Tarthos could be described as two planets; one hot, one cold. Though within the pull of Orian Major it is still too far away to support life fully and relies heavily on Orian Minor for extra sunlight. For most of the year Tarthos is stuck in bitter winter; its seasons are erratic and depend largely on its proximity to the lesser star. It experiences a rather unique ecology and, despite the cold weather, supports more life than most planets of similar temperatures. Being so far out from Sepros it was never colonised as intensively as Aeotheran during the days of the Sith Empire but still sports a few lone installations.
The planet was originally used as a staging post after the Great Schism to plan the conquest of the inner worlds. A few of the surviving temples were taken by the Clan and converted to store much of the transported supplies and artefacts following the exodus from the First Dominion. Even today these installations remain in the Clan’s control and serve as a far more remote and hidden location for the Sadow Archives than the palace on Sepros itself.
The headquarter of House Marka Ragnos is on Tarthos, as the Ragnos Cathedral.
