Kirrawanno, known to his friends as 'Kirra', is a Wookiee pilot serving as a Flight Leader of Devastator Squadron, which is attached to the ISDII Eye of the Abyss II, Clan Arcona's flagship.
History
Kirrawanno was born on Kashyyyk to Lumstacca and Snararro. From a young age it was clear that Kirra was interested in seeing more of the galaxy than just his homeworld. His parents did little to discourage this, although they insisted that the young Wookiee be schooled in traditional Wookiee customs first.
As Kirra reached his teenage years, things were beginning to become troubled in the galaxy. The Republic was beginning to crumble, with many starsystems beginning to secede and join a new movement.
Eventually things spilled over into the Clone Wars. Kirra, along with his parents, was involved in the Battle of Kashyyyk that took place in 19BBY.
As the clone wars ended and the Republic was replaced by the Empire. Under the Empire, the Wookiees were little more than slaves. Kirra's parents were taken and forced to work on the Death Star project. Unbeknownst to Kirra, Lumstacca and Snararro were killed days before the Battle of Yavin, when the completed Death Star fired its superlaser upon Despayre.
Eventually the Empire was defeated. For the first time, Kirra was allowed to actively pursue his dream. At first, he did not sign up for the fledgling New Republic military, but instead worked as a co-pilot for the owner of a small freighter.
The existence was not glamorous, but it provided a modest wage, and in time Kirra could afford his own ship.
Things had not gotten easier in the galaxy, despite the Empire's defeat. The New Republic had been hit with problems from the outset, ranging from political problems to extra-galactic invaders. The Republic was forced to reorganise itself into the Galactic Alliance. Kirra was no fool, however. Seeing that the galaxy at large was struggling to avoid open conflict at every turn, Kirra looked for somewhere else to be.
In 33ABY, the Wookiee happened upon some unknown coordinates. These took him to the Dajorra System, home of Clan Arcona.
Kirra's skills as a pilot soon got him noticed, and he was drafted into the Arcona Starfighter Corps. Due to his large size, he was only able to comfortably fit into the cockpit of the B-Wings that were used by a few of the bomber squadrons.
After Horizons, Kirra, now in his seventies but still easily capable of out flying many, was offered a Flight Leader job in the newly created Devastator Squadron, as a reward for his excellent performance.
Personality
Kirrawanno is seen by many as little more than a beast, due to his inability to speak basic. Andrelious J. Inahj, one of Arcona's Sith and the former Commander of Void Squadron is particularly vocal in this view, though he has mellowed greatly since seeing Kirra in action.
Despite of the language barrier, Kirra is greatly respected by his fellow pilots, and he is often able to offer advice thanks to his years of travelling the galaxy, although he claims that he has 'seen very little' of the various wars that had troubled the galaxy in general.
