dark Jedi Brotherhood after a long and bloody war. The Jedi were only just beginning the pick up the pieces after finding their home on New Tython captured and then returned to them. Shortly after becoming a Padawan and joining the Disciples of Baas, that temporary truce was broken as a new terrible phase of the war erupted. The young Padawan saw wicked acts of violence in the war, but it only made him more adamant on helping those in need. He resided with House Satele Shan in the city of Seher on New Tython until it's destruction.
Moving Forward
After New Tython's destruction, much of the remaining Jedi order had scattered. Droveth had been lucky to survive and spent his days traveling from one planet to another. It was clear that the war and death the Jedi Knight had seen was too much, and his ideals began to wane; where he once was optimistic, now he was a realist. No longer did he solely rely on his lightsaber, or trust in the faith of his companions.
Droveth trained in advanced combat and lightsaber forms to better assist him in battle. He worked on his deception techniques and moved away from empathy and compassion. Even for a Jedi, heq found himself in a fair bit of trouble through that journey. By the time the Knight found his way to Solyiat and Clan Odan-Urr once again, he had become a soldier. Droveth joined House Hoth and continues to train his combat skills.
Physical Description
Droveth Kathera Vectivi is a human male who could blend in any scenario. 6 feet tall and bald, he would just as easily be seen piloting a ship or firing a blaster in battle. While he is a Caucasian, much of his life on Talus was spent outdoors, even in the city, so his body is covered with a dark bronze tan. While he is young, his head and forehead are wrinkled from stress. He has many scars on his body, but none on his face or arms, and none are distinguishable from another.
Trivia
- Droveth is well trained in the martial art of Whiptree.
- Although he is only 33, Droveth can grow no hair on his head, forcing him to be bald.
- As a young boy and into adulthood, Droveth learned much of the principles of the Jedi from an old man. It was only later when he came to New Tython that he actually learned how to use the Force.
- Originally Droveth was a Rodian Dark Jedi, but when the Light Jedi option became available, his story was changed and he became a human.
