Lech Marfin, a Stennes-Shifter, is a long-time member of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. His loyalty remains in question while others debate his usefulness within the brotherhood. He's held the position of Tetrarch of the Night Hawks Battle Team of Marka Ragnos in Clan Naga Sadow. Lech has risen to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight and has idled in that rank for some time now.
The son of a Stennaros Freighter captain and a Tatooine slave, he was born on Raxus Prime while his father was on a freight dump just above planet. His mother "disappeared" days after Lech's birth. She has yet to be found.
Character History
At the age of 7, Lech met Narfix, his long-time best friend. The two would spend hours together on their home world of Stennaros. Narfix was always getting into trouble while Lech served as the voice of reason. The best friends would search restricted areas of the planet for mystical artifacts or, if they were lucky, holocrons.
Lech was extemely interested in the history of worlds and cultures. He would study books and get his hands on any information he could. He truly was a scholar. Eventually, he was able to write a planet-wide news-feed about a lost Stennaros tradition. All of this by the
age of Fourteen! Through use of his knowledge and intelligence (and constant pestering) he was able to write a weekly news-feed about ancient civilizations.
He and his father were close. They would occasionally go on freight flights together. He realized his father wasn't the most savory character in the universe, but understood that what his father did while working was for the good of the family, so Lech accepted him.
Once in a blue moon, his father would get caught smuggling. That's when his father, Anaxus Marfin, was most proud of his son. His son always knew just what to say in order to get his father out of the difficult situation while managing to convince the patrol that the freight need not be checked and they should be on their way.
In his mid-teens, Lech discovered that his friend Narfix wielded the power of the force. Through inquirery about
this skill, he learned that Narfix's father was a Jedi. This led to Lech Marfin deciding that he should join the Jedi Academy with his best friend. His admission was rejected because he possessed all the traits that would lead him to the dark side. Being naive, Lech searched for the Shadow Academy for the next 2 years. He didn't care about the Light Side or the Dark side, he just wanted to wield the power of the force, use a lightsaber, and learn all he could about the history of the Jedi, Light and Dark.
Throughout the next few years, while searching for the elusive brotherhood , he used his shapeshifting abilities to question people in all locations of the Outer Rim as to where to locate the academy. Many could not help, while others only had pieces of information. It would be two years of searching before he gathered enough information to locate the brotherhood.
To maintain a steady income, Lech had no choice but to run "errands" for clients, from the wealthiest in society to the lowest life of scum. This leads to his acceptance of all walks of life. One day he could be delivering spice to Nar Shaddaa, the next day he could be beating up one of a local gangster's rivals.
Eventually, Lech found the location of the Shadow Academy. He was immediately accepted into the academy and proceeded to work his way up the ranks of the brotherhood. He would find friends and foes, enemies and allies while battling against opposing houses in the ACC. One day he would find himself the Tetrarch of the Night Hawks and lead a viable force of young members into battle time and again.
After a short absence, he met Kat Pridemore, Muz Ashen, and Manji. These members helped develop much of the skills Lech has today. Kat gave Lech a regular beating in the ACC while the future Grand Master Muz Ashen gave him books upon books to satisfy Lech's appetite for information.
Today, Lech looks to become an advisor and a regular among the brotherhood. As one of the older members, he knows much of the old ways.
