Dun Moch is an Archaic form of Lightsaber combat, and relies heavily on the Dark Side of the Force to intimidate and destroy an opponent.
Explanation
Dun Moch was more a state of mind than a complete form of lightsaber combat. Its name roughly translates from ancient Sith into "domination of the mind" and, for obvious reasons, was never used by members of the Jedi Order. Rumor has it Dun Moch was the chosen form of both Darth Tyrannus and Darth Vader. Sith Lore tells us that the a Dark Lord of the Sith, possibly Darth Andeddu, had turned this philosophy into a true form of lightsaber combat, but the records of the origin of this art are blurry.
The basis of Dun Moch is to break an opponent. It incorporates a number of taunts and gestures, and particular applications of the Force are also built in to some of the maneuvers. Like most Sith practices it relies heavily on the dark side and is far more Force heavy than any of the basic Jedi Arts, except perhaps Vapaad.
In many ways Dun Moch resembles Makashi for it was developed primarily with the thought of dueling Jedi in mind. Dun Moch incorporates a number of different techniques but specialises in tricking an opponent into making fatal mistakes. A number of feints form a core part of the teachings of Dun Moch.
The Dual Phase Lightsaber is used to change the saber in mid-duel, helping to confuse their enemy. Used in conjunction with dark armor, and while using the Force to further frighten or intimidate their prey, all while battering their assailant with saber, and telekinetically mobilized objects, the Dun Moch adherent glories in his ability to bring his assailants down before him in fear.
Stance
With feet square to the shoulders, the body should be turned at a slight angle away from the opponent, thereby reducing the target for the opponent. The saber arm is closest the enemy, and the blade is held down and slightly forward and away from the body.
Striking
Fast and light, this style relies heavily upon the flexibility of the wrist, the fast mobility of the blade a crucial dynamic in successful application. Tight arcs and fast slashes are used to out maneuver an opponent with minimal strain on the user, a boon for those who have limited maneuverability due to age, handicap, or just those ungifted in stamina.
Parrying
This form has very limited blocks, instead relying on parries to deflect an opponent's blade, get their blade within striking distance and disarm an opponent. By using these tactics, as well as aggressive and judicious use of the Force to break an opponent, a Dun Moch master has little trouble with most opponents.
Requirements
A person wishing to study Dun Moch must first master Makashi completely, as well as be so adept with the force that they can actually do the mentally strenuating form.
There are additional combat maneuvers available to the Dun Moch adherent who uses a Dual Phase Lightsaber.
