The Retribution Legion is primary organizational element underneath the Taldryan Expansionary Force and serves as the instrument of the Strategic Operations Council when ground based campaigns need to be prosecuted.
History
The Legion was born out of the ashes of the traitorous attack by Grand Master Jac Cotelin upon Karufr. In the aftermath of the attack, new Consul Ood Bnar seeking to create a more offensive minded ground attack unit, re-organized the surviving personnel and equipment of the Taldryan Army into the Retribution Legion.
Organization
The Retribution Legion is configured as a rapid deployment force consisting of two armored and two assault regiments. In addition to the line regiments there is a Headquarters section to oversee legion administration along a transportation regiment.
Each of the armored regiments are organized into two armored battalions, an infantry battalion and a support battalion including a regimental headquarters to oversee the administrative needs of the regiment. Each of the battalions are organized into four companies with a Headquarters and Headquarters Company to oversee the administrative needs of the battalion.
Each of the assault regiments are organized into two drop battalions, one infantry battalion and one support battalion including a regimental headquarters to oversee the adminstrative of the regiment and two aerospace support companies. Each of the battalions are organized into four companies with a Headquarters and Headquarters Company to oversee the administrative need of the battalion.
Each regiment is commanded by an officer at the rank of Colonel (CO) and assisted by an Executive Officer (XO). Battalions are commanded by an officer at the rank of Major (CO) and assisted by an Executive Officer (XO).
The legion itself is overseen by an Officer typically at the rank of Major General assisted by an Executive Officer and Command Sergeant Major (CSM).
