Iosan is a factory world unsuitable for life, its surface mostly covered in ice. Vast wastelands, the result of industrial complexes on the planet, dot the more pleasant regions. The refinement of Clouzon-36 is the primary usage of Iosan and the moon’s atmosphere suffers greatly from heavy pollution through the refinement processes, making it a necessity to wear a breathing mask outside of the moon’s facilities. Iosan is also the leading moon in a tri-moon cart with Elysia and Ostara.
Description
Large parts of Iosan are covered with clear ice with only few patches of solid land dotting the surface, making it an ideal testbed for syndicate owned gas refining plants for the Clouzon-36 harvested on Perune. Due to the intense industrial manufacturing processes and the associated pollution, the flora has changed to a deep brown hue rather than the usual vibrant greens. Its thin atmosphere and heavy pollution make Human habilitation impossible. A breathing mask is required outside of the industrial facilities at all times.
History
Pre-Taldryan
During the time of the colonization, the Imperial Forces searched and found the perfect place to built planetary complexes to refine the Clouzon-36 collected on Perune by establishing large refining facilities on the surface of Iosan. However the ongoing refining activities had quite a negative effect on the moon’s already thin atmosphere, adding a high pollution of areas from the Clouzon-36.
By the time the Empire fell, the atmosphere of the moon was already contaminated to such a degree that the entire flora of the planet had changed its color from rich greens to deep browns and oranges. While the local leaders understood that they were responsible, the whole purpose of the moon’s facilities was to refine the gas collected from Perune and relocating would have been consuming high amounts of both time and credits, they settled on continuing the usage of the refinement facilities up to the present day.
