These NPC Character Sheet Guidelines outline how NPC Character Sheets are managed in the Dark Brotherhood. This includes conditions by which members will be granted NPC Character Sheets as well as when and in what manner they should be utilized. These guidelines are maintained by the Voice of the Brotherhood and their staff.

As an alternative to these guidelines, members are free to create and develop any characters they wish on the wiki in as much detail as necessary.

Training and Education

Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are not considered part of Brotherhood Canon for the purposes of training and educating members on using these Character Sheets. This includes training in the Antei Combat Center as well the Shadow Academy for their respective duties. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned by either the Voice of the Brotherhood or Headmaster and their staffs.

Rite of Supremacy / Great Jedi War

Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are active in the plot of either a Rite of Supremacy or Great Jedi War Vendetta, where they show up in competition prompts and interact with members in works of fiction. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned by the Voice of the Brotherhood and their staff and their persistence beyond the conclusion of a Vendetta at their discretion depending on future plans.

Clan Feud / Sanctioned Competition

Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are active in the plot of either a Clan Feud or Sanctioned Competition Vendetta, where they show up in competition prompts and interact with members in works of fiction. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned by the members on the summits of the Clans for the duration of the events. These NPC Character Sheets will need to be reviewed at the conclusion of the event to become either part of a Clan Storyline (see below) or transferred in ownership to the Voice of the Brotherhood staff to become part of larger future Vendetta activities such as a Rite of Supremacy or Great Jedi War (see above).

Individual Clan Usage

Character Sheets are created for NPCs for Clan usage for two different reasons: Clan Events and Clan Storyline. All NPC Character Sheets intended for use by a Clan must go through an approval process, as described below, before being granted.

Clan Event

Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are active in the plot of a Clan Event, where they show up in the competition prompts and interact with members in works of fiction where an entire Clan is involved, but only a single Clan. Clan Event NPCs exist primarily to help members in writing major characters that take place in only a single event, and are not meant to see substantial fictional development. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned by the members on the summits of the Clans for the duration of the events. These NPC Character Sheets ownership will be transferred to the Voice of the Brotherhood and their staff at the conclusion of the events where they can be reviewed to either become part of a Clan Storyline (see below) or otherwise removed at the their discretion.

Clan Storyline

Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are active in the plot and fictional story of a Clan, where they show up in competition prompts and interact with members of the Clan in works of fiction as a major protagonist or antagonist over the course of multiple events and substantial time. Clan Storyline NPCs are meant to develop over time and "respond" to the fictional actions within the units. These NPC characters are meant to be recurring important characters active in shaping a Clan's story. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned and maintained by a member of the summits of the Clans who will be responsible for upkeep of the Character Sheet and corresponding wiki article. Failure to upkeep or utilize an NPC could see that NPC Character Sheet revoked. In general, Clan Storyline NPCs will be under tighter restrictions than Clan Event NPCs.

Requirements

The following required details must be submitted via email to the Voice of the Brotherhood with the Deputy Grand Master and Grand Master on copy as part of the process to get an NPC Character Sheet initially approved.

  • Name, Path, Order, Rank, Species
  • Link to a full wiki article not considered under construction that is created for the character that includes a biography, philosophy, appearance and personality.
  • Relevance to the Clan plot and what role they will play in competitions and interactions with members.
  • Why a member of the Clan cannot fill the fictional role of this NPC.
  • If a Clan has existing NPC Character Sheets already, list them here and the active roles they are playing that require a new addition.

Individual Member Usage

Currently there is no guideline around creating an NPC Character Sheet for use by an individual member for their personal storyline, and as such they will not be granted at this time.

Awarded

Character Sheets can be awarded to Clans or members. The process of awarding is currently under development along with possessions, and documentation for how to handle this process is undetermined. Any approval of an NPC Character Sheet award will require approval by the Grand Master, Deputy Grand Master and Voice of the Brotherhood.
