History of the Mandalorian Great Hunt
It was originally started as a Mandalorian only tradition on the Onderon moon of Dxun. It was a way for Mandalorians to fight for honor and the title of Champion of the Great Hunt. It later became a galaxy-spanning event that was open to the best Bounty Hunters and Mercenaries in the universe, most of which were sponsored by various organizations and wealthy individuals.
It was part bounty hunt and part gladiator arena. Each bounty had at least 2 hunters assigned to it, meaning you had to kill not just your target but your opponent as well. Cheating or using outside help meant an immediate Death Warrant on a participant’s head was issued.
Clan Vizsla
The Great Hunt is organized and called by the Consul of Clan Vizsla and currently open only to members of the clan. The hunt is designed to test the skill and endurance of the clan, as well as the battle-readiness since they can be called at anytime. The winner of the hunt is declared Huntmaster and must then defend their title whenever the next Great Hunt is called.
Just as in the Great Hunts of Mandalorian fame there are multiple bounties to be taken. The bounties are not always people but often highly sought after or rare items. While completing the event quickly does help, many of the bounties also are graded on the quality. For example, a larger Krayt Pearl will beat a smaller one. These items can be used to further clan interests and boost a member’s legacy in the clan and brotherhood as a whole.
Rules of The Great Hunt:
- All participants must work alone unless noted in the specific Bounty.
- Competitors are not allowed to kill each other.
- All Bounties must be turned in before the set end of the Hunt.
- Respect the Bounty and follow all instructions.
