Karufr is a planet located in the Kr'Tal System, which is currently under control by Taldryan. It is the third orbit of Kr'Tal, the system's star, and houses the House headquarters.
History
Karufr is a habitable, terrestrial planet with an oxygen rich atmosphere. The planet was made the clan headquarters due to its centralized position in the system as the third orbit. The planet’s biosphere is not as diverse as Taruma and has no native sentient life, but has adequate provisions for sustaining life and small life forms. Grasslands and towering mountains dominate the planet’s surface, along with tall forests and a band near the equator that stands as the planet’s tropical region. The climate on Karufr is colder and windier than Taruma, due to its distance from the star Kr’Tal, but it is not outside the comfort zone of most species.
Karufr has two satellites, both moons. Oteuky and Amaho are nearly identical in diameter at 3,792 meters and 3,289 meters respectively. Their elliptical orbit around Karufr’s equatorial band creates for massive tidal swells nearly three times a day as the gravitational stresses pull from multiple angles.
Taldryan built its Great Hall and temple upon the Teramon continent, one of the six predominant land masses. The planet’s oceans cover nearly 40% of the planet’s surface, most of which have not been surveyed and remain something of an unknown. The Great Hall itself is built upon a naturally occurring Dark Side Nexus, the origin of which is a matter of great debate and curiosity.
In orbit the House's main Naval Dock and Fleet Station resides in geosynchronous position over the Great Hall. The Taldryan Home Guard fleet calls this home, and is the first line of defense against an oncoming attack. Armed with recurrent batteries of Concussion Missiles, Proton Torpeados, Quad-Laser Banks, and Heavy Turbolasers, the Fleet Station is more akin to a defensive Space Station than a Space Dock capable of servicing three cruisers at a time.
Moons
Oteuky
Oteuky is a habitable moon with a thin nitrogen and oxygen rich atmosphere. Covered in tall, sharp mountain ranges and low valley lakes, the moon is something of an adventure destination for Jedi on leave. The climate is very cold due to the lack of heat absorbing gases in the air and fauna on the ground.
Amaho
Amaho is covered in a milky white sea of liquid Vanadyl, Cobalt, and Vanadium. Small caramel colored islands dot the moon where the rock beneath breaks the surface. The relatively non-existent atmosphere of Amaho consists of gaseous forms of the liquid chemicals and is poisonous to all but a select number of species.
Former Consul Duga Arkarso Taldrya found the beauty of Amaho unparalleled and ordered the construction of a low orbit Space Station around the moon, for research and site-seeing purposes.
