The Ascendant Legion comprises all Ground Forces for Plagueis, the Ascendant House. Under the Command of the Plagueis Summit and the Dark Jedi of Plagueis, these hardened troops are completely loyal to their dark masters and obey the will of Ascension at all times. Originally formed in 33 ABY by Kal di Plagia Vorrac as a reorganization of the Jusadih Military Regime's Branches, the armed forces of the House were a major factor in Jusadih's growth.
After the departure of Commander Vorrac, the Branches split apart into factions of renegade troops and Dark Jedi and waged civil war against one another. Seeing that only cohesive, true Leadership could unite the Ascendant House and turn it against its enemies, the Dark Jedi who would become known as Primus Pilus led guerrilla assaults and deadly strikes against the rebellious factions until all were once again made to submit to the Quaestor’s authority.
Following the resolution of this conflict, Quaestor Tra'an Reith reorganized the remnants of the old Army and Intelligence Branches into the Legion, placing the Army and the Directorate firmly and permanently under the command of the Plagueis Summit.
Organization
The Ascendant Legion is comprised of two core branches, namely the Jusadih Armed Forces and Jusadih Intelligence Directorate. While operating under said names in public, both the Armed Forces and the Directorate are part of the Legion; during war, the Directorate will supply intelligence on the enemy while the Army handles ground combat. During peacetime, the Army assists local volunteer and employed security forces in Jusadih, while the Directorate handles any and all intel-sensitive or detective work.

1st Armored Regimental Combat Team
The concept of the Regimental Combat Team (RCT) is new to the Army of Plagueis. What differentiates a RCT from a normal regiment is the possession of organic supporting units such as, artillery and aircraft, allowing the unit to conduct full spectrum operations as a stand alone entity. The 1st Armored Regimental Combat Team (1ARCT) serves as the Legion’s expeditionary and heavy assault unit. Comprising the 1ARCT are two identical Battalion Task Forces (BTF). Each BTF is a self-supporting unit containing organic armor, infantry, artillery, and air support. The infantry, one heavy infantry company per BTF, is divided into three platoons wit each platoon being attached to an AT-AT. Infantry, engineers, and medical personnel can also board the BTF’s MAAT for supporting air assault operations. This one example alone illustrates the flexibility of the RCTs and BTFs on the modern battlefield.
