DJBWiki:Featured article

From Wikipedia of the Dark Brotherhood, an online Star Wars Club
Revision as of 21:43, 21 July 2022 by Nikora Rhan (talk | contribs)

The featured articles of the wiki are articles that represent the best DJBWiki has to offer. This is not a way to showcase the articles of your favorite characters, spaceships, or the like.

Potential Featured Articles

List an article and note any fixes that would need to be made by the creator before it can become a Featured Article. After adding the article to the list, contact the creator and notify him/her that their article has the potential to be Featured with some minor tweaks.

  1. Reiden needs to be completed so it can be reconsidered for nomination again. Bentre (talk) 01:58, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
    1. CON: Section Darkness Elevated (34 ABY) needs completed
    2. CON: Section Collective Assault & A New Legacy (35 ABY) needs completed
  2. Koryn Thraagus has some issues, but actually looks like an interesting bit of history, if only the page of a member Rogue for some time Bentre (talk) 06:06, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
    1. CON: lists need integrated into larger page
    2. CON: eras tag needs fixed
    3. CON: better linking throughout
    4. CON: remove CSP template at bottom
    5. CON: rectify inappropriate categories
  3. Zentru'la at a glance could be a potential featured candidate. Will revisit with pros and cons. Bentre (talk) 09:22, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
  4. Rian Taldrya at a glance might make the makings of a featured page.
    1. CON: Slight expansion of the childhood section would strengthen this page.
    2. CON: "Something about Rian having a hard time as teenager on a mandalorian military academy while being a half-breed." in the Teen Years section needs to be expanded/completed.
    3. CON: Rule of Tyranny needs expanded
    4. CON: tone and greater interlinking need addressed
    5. if the above are addressed or otherwise remedied the page can be considered for Feature.
  5. Eilen Ru'tyari is at the very least worth examining. While brief, it offers a very comprehensive history on the character and offers a detailed arc and development to follow. The only concern I might have is that there are relatively few images present on the page. Essik Lyccane (talk) 23:15, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
  6. Vatali Royal Guard The page is missing an image fitted into the infobox, but it is otherwise comprehensive and well detailed, especially for a background element of a culture. Essik Lyccane (talk) 17:21, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
  7. Vatali Empire An extensive piece on the history and major figures of one setting, detailing the societal structure, conflicts, and major rulers involved. It's a good example on how to concentrate upon one faction of a planet while retaining a narrow focus on the essentials. Essik Lyccane (talk) 17:21, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
  8. Kiast (Planet) A detailed history and geography of a major world of Clan Odan-Urr, backed by maps and broken up into eras. It presents a diverse and lived-in environment while keeping to a relatively short word count. Essik Lyccane (talk) 17:21, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
  9. Kasiya The world is extremely well fleshed out, detailed and lacking only a few areas which need to be further built up. On the whole, it's a great example of giving it a very lived-in sense and depth while remaining conservative in length. Essik Lyccane (talk) 21:43, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

the Wiki Tribune is continuing to review Clan's categories for additional characters and locations, but don't be afraid to add your suggestions and finish it off with 4 ~'s to sign it!

Process

So just what makes a featured article? Well, we've prepared a list just in case someone should ask that, and it is as follows.

An article must…

  1. …be well written and detailed.
  2. …be written from an unbiased, third-person, objective point of view.
  3. …have a complete, detailed biography if the page concerned is a character article.
  4. …have a succinct and appropriate lead that can be used for the front page featured box.
  5. ...have a properly applied Eras Template at the top of the page where applicable.
  6. …not be the object of any ongoing edit wars.
  7. …not be tagged with any sort of improvement tags (i.e. more sources, expand, etc)
  8. …not contain an unreasonable number (use common sense) of red links.
  9. …not have been previously featured.
  10. ...not contain a trivia section comprised of a random assortment of miscellaneous facts. See the corresponding article on Trivia for more details.

How to nominate:

  1. First, nominate an article you find is worthy of featured status, putting it at the bottom of the list below; see criteria above.
  2. Others will object to the nomination if they disagree that the article is good enough; they will then supply reasons for doing so, and ways to improve the article (errors, style, organization, images, notability, sources).
  3. Supporters adjust the article until the objectors (with reasonable objections) are satisfied.
  4. The article is placed on the featured article list and added to the front page queue.
  5. Also, if, at least two week after the article's nomination, that article has 5 supports and no objections, it will be added the queue, and will be officially known as a "featured article".

How to vote:

  1. Before doing anything, be sure to read the article completely, keeping a sharp eye out for mistakes.
  2. Afterwards, compare the article to the criteria listed above, and then either support or object the article's nomination.
    1. If you object, please supply concrete reasons for doing so, and how it can be improved.
  3. As stated above, any objections will be looked upon by the nominator, supporters, and anyone willing to improve the article, and action will be taken to please the objectors.
  4. Once all objectors' complaints have been solved (or the article has 5 supports and no objections after at least a week), the article will be added to the queue and be officially known as a "featured article".

Also remember to add {{Nominated} at the top of the article you are nominating.

Every month the next article in the queue will be highlighted on the Main Page as featured, marked with a Featured icon and removed from the list of nominations. The beginning of the article then appears on the Main Page via the {{Featured article}} template. Nominees that are inactive for a month may be eliminated from the nominations list.
