Character History
Early Life
Flelm was born into a small farming community on rural Ukio. He had a normal childhood, but long hours working on the farm equipment instilled in him a love of heavy machinery. That, combined with the endless Imperial recruitment propaganda, caused him to enlist in the Imperial Army at the age of 18, just after the Battle of Yavin and what he thought was the Rebels' destruction of Alderaan.
Army Service
In the Imperial Army, he excelled at battlefield command and piloting, and was soon promoted to an AT-AT pilot. Participating in the Hoth assault, his walker was one of the few that managed to avoid the Rebels' tactic of tow-ropes tripping the ungainly behemoths. In spite of this, due to the debacle, he was demoted to mechanic and transferred to the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet in the Outer Rim territories.
Emperor's Hammer
TIE Corps Recruitment
In the Emperor's Hammer, Flelm grew into a dark depression. He was no longer serving the Empire in any meaningful way, and took up drinking heavily. Whenever not on duty, he could be found in whatever cantina was around, and even on station he was often hungover and ill-tempered. His only recreation besides drinking was found in flight simulators, often losing himself for hours at a time, and indeed it was the only time he didn't crave alcohol.
Soon his flight time was found out, as he had bribed an amateur slicer to get him more time on the sims than was normal for a mechanic. However, due to his raw skill, and his previous command experience, he was drafted into the TIE Corps, as a TIE Defender pilot in Lambda Squadron.
Pre-Exodus
His squadron commander, Dharmy, recognized in Flelm the latent Force powers that had been assisting him unconsciously up to this point, and recruited him into the Dark Brotherhood, into House Caliburnus in Clan Scholae Palatinae. He thrived in the cutthroat atmosphere of the Brotherhood, and eventually rose as far as Quaestor of Caliburnus, holding both the positions of Aedile and Nightshade Commander along the way.
Exodus
The Exodus came as a complete surprise to Flelm. He had ignored the politics, and was left floundering. Rather than follow the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, he took a leave of absence from both the Emperor's Hammer and the Dark Brotherhood. During this time his alcoholism resurfaced with a vengeance, even though it had never gone away entirely.
Return to the Dark Brotherhood
Eventually, Flelm felt a disturbance in the Force. Pulling him out of his stupor, he hopped the first ship he could off the backwater planet he had been on, and made his way to Antei, following news of the Brotherhood. Arriving at the system, he prostrated himself, and begged to be reinstated. He was welcomed back with his full rank of Sith Warrior, and rejoined Scholae Palatinae, where he remains to this day.
