Queen of the Shroud is a heavily modified Minstrel-Class Space Yacht that serves as the personal corvette of Morgan B. Sorenn, corsair and crime boss in the Shroud Syndicate. Originally a luxury vessel, it has been reshaped into a fearsome and ruthless raider.
History
Originally designed as a pleasure craft for the elite of Nal Hutta, Queen of the Shroud was once the prized possession of the powerful Hutt crime lord, Saatjeekah Besh. It was used as a status symbol, hosting extravagant gatherings and clandestine negotiations between syndicates. However, as the political tides shifted within Hutt Space, the vessel found itself at the center of a power struggle between rival criminal factions.
Morgan B. Sorenn, seeking to cement her rise within the galactic underworld, orchestrated the downfall of a key Black Sun Vigo, a rival to Saatjeekah—a move that both destabilized a rival syndicate and forced the Hutt into a vulnerable position, one which Morgan seized on. His major rival wiped, and his profit prospects restored, Saatjeekah could either thank his would-be ally and shower her with gifts, thus showing his power and generosity, or follow a similar fate as his rival did. Morgan suffered no fools, and the Hutt knew that all too well.
Following the ship's acquisition, it underwent extensive modifications, stripping away some of its original opulence and reinforcing it for combat and smuggling operations. The once-grand halls became war rooms and armories covered in spoils from many raids, though some things remained the same, like the compartments holding illicit goods for the Hutt's guests.
Under Sorenn’s command, Queen of the Shroud has played a role in numerous criminal enterprises, including high-profile raids, blockade running, and assassination operations. It has gone toe-to-toe with rival syndicates, bounty hunters, The Collective, and even The Children of Mortis, proving its worth time and time again. Each battle and conquest has left its mark upon the ship, but rather than diminishing its presence, these scars have only added to its menacing presence.
