The destruction of the Rival gave the Nightfall advanced warning, and evasive maneuvers were set in motion by Dark Brotherhood.
Role
The picket Rival was employed by the Eighth Fleet's Task Force 63 as a reconnaissance vessel. As part of the Forsaken Strike Group, Rival would scout ahead of the main force to warn of impending threats.
